Lots of good fixes. Bethesda should really look at these and other "fix" mods (such as the mods that fix nirnroot glow stacking and multiple Louis Letrush clones hanging out in front of Whiterun) and incorporate them into the next console patch.
Mods like these really do make the PC version of Skyrim a far more polished game.
Awesome. The first is far and away the best horror game this gen. Hopefully development goes smoothly enough to hit that release window.
Some people have legitimate complaints about Skyrim (such as those who suffered from a lagging framerate on PS3), but a lot of the complaints are so trivial and pathetic that they drag the legitimate complaints down.
Unfortunately, with a larger audience comes more idiots who can't see the big picture and simply whine about the game not having multi-hit combos and air juggling.
Saying Revelations is Brotherhood is giving Rev too much credit. Both games are filler compared to AC2, but Brotherhood at least moved the story forward in a somewhat interesting manner.
I only hope AC3 goes back to the multiple cities and real plot development that made AC2 stand out. The conclusion better not be another "tune in next time!" setup to drag things out.
Most complex story ever told? Only until Lollipop Chainsaw comes out...
Just make sure to follow the instructions after applying the patch. According to Bethesda:
1. To ensure the fastest jump in performance after applying the patch, be sure to first create a new manual save by entering the save menu and choosing “save game.” You should then restart your PlayStation 3 before continuing to play.
2. If you encounter strange behavior while playing immediately following application of the patch, do not be alarmed – this is a temporar...

Some textures show a bigger improvement than others, but overall it's definitely a step up. Beth really should have released something like this day 1 for PC players.
That's exactly it. Both consoles might have more life in them (especially the PS3 with bluray) if they had been packed with at least a gig of RAM, but with their current memory limitations the reality is there's only so much optimization you can do.
Ambitious games that have a lot going on often have to sacrifice resolution or frame rate for the hardware to keep up.
That's what I'm thinking. This game just has one of those "so bad it's good" vibes.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I don't mean to justify the Borgias' actions (or certainly not the Nazis).
It's simply that the article's author stated that the real-life Borgias caused Rome to descend into chaos, which isn't historically accurate.
Like most smart despots, they won over people to their side by benefiting some groups over others. The Nazis did the same. In no way does that justify the atro...
Also, if you like shooting soldiers who rush out to take up position right beside explosive barrels :)
Yeah, although his description is a little off. In reality, while the Borgias were bad for the other Italian city states (and the Church), they were actually good for Rome. They renovated many of the distressed areas, as well as lowered poverty and crime.
Of course, even the Nazis did some good things before they went all genocidal, so take that with a grain of salt.

"Uncompressed textures looks great. (something 360 can't do with old DVD)"
Oh god, console-only gamers need to get it through their heads that texture quality is determined by RAM, not the size of your optical media. Do you think the textures in PC games are decided by how big your hard drive is?
Yes, you could put a 5 gig texture on a bluray disk, but you would never be able to actually display it, since it would need...
The problem is that, by these standards, the same generalizations can be made about almost every sequel. If Oblivion and Skyrim are "the same game", then the same must also be said for virtually every series out there.
Amalur looks promising in many respects, but I honestly wish it borrowed a bit more from games like TES in respect to freedom of exploration.
Things like the invisible walls, lack of jumping, and inability to cross a low patch of rock...
While not necessarily a good trend, this doesn't exactly spell doom either.
Naughty Dog admitted doing the same with Uncharted 3, saying they came up with the big set piece moments first and then filled in the game's story afterwards. Yes, it's a Michael Bay approach, but if your writers are talented enough something good can still result.
And yet, look at the early years of the PS3. There was a time when MS had plenty of exclusives and "PS3 has no games" was the common conception, but people still bought PS3s. They loved their PS2s, and trusted Sony to eventually get things together.
I wouldn't underestimate brand loyalty. There are plenty who like Live, prefer the 360 controller to the dualshock, etc. MS certainly has more fans now than they did with the original Xbox. Plus they'll likely pu...
We'll see if bookshelves turn out to be the real culprits.
Considering that Fallout 3 and New Vegas suffered from similar lag issues on the PS3, I'm not yet convinced that this is really the core problem. I'd love to be wrong, but until I hear from actual players that things are fixed, I'll remain skeptical when it comes to Bethesda's promises.
MS has also done a good job in positioning the 360 as the console to get for multiplatform games. When people think "Call of Duty", they tend to think Xbox.
Whether or not that's a good thing is personal preference, but you can't say it hasn't been effective.
Art =/= screenshot
From the description, this sounds like a Move-based answer to Crytek's Ryse for the Kinect, waving each arm separately to control your swords/sword and shield, etc.
At least it gives you the option of using a gamepad, but the game is clearly being designed as a motion control title. I wouldn't expect anything like God of War or Mortal Kombat.
Sounds like a fair review. Similar to recent Final Fantasies, Mistwalker prioritized story over exploration in TLS.
I'll be getting both Xenoblade and this, so I'll have the best of both worlds :)
