Yeah I'd definitely heard about it before and it means nothing. Hideo is famous for MGS, so it makes sense that even if this is a completely different project, it's still "related" because it's from the same guy. It's like back in the day, searching for Unreal Tournament brought up lots of Gears of War info.
DMC backtracking aside, the RE5 demo showed you EXACTLY what you were getting with the game. You seen how (not) scary it was, you seen the item management, you seen everything the game has to offer. You're about the only person on the planet that thinks RE these days is meant to be scary. It's an action game, the "zombies" are mere cannon fodder and the Demo showed this quite well.
As for DMC, have you played any of the previous DMC games? They use more or less the same formu...
They've already Remade RE1 once and it's been ported to hell. I want a RE2 remake, it's easily the best in the series (or at least, the best in the older-style series, before 4 - after that YMMV) and deserves to be remade.
Demos were released for both games, so who's fault is it for buying them if you didn't like them?

raztad, that all sounds great in theory, but compression isn't just used to save space. Uncompressed assets are HUGE, orders of magnitude larger than their compressed brethren and quite honestly, be it the 360's DVD drive or the PS3's Blu-ray drive, the bottleneck in loading is the optical media. Disks are slow, I mean on a good day you'll get like maybe 15Mb/s (out of either drive, I'm not picking sides here). That's pretty damn slow and the speed it takes a processor to uncompress something...
How would that be a screw up? Even if that was the future (I wouldn't hedge my bets just yet), how would having an optical drive be a bad thing? The PS3 and 360 both have optical drives, but the PSN and Marketplace are doing just fine. What's wrong with having both?

Good enough for this generation, sure, you could argue that. And when the Ps1 was king, 700Mb was "good enough" (actually, quite a few PS1 games had multiple disks, but nobody cared back then). You can't really take comments that were made years ago and apply them today. The future involves going forward.
It's a 12Tb disc, not a drive. It would actually be the backup storage, not the main storage.
Plus, with the way technology is going, SSDs and all that, crazy write/read speeds are just around the corner. 12Tb is a lot today, but 10 years ago 1Tb was obscene, yet now its commonplace.

This isn't anything new at all and the article is actually misleading: MS isn't planning anything "more" to do to cheaters, they've been resetting gamerscores and branding them as cheaters for long enough now.
So a LOT of games use UE3. And a lot of games have problems. Is that proof that UE3 is bad, or proof that UE3 is popular and thus a "bad" game will make the engine look bad?
If those bad games used another engine, do you think it would immediately solve the issues they had? I don't think Unreal is the problem, I think the problem lies mainly with the developers themselves. Even BioWare admits this, they said they changed how they develop a level to prevent the same issues crop...
It's also worth keeping in mind that saying "can't run it" doesn't necessarily mean the console isn't powerful enough or something. If the engine has been designed from the ground up to use the PS3's SPUs, there's a very good chance that it wont easily port to the 360 from a purely technical point of view. It could possibly run the game with the same results, but require an entirely new engine design. It's akin to saying a diesel car wont run on Petrol. Does that make the car inferi...
Nintendo and Microsoft both have a stake in it. For it to appear on VC, it'll need to be able to be on XBLA.
Yeah I don't get this, it's just a pretty bog standard HDTV. And not a very good one at that.
Then again, I game on my PC Monitor - a cheapish 24" job, but capable of 1900x1200 resolution (Read: greater than 1080p). My sound is handled separately by a nice sony 5.1 system and since the monitor has a HDMI input, it's all gravy. Not bad for a cheapo setup.
Yeah a few friends and I tried playing it together, but the matchmaking system was just rubbish. I want to play MP games with my friends!
IW ward is in charge of this one, just because "vehicles" are in it doesn't mean it's going to be n00bish. IW are pretty good at balancing things.
I'm not sure its going to be a technical mess, the demos they've released so far are incredibly smooth, considering all that's happening on screen. I think Volition seems to know what they're doing. In fact, they brought the release forward, which usually indicates they're ahead of schedule (and thus less bugs have been found that needed fixing)
As for the real reason of the delay, who knows? It's probably less to do with piracy and more to do with making more money from console ...
