And this is the reason that EVERYONE should join operation #Platinum and purchase Bayonetta 2.
.... not only is it a fantastic game, but it makes the point with the Ubisofts of the world that quality "mature" product sells.
Hasn't been released so I haven't seen the Wii U version and how it runs on a Wii U Gamepad, so I don't have the answer; clearly you don't either.
No, I'm not mad. The definitive (best) version of Deus Ex was on the Wii U ... and outside of the game fixes, that was due to the gamepad. The difference in graphics will be marginal, as compared to gameplay.
If you had used the Wii U gamepad you'd begin to understand why it can make a sig...
Game is worth $60 if they:
1) throw in DLC (they aren't); or
2) critical reviews push the Wii U version of this game beyond the 80 Metacritic score received to something approximating 90. (we'll see)
Anybody I know that is seriously into games, has a terrabyte drive. They are inexpensive.
There is a possibility that the Wii U version (given the Gamepad) is the "best" version.
If the critical reviews support that thesis, then I'll be buying. If it is just the so-so reviews I've seen to date, I'll pass, at least until the price comes down to a so-so price.
I didn't check ... I wouldn't have bothered with this click bait if I'd seen it was Polygon.
Ugh!
I'm not sure of game of the year, but I am sure that it is better than B1 in a direct comparison, that I do like the large levels, and that most of the industry seems to agree with me.
Night, night Mike.
First game was Star Trek - text version ....

Yes, I was into video games before most of you were born ;)
(I don't really consider Pong to be a video game - it is, but ...)
Bayonetta 2
Funny, but I don't see anyone complaining about the overtly masculine men in games? I'll never live up to their standards of bulging body parts.
I strongly suspect most feminists (male and female) are "equity" feminists, as opposed to "gender" feminists. Some of these gender feminists are such nut jobs that they claim that any consensual intercourse is rape. So much for the human population!
Bought mine online at e-shop. Took forever to download - must have been a lot of people hitting it.
I don't know where you get your gamecount, but the first ones to catch my eye were "Plants Vs Zombies" and Rocksmith. Plants didn't make an 80 score, and Rocksmith didn't even get a score for this generation console.
Worse, a lot of these are PS3 and 360 games. If you're going to put those on the list (I don't think they should be), there are a lot of Wii Games that should be on the list too.
Sorry, but I call you on BS.
If it is a monetary choice between Watchdogs and Bayonetta, I'd agree with you and go with Bayonetta as well, based on ratings alone.
Yes, I'll support by buying. Is it what I want? No. But I want M games on the Wii U and this silliness about not supporting a company that brings an AAA title to the Wii U for whatever reason, needs to stop.
We ALL want good "M" 3rd party titles on the WII U.
I agree Bayo 2 first, but I think this is a good second title for those who want M game. Bayonetta 2 isn't to my tastes really (more likely to enjoy Watchdogs), but I'll pick it up because of both its superb ratings, and wanting to support M games on the Wii U.
Am I annoyed at Ubisoft? Yes. Especially regarding Watchdogs DLC. Should people still buy it? Absolutely.
Not true. The coding for the Wii U is different too. Plus you have to QA all that, and coming from a software company, I know how long that can take. We don't like shipping new versions for exactly that reason.
I'm planning to pick up this and Bayonetta 2. Anyone who wants M games on the Wii U should certainly consider doing the same.
Just as Deus Ex was the definitive version on the Wii U, I fully expect Watchdogs definitive version to be on the ...
Actually, I want a SECOND Wii U for my basement. And as soon as Nintendo unifies their online ID system so I don't have to buy games twice for the same system in my house, I'll be buying.
Bayonetta - not really my type of game at first view, but a game that highly rated deserves a place in my collection.
Now if we can get Fatal Frame :)
I agree with you - I wouldn't justify on just one game (though I did buy an Atari ST just for Sundog- totally worth it).
As an old guy, I find more than enough to play on the Wii U. While I wasn't a fan of the Nintendo genre of games I found that I actually enjoyed many of them, once I got into them. (Zelda WW was great).
If Nintendo and others sees this genre sells on the Wii U, there will be more ... like Fatal Frame.
I'll be picking up both Zelda and Splatoon
