Halo 3 had 4-player split screen. Show me a better looking game with that feature.

But that's the thing, Xbox Live had such a terrible reputation for "whiny racist kids", now people are complaining that you can't hear anyone when playing online. You can't please everyone.
It'd be nice to have an option for both party and ingame chat, so you can chat with your friends and still talk ingame, although it'd require developers to add a "push to talk" button for everything for it to really work.

On the other hand, at least all the ads are in the one place, as opposed to every single tab. Swings and roundabouts I guess.

You can't say nobody would pay for it in just the same way that I can't say that everyone would still pay for it. Some people JUST want to play online, some people want cross game chat, some people want everything. I have no doubt that less people would pay for gold but I think you'd be surprised at the amount who'd want the extra features as well.

I've always said that the RRP for Live was far too high, but that's ok - you don't have to pay that price. If you look around, you ca...

It doesn't matter what way you spin it, you don't JUST "pay to play online", that's just part of it. Sure, it's the part most people are interested in, but you do get more for your money than just that.

They're the same f****** thing with different names, give it a rest and do some real journalism for once in your life.
I don't care what game I'm playing or what console it's on, if it has some kind of reward system (achievements, trophies, unlockables, etc.) I always take a quick look at it and keep an eye out for the ones I can get during my playthrough. Doesn't matter to me what console it's on, I get the enjoyment from experiencing that little extra bit of the game I normally wouldn...

IT depends entirely what you mean by "DVD" and "Blu-ray". Blank, bog-standrd DVD-Rs you buy in stores are a shed-load more likely to scratch and get damaged than a properly pressed DVD film or game.
It doesn't matter, anyway. IF you treat them right, they'll be fine for years and years and years, if you don't, they'll scratch and break. Doesn't matter if it's blu-ray or DVD or CD, treat it right and it'll be fine.
When you buy a used game, it's supposed to come...

"will release in the UK day and date of the eighth anniversary of 9/11"

Key words: IN THE UK.
Not only is friday the normal day games get released in the UK, in the UK the date will actually be 11/9. I'm sure plenty of games are getting released on that day so stafoo already.

I'd be willing to bet it's a motion controller. Yes, I know that Natal is essentially a full body motion controller, but I reckon Microsoft will have their own wand-like device in the works, probably similar to that one we seen a couple of years ago that never materialised (The one that was two stuck together, I think they showed it working with Lego Star Wars). Imagine the full body movement of Natal combined with a highly accurate motion controller. Guess we'll wait and see.

Dear Microsoft: Take a hint from Nintendo's success and avoid the urge to penny-pinch. In other words, At Natal's launch, bundle it with about 6 small, fun and addictive little games for free and watch it fly off the shelf. Games like that breakout-style one you've been demoing and, absolutely, a bowling game.
Do that and Natal will rake in an absolute fortune.

I bought Crackdown after Halo 3 was released. Explain that one, Mr Genius.

Dragun619: Live gets you more than just being able to "play online". It gets you cross game chat, party support and now things like 1vs100, all included in the same price. The Free accounts are free to download demos and games and all that, there's no restriction on it (apart from new demos not being downloadable for the first week).

EXCLUSIVEGAMER: What on earth has the cost of various peripherals got to do with "problems" with the hardware? Go troll elsewhere. Like the Open Zone.

Yeah seriously, I just did some googling and I'm none the wiser. Anyone?

Sods law says that it's bound to happen to someone eventually. The thing is, the odds of it happening are extremely extremely low.
I think all these "My Console died so I'm going to whine about it" articles are stupid.

Plenty of articles on the RROD have been on N4G before. I don't see why those have any more precedent over this article. You can have neither or both, take your pick.
Personally, I'd rather have neither and stick to news about GAMES.

I don't think N4G has necessarily been "dry" on the news, I think the news in general has been a bit dry. After E3 and during the summer, things seem to die down a bit.

Keep in mind one thing, at least: Most of the PS3 failure reports we've seen recently have nearly all had one thing in common - out of warranty. That's not me having a go at Sony, but it shows that whatever IS causing PS3's to fail seems to be a delayed thing that takes over a year. The 360's, while they do fail often, tend to fail within the first year.
Basically, what I'm saying is that there's a small chance that the PS3's failure rate could go up quite considerably if there really i...

Pretty sure that 33% figure for failed 360's is vastly overblown. While I don't doubt that the failure rate is pretty high, probably double figures and far higher than any consumer product should ever be, I doubt it's really anywhere near 33%.
Sadly, we'll never really know just how many 360s have been faulty, for every person that says they're on their "6th" 360, there's someone (such as myself) who's lucky enough to have had no problems at all.

I'm not a huge fan of racing games, in fact Gran Turismo and Wipeout (if you can even class that as a "proper" racing game) are the only ones I've really enjoyed, but I'm really really looking forward to Forza 3.
