Why is everyone still debating over who will win between the 360 and the PS3? It's quite Evident that if the Wii's astronomical sales isn't enough to kill them, then the sheer competition between them isn't going to do it, either. No matter what argument you put forward regarding which is better between the 360 and PS3, the Wii beats both and we all know how we feel about that.
Face it, guys, between the 360 and PS3, it's about as close to a "draw" as you'll ever get in this b...
Out with the old, in with the new. Although it's a shame they couldn't make a special "360-only" patch just for Halo 2 so it could continue to go on Xbox Live. Then again, I guess some people would argue that they already did this and called it Halo 3.
Ah well, onward to reach!
This has nothing to do with Natal. This uses a regular camera (PSEye/360 Vision Cam). So...go away and quit trolling every time you see something relating to Natal?
Why should he have to buy another device (which isn't exactly cheap) when he already has one device capable of doing everything he needs? The only reason he "HAS" to is because Sony were lazy and thoughtless.
"there was no need to look into the depth of the ps3 since linux was supported in the first place."
Supported poorly, you mean. If you actually read up on it, you'll see how the Linux support was actually quite heavily gimped. No direct GPU access, for example. It's like being given a car that's missing an Axel and half of the Engine. Then, when you try to add the missing parts, having it taken off of you.
So it's the fault of the hacker for releasing a tool that CAN be used for Piracy, but has another purpose entirely?
Surely it's the fault of the person who uses the hacks/tools for nefarious purposes?
That's a bit like saying Ford are responsible for thousands of Deaths each year because they put a deadly weapon in the hands of Drunk Drivers, who then go on to crash into some unwitting pedestrian. Last I checked, when this happens, it's the driver that gets charged with man...
Part of the reason to having "Microsoft Points" is that it's a global currency. An 800 point game in the USA is still 800 points in Japan, Europe or Australia. All that changes is the points conversion rate.
This has a benefit of keeping things consistent on live, but a side effect (at least from my perspective) is it masks just how much you're really spending.
Too many times I see people saying "Oh this map pack is only 800 points", but when you work it...
Why is it cheaper to buy 2x800 point batches than it is to buy 1x1600 batch?
No! It's a completely different red ball game! IT HAS A NEW HAT!!!
I think the crickets are because nobody actually knows what the hell you're asking? They're dropping support for Xbox1 online simply because the platform is TIED TOGETHER with the 360's online services.
But since you asked, 4 platforms? OK
Xbox 360, Games for Windows LIVE, Zune HD and soon Windows Mobile 7 (and to a smaller extent, WM6.5 but nobody cares about that). There's your 4 platforms right there, all tied together into your Gamertag. Obviously, when Xbox Live first ...
Yeah but do Sony still support the PS2's online features?
I could never get into splinter Cell myself, got very bored very quickly but that's just me. I'm still going to give conviction a shot.
@Kratos Spartan
When I said "Blu-ray Disks", I meant "Blu-ray films", not games. Which, tbh, is a pretty good example to use as not EVERYONE who has a PS3 uses it to play Blu-ray films in much the same way that not everyone who owns a PS3 used it to install Linux (of course, I'm sure the numbers are vastly different, but that shouldn't matter, everyone buys a device for their own reasons and it's not right for Sony to decide what those reasons should have been...
The Motion control hating stopped? When?
IT's just an excuse from Sony because it's cheaper to drop support for OtherOS than anything else.
There hasn't been a SINGLE breach on PSN due to any of this hackery stuff, but more importantly, "OtherOS" isn't the key to hacking the PS3. Geohot has demonstrated and claimed (now I know there's no "proof" yet, but if anyone has any credability here, it's him) that he can restore OtherOS support on PS3s - possibly EVEN Slims, which don't have OtherOS at all. This mea...
Sorry, but no. I like being able to case mod my console, or replace the fans with better/quieter ones, or heaven forbid, replace a broken component without paying Sony or Microsoft a rediculous fee (£100 to fix a PS3 in the UK?!).
@gta2800
Lets not get two separate issues confused here. Geohot's "hack" and Piracy are NOT one and the same. So far, nothing he has released has in any way helped piracy on the PS3. All it has done is allow those who use Linux to get a little bit more out of the system.
Now, Sony disabled Linux support. Why? What harm was it actually doing? Nothing has been pirated, not a single developer has lost a single penny from any of this, yet potentially millions o...
The only reason Geohot began this stuff was because Sony locked down their Linux support in the first place.
And now Sony removed it all together, so he's used his knowledge to brign it back. If you want to be upset with anyone, be upset with Sony. All they had to do was patch their security flaws in OtherOS support and this never would have happened.
And all you people saying that Piracy is going to somehow cripple the PS£, let me ask you this - how come his Jailbreak...
How is it racist?
Yes, because the Uncharted and Killzone engines were used on hundreds of games as well, weren't they? Oh wait, they weren't. You obviously don't get it, the Unreal engine was designed for developers to make games of all kinds with, not for one or two specific games.
Sure, it might not have the BEST graphics, or the most realistic physics or anything like that, but when it comes to versatility, no other engine can match it. UE3 was a massive success for Epic and they'll...
