They didn't even say PS3 accounts, Kotaku just assumes that's what they meant.
There's always a "mute" button, you know. You'll find assholes wherever you go and there's nearly always a way to ignore them. Non-issue.
The really stupid thing is that special editions are about all that's left to "fight" piracy on the PC.
The PS3 plays a significant part of the industry, but that doesn't mean the 360 or Wii don't. Yes, even the Wii is shaping the industry, that's why MS has had a push towards "casual" gaming, that's why Sony are releasing their own motion wand. They all affect the industry, the only reason the Wii60 wasn't mentioned here is because the topic at hand IS the PS3.
You should start a gaming blog, you're awfully good at this "spin" stuff.
They've said on two separate occasions now that the game neatly splits into "two" with TWO major wastelands featuring in it. That's why it's 2 disks. Nobody is FORCING them to use 4, plenty of 360 games have used 4 disks before, it's a non issue.
And Sony makes money from sales of PS3 games, that's why they're happy to launch a new console at a loss. It doesn't matter how sony gets a price cut, the fact remains that a drop in price is a good thing for EVERYONE else. Sony isn't going anywhere, you know.
The article is referring to a report released TODAY, so yes it is actually reporting "something new". If a different article reporting the same report Sony released was approved earlier today, hit the dupe button, but don't blame this particular article for it.
How can you honestly say you DON'T want a price cut? Are you that naive?
Think about the bigger picture here, games are expensive to develop, so more sales means more return. More consoles out there means more sales and a price cut means more consoles. Doesn't matter if it's the PS3 or the 360, developers are the ones that really need it, so don't be silly and pretend that a price cut wouldn't help the ENTIRE industry.
It's two DVDs, not 4. I don't know where they got 4 from, even doom 5 is only going to be 3.
Stupid PS3! We could have twice the framerates on most of our games if it wasn't for it holding us back!
</sarcasm>
I don't see this report trying to spin anything, there's no reason to get any fanboy feathers ruffled.
Lets face it, recovering economy means everyone's going to be feeling the pinch, that includes BOTH MS and Sony.
Webcam sex? Feck that, I'll stick to having real sex with real girls in real life.
I think this article is trying to spin an already bad state of affair for Microsoft into an even worse one, completely needlessly:
"if Microsoft want under-agers to be prevented from downloading age restricted material from the marketplace, why are under-age gamers permitted to play R16 and R18 games using child Gamertags?"
Because it's illegal to SELL those titles to someone who is under-age, but it's not illegal for them to play them. It's up to the paren...
The more I watch this trailer, the more I want the game.
I reckon the future, beyond "3D" is going to be "interactive" films. Like basically Machinima, but rendered in real time so you can watch the action however you see fit. It'd be pretty cool, there could be like a "director's version", which is how it was intended and then you could do your own "cut" and move cameras and stuff in real time all you like. Imagine something like the Matrix, but with you being able to control what you see and when you see it...
Considering how big Microsoft is, how many countries it operates in and how many Patents and such they tend to step on, it's not really a surprise that they spend so much on legal aid. Hey, didn't Microsoft take a bunch of spammers to court? Nobody's thanking them for that, it seems.
First to go backwards in reliability? What about the Dreamcast? They die all the time (although it's an easy fix, blow off some dust from inside it). And the PS2? Those launch models sure as hell had a habit of dying, particularly the DVD drive's laser.
I'm not saying the 360's unreliability is to be expected, or that it's somehow justified, I'm just saying your little rant is stupid.
Put it this way, if Microsoft lost one of these cases, they'd have to make it up to EVERYONE, not just the guy suing them.
It's FREE to get the 360 fixed, for up to 3 years. Why did you open the case? that was a silly thing to do and NO electronics manufacturer is going to honour a warranty if you do that. If you opened the case of your PS3 and it died 2 weeks after you bought it, Sony wouldn't fix it for free, either. That part was your fault.
I don't care if it changes the quality as long as it's for the better.
