There are good multiplats out there, but a PC covers most of that. The only reason for a console is the exclusives and Wii U has more (highly rated) of those.
Between a PC (which on a hardware basis beats everything), low cost Steam games, and my Wii U, I have most bases covered.
Why would I want a console beyond the Wii U, instead of a good PC?
I was programming when you were 5 .... the list IS cool if you're into games.
If I were a teenybopper I'd be into fashion and what is deemed "cool" rather than great games.
At what cost? Lemme think - you get $50 a year over 5 years plus $350 for a $400 console ..... I think there is a profit there, sorry.
Maybe not $200 but a profit none the less, not to mention future profits from software sales.
Not quite all that matters. The profit is short-term. The long-term profit is based on the number of consoles in the market and the attach rate.
You think MS is losing money on those console sales? Maybe, but keep in mind they pick up an extra $50 a year for online play which is $200 - I think they are laughing all the way to the bank.
Nintendo on the other hand made short term profit, but didn't get its consoles into the marketplace, which is a DISAST...
I think they saw something else, something I saw. Nintendo did virtually NOTHING to push units out. An increased price bought you more games with the console, but Nintendo has it wrong.
Nintendo needs to lower the price (and I already own one, so it doesn't help me) during the holiday season to put more units in the field, which will result in more games purchases.
They should be selling a 32GB units with a single "older" game for $199 on the ...
I wasn't remotely interested till I saw the demo - I think Yoshi will be a hit, if they have enough marketing to get people to look at it.
1) Zelda U
2) Splatoon
3) X
4) Uncharted 4
5) Star Fox
Bayonetta 2 of course. Is this a serious question?
Ahh .. .if we are talking "calendar year" then "perhaps" Smash Bros.
Great analysis ... that map is HUGE :) Can't wait!!
I was surprised Smash Bros wasn't on that list, and that Wii Play was (ahh that's right - pack in with controller).
I agree, there were not many Wii U sales when I looked. That was a bit disappointing as I suspect they could have put more consoles into user hands, increasing the base.
That being said, I'm wondering if there just weren't as many in the stores/delivered to stores, so there was no point in having a sale?
Really? I had never played Mario Cart, Bayonetta 1 and 2, Earthbound or Smash Bros, and now I have a problem deciding what to play next, given limited time.
I buy the same type of games the PS4 and X1 audience buy - good games. Simple. That is why I likely won't be buying Watchdogs, given the ratings.
Bayonetta 2 is without question doing 500,000 units, and there areonly 7MM consoles. It is a fact that 7% for a mature title is "good" sell through.
What do I need the blue ray storage for?
Disk storage - For $50 I now have TWO TERRABYTES on my Wii U!
Funnier still ... I can't find that quote coming out of Nintendo. Close ... but you missed the word "as". So while casual are not AS loyal that doesn't mean they are completely disloyal. Get your FACTS STRAIGHT.
You previously said the Wii U couldn't keep up with 7th generation and I called you out on it and you again FAILED to back up your statement with FACTS.
All you manage to do is run off at the mouth, and look like a fool. You...
In fairness I think you far underestimate the WiiU's capabilities. In terms of raw power PS4 and X1 definitely win. In terms of "throughput" while they win, the difference is just not that dramatic, and the Wii U clearly beats 7th generation. Show me where you are getting the nonsense that it doesn't.
And lets not forget that during the 7th generation, when you claim they turned their back on gamers, they got people like myself IN THE DOOR. I'd be PC...
I'd buy CoD (which I haven't played before) for the Wii U in a heartbeat if they'd put it on the damn Eshop!
I don't want any more disks, it costs Activision a LOT more to deliver through retail channels, yet Activision still hasn't got its act together to deliver through Eshop.
Haven't played this, but it but on the face of it I'd agree that it isn't bad, based on Metacritic which shows it at an 82 (although user score is somewhat lower, it isn't way off).
Not as good as Bayonneta 2 or Smash Bros, but ... far better than Watchdogs that Ubisoft is trying to foist on Wii U owners.
Lack of games? No, just no. Lack of 3rd party games, but no lack of games.
Virtual console lacking? How?
Forcing gamepad? What? Frankly the gamepad improves most of the 3rd party games including Deus Ex and AC IV.
Weak Eshop deals I'll give you, as more subjective.
