I'm eager to actually see the Wii U version, although I don't expect it too look drastically different.
In any case, while it may not be jaw dropping visually, it will probably be a lot more fun than FFXIV.
Look, I understand that most mobile gaming devices aren't killers who ascribe to a radical ideology, but a disturbing number of them are, and they receive little in the way of ridicule from supposedly mainstream mobile gaming devices.
Innocent consoles are dying! This senseless violence needs to stop.
"Mature" shouldn't just mean filled with overt sex and violence.
Sure, GTA deserves a place on the list, but I'd argue a game like The Witcher 2 deserves a higher place, because it features maturity beyond R-rated content, delving into the complex politics of the world and confronting the player with choices that are not clearly good or evil.
Heck, many games that are extremely gory (like Splatterhouse) or sexy (like DOA Xtreme) are actu...
Yeah, in this case the original box art looks leagues better than the bad-magazine-ad GOTY cover.
I'm still curious as to whether the GOTY content will all be included on-disk, or if we'll just get a bunch of DLC vouchers. If it's the later, there's not much incentive for collectors.
The first game was like one big Zelda dungeon, but it lacked a lot of the other aspects that made Zelda great (like a populated town hub to break up the pacing, etc.).
DS2 looks to introduce a lot of those elements that were missing from the first game, so at the very least it may be a real contender to Link & co.
Singh is great with a camera, but he falls short when it comes to actual storytelling. He would need to be partnered with a better writer who had the authority to keep him in line (and that last part is never gonna happen).
Good lord that's crazy. I guess I've got a long way to go to reach 209.3% completion...
BD isn't a bad game. It's a fun and competent 3rd person shooter.
That said, it comes nowhere near the polish of Gears. Not in the core gunplay, nor the variety of enemies and arenas, and certainly not in presentation.
It's not just a matter of budget. Epic has been making Gears games for a while. They've obviously fine-tuned the gameplay to a high degree.
Statements like this worry me. The stealth in Thief was so compelling partly because combat was *not* a viable option. Garrett was vulnerable and very likely to die if he was ever outnumbered.
It wouldn't have worked if the stealth mechanics weren't great, but thankfully they were. The danger added a real sense of tension. Don't mess this up Eidos!
But can they really pick up after the ending of GOW3 and make it work? A prequel is one thing, but honestly I'd rather they go in a whole new direction (maybe Norse mythology, etc.) with a new character for Santa Monica's next gen outing.
The studio has a lot of talent. Better to let them experiment with a new IP (like Naughty Dog is doing with TLoU) than tie them down to Kratos forever.
Many of Sony's TVs are actually manufactured by Samsung.
Sony makes very few electronic devices in-house these days. They farm out the manufacturing to other companies and slap the Sony brand name on it.
The quality of the devices therefore varies, but the bottom line is that in virtually any sector, the direct manufacturer is going to provide an equal or better quality product for a lower price. In the case of TVs, Samsung's own TVs are going to ...
Yeah, I was really looking forward to DS2 helping relieve the summer dry season. This news sucks.
Exactly. Many gamers seem to forget that Kinect saves the developer the trouble of having to code or buy their own voice recognition software. It makes the process cheap and easy.
Um, you would know if you just read the Kickstarter project description before investing, particularly the parts where they tell you which platforms the game will be released on...
@NeoBasch
Arkane doesn't have a bad track record at all. Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah were both memorable games. They've definitely got a talent for crafting atmospheric worlds.
Honestly, if you sell your used games to GS and feel ripped off, it's not GameStop's fault, it's YOURS.
GS is just another retailer. No one is forcing you to buy or sell there. I agree that some of their preorder incentives are annoying, but otherwise the fact that they act as a competitor to Amazon & co. is a good thing. Competition drives lower prices.
Personally, I'm not looking forward to the day when everything goes digital distri...
I agree that Capcom has dug their own grave, but let's be realistic:
How many video game customers actually check the BBB rating of a publisher before buying a game?
I'm guessing that number is pretty low. A BBB downgrade is more of a symbolic slap than anything that will really effect Capcom's sales. Now if gamers were to actually ignore RE6 when it came out, that would send a real message. But how likely is that to happen?
Bought it and put in several hours today. The game is well worth the $10 price tag. It's charming and smartly designed (the self-referential atmosphere reminds me of Earthbound), easily more enjoyable than many full price retail games.
Sure, FC3's multiplayer may sound like a COD clone, but the map editor makes all the difference. COD-style firefights with tons of (free) custom maps really isn't so bad of an idea.
The things is, aspects like this matter to collectors, and that would describe many of the people who care about GOTY editions.
It's not just bargain seekers who buy these editions of games.
