I'm eager to learn more about the new threat.
We've seen that grunts and elites will be back, but even that seems like a bit of a stretch. While they are iconic enemies, 343 needs to be bold enough to create *new* iconic foes that will force us to consider our tactics differently.
Yeah, similar to BF3, we can expect that EA will release mostly PC footage to show off the game.
The console versions may look decent, but not on the same level as that video.
I expect this list would look a bit different if titles such as GTAV and Black Ops 2 had confirmed release dates.
COD regulars care more about a consistent 60 frames per second than about sharper textures, higher resolutions or better lighting, and to be honest I basically agree with them.
If gameplay is more important than graphics, then the current engine should only be scrapped if a new one can maintain the same smooth frame rate while offering more on top of it.
The question is, how realistic is that? Most games that offer cutting-edge visuals on the consoles run...
Despite saying that, DXHR definitely tried to recapture what made the original great, and in many respects succeeded.
I only hope the new Thief shows as much respect for its source material.
Both character transfers and cross-platfom play would honestly be great for Diablo III.
For me, it's extremely important to relate *intimately* to my character. That's why before I play a new game, I go out and get a sex change or undergo a skin pigmentation operation so as to properly set the mood.
...You don't want to know what I went through to play as an Argonian in Skyrim (on the bright side, I can now breathe underwater).
@faysal
What you're saying basically reinforces my point - that "quality" can mean different things to different people and in different contexts. Thus, people should probably stay realistic with what they draw from Cage's statement.
I don't doubt that Quantic Dream has some talented designers, but it really depends on what Cage means by "the same quality".
At what resolution and frame rate? With how many NPCs on screen at once? With what degree of physics enabled? Etc.
No amount of programming wizardry will erase the fact that hardware does have limits. To make such things possible, there have to be sacrifices somewhere along the line.
Really hope this Fatal Frame 2 remake gets a western release. FF2 is a classic, and this looks pretty great for a Wii update.
Metro will look amazing, but it has a slightly more sci-fi style, where as Arma is going for a more realistic look.
Eh, either way, those with beastly PCs will be happy :)
To be honest, COD-style gunplay + Far Cry's powerful map editor doesn't sound bad at all.
Far Cry 2 lost its multiplayer legs despite a great map creator largely because the gunplay didn't feel tight enough and players complained about the longer kill times compared to COD. Now it's more like COD and people still complain.
I also found #4 to be on the money.
The "IMO Police" often show up when someone states an obvious opinion but doesn't label it as such. Personal value words such as "best" or "favorite" ALWAYS denote opinions by their very definition. Adding IMO to the end is just plain redundant.
That said, the first point needs to be worded better. The author seems to want to say "subjective does not equal irrelevant", but in...
I expect the big exclusives (Halo 4, TLoU) and GTAV will probably reap the most hype this year. But regardless, one thing is certain:
Thumbnail + breasts = clicks
Yeah, R3 has some great easter eggs. You can tell a lot of care went into the little details of the game.
It's all a part of the vast anti-Sony conspiracy. Sorry, but now that we know about you, you'll have to be eliminated.
I've contacted Steve Ballmer (who took a brief break from spying on couples having sex via the Kinect sensor) and black helicopters are now en route to your home via directions provided by Bing maps.
I'm hoping for something big after this wait. We know they've said that the Skyrim DLC will be closer in scope to an expansion, so I'm very interested to learn what kind of new land we'll be exploring.
Visiting another exotic deadric realm like we did in Shivering Isles would be a nice change of pace.
MS has basically shifted their main avenue of delivering exclusives to XBLA.
Early on they had more exclusive retail games such as those by Mistwalker, but unfortunately the market just didn't respond to them in a big way. These days outside of a few big franchises, it's downloadable games like Bastion, Alan Wake: Night Springs and Sine Mora where you see most of MS's exclusive content.
I think if MS doesn't reinvest in bigger budget exclu...
You pretty much nailed it.
Samsung and Apple have grown into monsters in the last decade, and they are the competitors that are most eating into Sony's bottom line, not Microsoft or Nintendo.
The question is, even if they get it together, can they reposition themselves to gain ground against the likes of Apple? I wish them luck, but that's a tall order even for a company that's not in the red.
Yeah, I would probably rank Agent above Half Life 3 right now. While Valve is certainly taking their time, I don't see them leaving the series hanging forever.
