I want to be able to have multiple machines and not have to download the same game twice as a result.
That means a fixed Nintendo ID as alluded to in the article and comments.
Big News in this article, if true.
Games are now attached to NintendoID? Nintendo needs to talk to customers about this!
It's EA - don't expect a miracle
Things must be just DISMAL at Naughty Dog, for her to move to an EA studio of all things?!
Yikes!! Amy!!!
@Concertoine @aerisbueller
It isn't just about "raw power" it is also about "throughput", and it is inarguable that a Wii U is far more efficient and has far better throughput (and lesser raw power).
To take advantage of throughput though, does mean that the software has to be designed on the PPC, not a legacy X86 and ported.
People have failed to grasp that on a "throughput basis" the Wii U "may" a...
Perhaps Sony is having difficulty meeting payroll?
That ... or maybe Nintendo is hiring them away? :)
Even if it the rumour is true - and even if Titanfall is a fantastic game .... they have lost a customer.
Stop feeding the child .... it dies.
It's not a joke - it is a mean spirited shot at Wii U owners, and Nintendo.
It isn't like this is the first time for EA either.
I like my Wii U thank you very much. When a publisher goes out of its way to call my purchasing decision stupid, I just really want to go out of my way and not touch their product; not for the PS3, Wii U, PC or PS4. I doubt that I'm the only person at the moment who won't buy EA product.
Peter - I a...
I'm willing to bet $10,000 US that Nintendo doesn't go bankrupt in the next 2 years.
I do real analysis on companies and this analysis is the worst piece of nonsense I've ever seen.
Limited? Lets get it straight, NYC_Gamer, it is running on newer PPC hardware instead of the "limited" legacy x86 hardware.
The issue is that that software houses would rather develop on X86 as they know it better, and there are more users on that platform.
herbs nailed it!
They want to stick with legacy x86, and x86 needs LOTS of power to "drive". If they go to PPC, that means a separate set of programming - ports don't often cut it.
Nice if he just said it though!
and it won't sell.
Look how all the other "cut rate content" games did on the Wii U.
Darksiders 2 looks like a good deal. 85% on Metacritic, so may have to pick this one up.
I've worked with software companies at a senior level for many years. The problem with the Wii U is obvious to those of us in the industry; Nintendo has obliquely addressed the issue.
The issue is that they are not running x86, which everyone else is, so it requires specialized coding. That costs $, and the base isn't big enough to spread the cost over. If Nintendo put all their platforms on the same system (this is what Nintendo obliquely referenced), they would h...
Lot of disagrees. I'm surprised. PCs have always been better gaming machines, other than for the controls and the hookup in the livingroom.
If Steambox resolves that ... Steambox will garner most of the multi-platform games.
Okay, I have to stop you on this "little more powerful" stuff. It just isn't accurate.
For raw power, PS4 and Xbox1, you are correct, but that is on legacy x86. If you compare THROUGHPUT (and that is a very tough comparison right now, given it requires native code), Wii U is very likely at the same level.
Wii U runs on less raw power, but has up to date technology that runs MORE EFFICIENTLY.
So "powerful" ... is r...
Not quite right - Wii U is the perfect companion for Steambox.
Yeap, Wii U stars in our home too.
I just plug it into a cord. Eventually I'll get around to buying the bigger battery.
