sack_boi: Completely different matter, try reading the article for once.
Why are Microsoft the ones being called out on this? Sony are just as bad, but really it's the publishers that are to blame.
Anyone know if this game will charge an MMO style subscription?
And no, XBL doesn't count.
Because Natal is just a fancy Live Vision cam, right? Yeaaaahhh...
STOP MAKING S*** UP!
Thanks.
Weird, I was just thinking today about Deus Ex 3, I was wondering how it was doing since we've not really heard much in a while, don't think there was even much info at E3. Glad to hear it's going well, Deux Ex is a fantastic game. Shame about Invisible war.
NJShadow - Easy, if you look at ANY PS2 game, when you go to save it, a specific message appears, something like "Saving game, please do not turn off your PlayStation 2 System or remove the Memory Card (PS2)". So on the PS3, if it still mentions PS2 stuff, the original game is just being emulated. If it mentions, anywhere, the PS3, then it's running native on the PS3 since it'd have to be recoded for it. It's essentially an easy way to tell if its being emulated or not.
They're basing this on the fact that a Buzz game is on the store. I've not downloaded it myself, so I can't comment, but has it just been ported or is it being emulated? Easy way to tell, go save a game and see if it tells you not to turn off your PS2 or PS3 console.
You don't HAVE to buy it, it's specifically for those who are fans of the game. I'm glad I got my CE of Bioshock and Mass Effect, for example.
I'll wait and see what's in it before I judge.
I think he means Threeth.
Ahhh but there we are, Capitalism works on an open market, but when the market is closed, people can easily take advantage of it. This is why you don't want a "one-console generation". This is why no matter what console you prefer, you should always support the competition and not just be a sad fanboy. Do you think the PS3 would be as open as it was if it wasn't for the 360 coming out a year before it? Do you think the NXE would have even existed had it not been for the Nintendo Wii...
Open Hardware doesn't make Sony any money. Closed hardware does, however, make Microsoft a LOT of money. I hate it as much as you, I find the prices of most 360 hardware absolutely disgraceful, but I completely get why Microsoft does it: It's just good business.
Capitalism, eh?
Indeed he does, I don't buy this article at all, I've had a 120Gb HDD since September last year and I've barely used half of it - and I install a lot of games.
Microsoft doesn't use specific drives at all, they use a variety of 2.5" Laptop Hard drives, the difference is they have a special security sector on them so that the 360 will use them. It's not needed, it's a bit like DRM for Hard Drives. Other than that, the drive is just a standard drive.
I've got a better suggestion: Microsoft, release a 360 HDD drive shell and let those with a tiny bit of technical knowledge use their own Hard Drives.
A PS3 install is not the full game, only a small part of the game. A 360 install is the FULL game. In other words, you can't compare them directly. Apples > Oranges.
Wow, this couldn't be any more vague if it tried.
In other news: Some title will be coming to some platform that it wasn't on before. Fanboys rejoice.
The Live vision camera is, in every way except for a mic, the same as the PSEye. Same deal, same things possible. If you look at "You're in the movies", you'll see very similar things going on that you see with the eyetoy, the difference is that Microsoft never really invested a lot into developing software to do a lot of those things, whereas Sony did. But now Microsoft has software and if it really was just the same, they wouldn't need new hardware for it. But I've said this befor...
Port Shenmue 1 and 2 to the PS3/360 as a 2in1 game and I bet Sega will easily rake in enough profit to pay for Shenmue 3.
