Rolento's remarks were certainly racist and immature, but your ultra party-line "Obama has been fine, it's all the fault of the crazy republicans" sentiments aren't much better.
There's plenty of blame to go around, and Obama's "Bush on steroids" economic policies haven't been helping. Unfortunately those who would institute real reforms aren't popular with the mass media.
All of these were excellent sequels, though some of them (Read Dead, MGS) were so far removed from their prior entries that they were practically franchise reboots.
That said, I'm surprised to see no Zelda title on the list. ALttP was a huge leap over Zelda 2, and OoT was another successful transition. Speaking of Nintendo, Mario 64 also pretty much defined 3D platforming.
Oh, and GTA3. Hard to ignore that one. And for our current generation, COD4 is ...
I just can't take these guys seriously when they spout complete BS like this.
Muzyka saying "ME3 is the best game we've ever made" is no different from when Todd Howard was telling us "Skyrim is the least buggy game we've ever made".
Give us a break! No rational person would ever believe these utterly ridiculous claims. Just admit the game was rushed out and be honest with your customers.
Looks great. I'll probably pick it up as well.
That's my feeling as well. This is exactly the type of game that would benefit from a below $60 price point.
Despite the mixed reviews, I'm still interested in it, but not so interested that I can't wait until it hits $40.
Yeah, core games are dead. That's why big games for the core market were so scarce last year, and in 2012 the market is really scaling back.
It's not like Halo 4, The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Darksiders 2, Far Cry 3, Diablo 3, Assassin's Creed 3, Resident Evil 6, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Grand Theft Auto 5, Max Payne 3, Hitman Absolution, Black Ops 2 and at least a dozen other AAA core titles are hitting this year...

The article isn't really about ditching Forge, so much as whether it should be replaced with a full terrain editor a la Far Cry 2:
"What do you think? Would Halo be better off with a full fledged map editor, or just the object moving Forge mode?"
Personally I think a full map editor would be great, especially if it let you toss in AIs and use waypoints to give them patrol routes. Imagine creating both multiplayer and single-player arenas. Th...
@STONEY4
Yeah, and Thief had a number of other luminaries like Ken Levine working on it as well. There was a crazy amount of talent at Looking Glass Studios.
Advanced Warfighter is a third person shooter, not an FPS.
I think the list is ok, though the lack of Borderlands 2 seems odd. I'm also pretty interested in Prey 2 and Metro: Last Light - just hope the later keeps the stealth and haunting atmosphere of 2033.
Bethesda has dabbled in mobile gaming before with the N-Gage, so it's not that surprising that they would look into iOS.
Since they're a pretty huge company now, I wouldn't fret over them pulling any key talent away from their bigger projects.
GT's review was fine. People need to stop getting their panties all up in a bunch over scores that are below 8/10.
And I still think Namco Bandai is moronic for using demand for a port of a Wii game from 2009 to judge whether Xillia should get localized or not. If they had any sense, Tales of Xillia would already have a western release date.
I thought R3's campaign was excellent and easily the best in the series.
And please, let's not turn this into a fanboy Halo-bashing circle jerk. Halo is awesome for totally different reasons. If you can't see how it helped shape the genre, go do some research instead of making yourself look immature.
No, there is room in the market for multiple retailers. And your argument supposes that the only factor people consider when buying is price, which just isn't true.
Price is powerful, but some buyers may value the convenience of having a store nearby. Other customers are not strictly "gamers", such as a parent buying a game for their kid, and they may want the advice that store reps can offer, etc.
There's no sense is desiring a monopoly...
I also did a double take, but actually *expected* that I was reading it wrong the first time :)
Thought process: "FFvsXIII almost finished? No, that can't be right..."
At this point, Square Enix should just roll with the absurdity. Maybe release a countdown site ticking off the seconds until we get a trailer hyping the release of the "information".
Seriously, this is Japan's problem. They don't need to im...
It's a video, not an article.
And he's not insulting Journey. Quite the opposite.
You anti-Jim trolls should at least know your enemy. Maybe try countering some of the (actually good) points he makes in this episode?
Note: His main point is that most art games are "me too" games - cash-ins similar to the many me-too COD FPS clones, but they get a pass because of their genre. Only a scant few games like Journey actually...
That's right, "gandorf" is one of the biggest game characters out there! . . .
Seriously, if you're going to argue that a character is in the same league as Mario or Master Chief, at least spell his name right. It's Ganondorf, aka Ganon. And why you would choose him instead of Link or Zelda eludes me.
And Dhoulmagus? Really? He only plays a big role in DQVIII (with a minor appearance in IX). Why choose him as the representative of th...
It will happen eventually, just not in the next 2-3 years.
There will come a point at which the market share lost isn't worth the margins gained, and when that scale tips, the major players will drop physical media.
I don't expect it to happen next gen, but those talking like it will never happen are just deluding themselves.
What about the multiplayer? It surprised me and turned out to be a total blast back in the day. The transforming really made a difference when facing other players, and the four classes were actually all rewarding to master, with different advantages depending on the match type.
Even in the campaign, I'd say overall the transforming was a bit more impactful than you felt it was, particularly during boss fights and some of the more unique stages (such as those that let y...
I still prefer Indigo Prophecy to Heavy Rain, though I appreciate what both games were trying to do.
While I enjoy them for what they are, I can also totally understand people disliking these types of games. It can sometimes feel like the act of playing the game *gets in the way* rather than adds to the story, and the occasional sequences that exist solely to make you do QTEs without moving the plot forward at all are just cumbersome.
Basically, this genr...
Darksiders 2 is looking awesome, and I would honestly be fine with them keeping the series single player. But hey, if they can pull off co-op without compromising the single player gameplay, then I certainly won't complain.
I might feel a little sad if the last 2 horsemen don't get as much characterization as Death and War though. Hopefully all 4 riders get fleshed out.
