Actually, I think Ezio is a step in the right direction. He definitely makes for a better fit with the rest of the cast than characters like Spawn or Vader.
I just hope there is no big catch to getting rid of the lag, such as reduced environmental detail or bodies and clutter disappearing as soon as you exit and re-enter an area, etc.
SCV would have a ton of preorders in Japan with or without this ad. Heck, the article even mentions that Namco Bandai gave the go-ahead to make the game based on vocal consumer demand.
Yes, sex sells, but this particlar instance isn't really the best example of proving it.
So Halo 3 looked great, but ODST was an ugly piece of crap, and Reach looked worse than 3?
I'm at a bit of a loss for how anyone can reach this combination of conclusions without putting on the bizzaro glasses.
While it's worth the price, there have already been several $29.95 sales and I expect we'll see even lower than that within the next month or two.
Prices always drop after the holidays.
I understand that there are plenty of people who haven't played X-COM, but even if you've never touched the series, this is good news for turn-based strategy fans in general.
If you enjoy games like:
Civilization
Final Fantasy Tactics
Fire Emblem
Disgaea
Tactics Ogre
Advance Wars, etc...
Then there's a good chance you would enjoy X-COM, and hopefully this new iteration. Like Civilization Rev...
Yeah, according to a previous interview we're getting limited BT in multiplayer:

It's based not on a proximity bubble, but on line of sight.
@UNCyrus This just shows how young most of the N4G audience is. Looking at the comments, "old school" apparently means fairly new series like Kingdom Hearts to many of the users here.
In any case, an X-COM game by Firaxis sounds amazing. If anybody can resurrect this classic turn-based strategy series right, it's Sid Meiers & Co.
The "nothing for core gamers" argument is just vapid. Yes, I bought 3 PS3 exclusives (Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3) and only one 360 exclusive (Gears 3...holy crap every exclusive I bought was a part 3!) in the last year, but despite that, I ended up playing both consoles about equally.
You have to look at the whole picture. Downloadable titles like Bastion and Shadow Planet were a lot of fun, and there were a number of multiplats that I preferred to get fo...
Ho boy, has Gearbox got a surprise for you!
I have secret information (from some guy at GameStop) that a gay Duke Nukem who is politically correct and negotiates nonviolent peace treaties with hostile alien races is on the way!
I loved 2033, so I'll definitely be looking forward to Last Light!
Also Risen 2 for some pirate RPG goodness. Hopefully the console version is done well this time.
It's the lesser hyped titles that I'm most excited for in 2012. Games like Prey 2, Dishonored and Darksiders 2 are what I'd really like to see more info on.
Sorry if I came off as combative :) I enjoy debating, and took your "taken" language to mean the idea was stolen or directly adapted from.
The point is that you can look at something and read more into it than is really there if that's your goal. Conspiracy theories in general simply stand out as a prime example of this. Anything from UFO sightings to 9/11 can be made to appear like part of some grand scheme if you're willing to get creative with the evidence.
Heck, I could site your own post above as an example. You stated: "The trinity was not formed by Xtians, it was taken/borrowed"
...
If you approach something with a specific intention to find X, you can usually read most anything into the material (just look at conspiracy theories).
Still might be an interesting read, but the premise is certainly curious.
Games that only have a cult following like Shenmue aren't really worth a huge investment to secure exclusivity.
Honestly, the games that would be the biggest system sellers are also the ones that would be the most expensive to secure (and thus defeat the purpose of locking them down, at least for the near term). Games like COD or Elder Scrolls would clearly sway many buyers to whoever snapped them up, but I just can't see Sony or MS putting out the crazy amount of mon...
By that time 6 more firmware updates will have already released :)
But those "fun little gaming distractions" are raking in a lot more money than the dedicated devices.
I think you've got it backwards. The pressure isn't for Apple to narrow their market and make more dedicated devices. It's for the other guys to broaden their market for the mainstream.
Dedicated gaming portables may not vanish any time soon, but you're going to continue to see more and more publishers putting big resources into smar...
As the article points out, the biggest PS3 exclusives on the horizon are *not yet confirmed for 2012*.
Games like The Last of Us, The Last Guardian and FF Versus XIII look great, but whether they will definitely hit in 2012 or not is still unknown.
Actually, the headline is a bit misleading as far as "new" goes.
Rune Factory has been out in NA and Japan since October, and is simply now getting released in Europe. I used to be a fan of the series, but by most accounts Oceans/Tides of Destiny is one of the worst installments.
As far as hurting your wallet... Contrary to popular belief around here, not every exclusive is a must buy.
