Bayonetta doesn't appeal to me either, but I'm still getting it. Why?
Because the critics and scores indicate this is a "must have" and I've found many games like that, that I would not have otherwise played.
The secondary reason is that I want Wii U to have more mature games, and every purchase helps.
$50 if you buy online :)
I wasn't going to buy this (barely have enough time to play all the fantastic titles that have come out for the Wii U recently). This isn't really a genre I have ever gotten into either.
However .... a 10/10 score on Gamespot means it should be on the shelf, and I'm buying. I'll be buying it online though .. only spend $50 and see if I want to spend the extra $10 after that :)
I understand - only so many much money. I do believe this is the least costly console though, with game pack-in and no cost to play online.
Hope you're able to get one soon :)
I'm hoping this means I can finally purchase a second machine for my basement, without having to repurchase all of our games again.
Wonderful 101, Deus Ex, DKTF, Rayman Legends, and Pikmin 3.
A few more non Mario/Zelda reasons ... all very well rated and worth it.
I understand the reluctance to have multiple systems but ... well ... there are so many AAA Wii U games, the system is totally worth it. Go get one.
"Is Gamespot kissing and making up with Nintendo fans for more hits and clicks?"
No, almost every gaming review has it at a 9 or 10.
A LOT of reviewers have rated it a 10, not just Gamespot. It won't release on PS4 - time to get a Wii U to supplement the PS4 like many others. Ratings ...
Joystick, Destructoid and Edge gave it a 10. Others ..

Nah - Polygon hit them on the sexual subject matter. I personally think hitting any game on that (unless it negatively impacts gameplay) is a crock.
You need a Wii U to go with that PS4 ... really. :)
Should become one :)
Damn ... I had hopes of getting to play Donkey Konga with my daughter :(
I noticed the Wii U coming up over the PS4 this week, so perhaps those abysmal hardware numbers have more to do with good software - which at the moment Wii U has more and more of.
Per watt of power, the Wii U is more powerful than the PS4 or the Xbox1. That is because the Wii U runs on newer processing technology.
PS4 and Xbox1 are nominally faster simply due to having far more power to play with. In truth, the Wii U is not that far off from the PS4 or Xobx 1 on processing throughput.
I'm an adult and I prefer the Wii U and its games. I've been gaming since the 70s when I used a keypunch machine to program the computer ;)
Didn't read the article, but I immediately agree with " if people wanted a tablet, they would buy a tablet".
I love the Wii U gamepad, but a tablet it isn't.
So .... just to throw another wrench into the conversation ... the Wii U doesn't have the same raw power, but its framerates, resolutions etc have been very good.
"Raw Power" =! throughput

Wii U is next gen. It is in the current generation of systems.
Don't believe it? Look at how many 1080P 60fps games are already on the Wii U. Still don't believe it because its specs are not as good as a PS4? Then let me clarify something for you ...
.... none of X1, PS4 or Wii U are "next gen" ... because the true next gen console is the PC and Steam.
Really, this next gen argument is the dumbest thing I've heard. I...
