My only concern with this game is that it seems an awful lot like Quake Wars, just with more people. I remember being super excited for that game, the concept was fantastic, squad-based-objective-based gameplay with two sides constantly pushing each other back and forth. And when you think about it, MAG is kinda the same, but obviously with a LOT of people. And that's what worries me - Quake Wars came and went and didn't really set the world on fire. The gameplay just felt...stale...boring, i...
Considering the horrible grammar in this, I'm not sure it isn't just a terrible translation and "console" is simply referring to the actual Natal device.
"when my Xbox RROD I lost all progress"
Your save files are stored on the Hard Drive or Memory Unit, which can be plugged into another 360 easily. When a 360 RROD's, the console itself may need to be repaired, but your saves are still intact and Microsoft are quite clear that you are NOT supposed to send of anything other then the console - i.e. don't send your hard drive. Something tells me you're either not telling us the whole truth or you just made that up.
For a start, the unreal engine has it's own virtual machine, which is used to run its own scripting language (Unreal Script). This one thing is probably the most important part of the whole engine, because although its described as a "scripting" language, its very very powerful and advanced. Its not too dissimilar to Java and includes things like inheritance which makes creating games incredibly easy and simple.
Essentially, most of the game can be created and controlled throu...
Oh so because that ONE GAME only had 5v5 online, the whole engine is at fault? Never mind that there are several UE3 games with many more online players, that one game is proof that the engine has a problem?
I mean, it isn't a design decision for better gameplay or anything like that? Really?
Something that many people seem to forget about is that Epic constantly updates the Unreal Engine. The UE3 used in Gears 1 was much less advanced than the UE3 used in gears 2 and many of the games inbetween used different variations of it.
I think most people that complain about the engine have little understanding as to what a game engine actually is. I'll give you a clue: It's NOT just supposed to put shiny polygons on screen and although UE3 isn't the best LOOKING engine out there, i...
Show me just one engine that has the same feature-set (or better) that Unreal 3 does. No, really, show me, I want to know what I've apparently been missing out on.
Oh and let me clarify: An engine that LOOKS better graphically is not necessarily "better". Unreal Engine is more than just about making pretty pictures on screen.
The ads have ALWAYS been there, this isn't anything new, the only difference is that now they're full motion and have sound. But get this, unlike some annoying flash banners, the ads are only "active" when you highlight them. So really, its no different than before, unless you actually plan to look at the ads in which case they're "richer".
It's hardly fair lumping ALL PS3 fans into one category, I've seen many sensible posts from many sensible PS3 fans. Likewise, I've seen many idiotic, flame-bait posts from many 360 fans.
Remember, it's possible to be a fan without being a fanboy and fans, no matter what they're a fan of, are always welcome in my book.
In this industry, easy is synonymous with "cheaper". Its always worth keeping that in mind when you're wondering why so many developers are jumping on the 360, exclusive or multiplatform.
If history has taught us anything, it's to not listen to developers and wait until the final product hits shelves before deciding anything.
Halo wars was a great game, if your friend bought it just because it had the "Halo" name, then your friend is an idiot.
This was in development/production long before MJ's death.
Signed up over an hour ago, hope I'm one of the first.
I want a sandbox game based on syndicate so badly, I've been tempted to try and create one myself (a fangame) on more than one occasion. Come on, EA, give us Syndicate!
Maybe you should stick to the Open Zone then?
But no, Chrome OS is designed to be a LIGHTWEIGHT OS used for internet-centric tasks. I.e. browsing. Notice that google has Google Docs? Right away, all your letter and word processing needs are covered. So is email. Really, that's what 99% of computers are used for.
Combine that with things like last.fm and you've got everything an average user is going to need on an average day. But that doesn't mean its competing directly wit...
Give me Street Fighter IV with Natal Support and as a hardcore gamer, I'll be ecstatic.
HADOKEN!
I think the most important bit is where they stated that some games will use BOTH the controller and Natal. Many people seem to be forgetting that little fact when they're criticising the device.
Yeah, google has a new OS...FOR NETBOOKS. Well done, genius!
It takes more than good looks to make a good game. Both of those points were irrelevant on the PC version anyway and it didn't help much.
