If you're using a PC for gaming, you mean .. you bought a PS4 to play the "maybe" two exclusives worth playing on it?
Seriously?
The PS4 may be the "most powerful console on earth" but it is a piece of crap next to a good PC.
@DarkAstronaut.
Your numbers unfortunately are no better than VGchartz. For the US the sales numbers were a "rumour".
All your other figures relate to sales of Bayonetta in Japan were Bayonetta 1 (in spite of their being far more consoles out to play it on) didn't do well either.
I'd also point out that you are missing the e-shop sales where many of us (myself included)purchased a copy.
The "best"...
With the Wii U, you'd be fine. I probably have about 60 games on it, and probably 20+ are AAA ... and I don't think I'm much past 300 Gb.
I don't know about the other consoles, but the Wii U wouldn't make use of the USB 2.0 speeds.
I have a "LOT" of games on my 2 terrabyte USB 2.0 and haven't noticed it being slow, either.
Don't blame N4G, blame the main stream press.
Those @!#!@#! in the press are now daring to say that Nintendo's Wii U, given the great library games it has out, is the best console to pick up.
You'd think the press would take a clue from those people who have all three consoles and know for a fact ... huh? ... what? Wii U IS THE BEST CONSOLE "AT THE MOMENT"?
Oh!
I had a Wii last generation too, and by the end of the generation had moved to a PS3 and the Wii was generally idle.
It is kind of like McDonalds - those who sell the most aren't necessarily the best.
Now for this generation, there are many who have all three consoles who will tell you to get the Wii U, as would I. Not the same as the Wii, and at this point you can't go wrong given the large library of very high quality games. You're now deali...
I'd highly recommend you try out Zelda WW. That was my first Zelda game, and I loved every minute of it.
The main dish being a PC if you're smart about it. Lets face it, the PS4 and Xbox1 are just under powered PCs anyway.
Hah - I grew up programming with punch cards, wrote my own computer games, run a software company, and think those "kiddie" games are some of the best I've seen.
So ... who is really the kiddie here? The one who is afraid of peer pressure and playing the "kiddie games".
A good game, is a good game. Period.
I believe it, but that was due to Nintendo pushing out only very high quality product, whereas much of the third party product was junk - and that is undeniable.
You're right. The reason for the Wii U's slow start was a little Tsunami, which made a mess of production schedules that first year.
They're on track now and the uplift has been there since Zelda WW.
There also is the issue of quality versus quantity. I see consistent (to the point that it actually surprises me) quality from Nintendo.
The WiiU is certainly not struggling for games. There are about 450 games based on this list: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ Wii_U_software
Add to that the full Wii library plus the virtual games from older systems.
The PS4 and Xbox1 have under 400 games each (I didn't do the count, I'll let you) and can't play the PS3 or 360 back catalogues.
So now ... my opinion was based on logic and truth. Was yours?
Double Post
I think Nintendo just pointed to the Metacritic scores ... frankly 2014 was a disappointment for Xbox1 and PS4. I'd have to agree with Nintendo.
If you didn't know better, you'd think the journalists have done a 180, and are now unanimously coming out in favour of the Wii U.
I agree with them that the Wii U is the console to pickup. Lets see if the parents are listening.
I'd probably tend towards the PS4, only because a larger install base guarantees the 3rd party, if I were to choose.
Problem is that I'm not sure I see anything other than a temporary price advantage in getting a PS4 or Xbox1, when you can get a far better PC.
I think this is misleading. It is being pulled from the store. That doesn't mean you can't download it now and still use it later, does it?
Ewps!
You must think the best restaurant is McDonalds in that case :)
Hah - Who cares about the sales? Do we gamers get a share of them?
Lets be honest here. Profits matter. Sony is on its last legs and could be broken up at any point. If they are broken up, who is buying the gaming unit? Microsoft or Nintendo?
Microsoft is rumoured to have lost billions in this space, although admittedly they can afford it. But shareholders are itching for them to dump it. Who are they selling to? Well duh, Nintendo, because Sony can...
