The POTENTIAL of both "Arc"/"GEM" ; and Natal is quite substantial, but so was the POTENTIAL of the Wii and look at how that turned out - about 100 pathetic games for every 1 decent game and even then, most good Wii titles are nothing special, with just a few real excellent titles worth playing.
I'm sitting firmly on the fence when it comes to this motion controller stuff, but I'll say this much - I've yet to see one truly compelling omgmusthaveondayofrelease looking ...

Windows 7 is doing well because it's a damn fine OS, not because Vista was a bit rubbish in some people's view. If that was the case, then OSX/Linux/XP would be outselling Vista, but they weren't.

I have to admit, I laughed.

HOLY TITS!

Do we really need so many articles speculating about the same thing?

There's no ONE game, sure, but when a console has a few exclusives, it can be the decision maker. For me, though, it was more about what consoles my friends had, which is probably one of the reasons the 360 has managed to do so well against the PS3, it got there first so a few people had them already when others were thinking about which to get.

I'm a gamer, though, so I got both just to ensure I get all the best games.

To be honest, I like it when "exclusives" become multiplats, it means I can pick what console I want to play the game on based on my own personal preferences. That said, why would anyone want to play ME2 on the PS3 without the possibility of importing your save from the first game?
I don't know about anyone else, but I enjoyed ME2 much more due to all the little references to things I did in the first game. If you ask me, they should release Mass Effect 1 for the PS3 first and...

Only because they simply hadn't FOUND the internet. I still have arguments today about which was better - the PS2 or the Dreamcast. Sure, the PS2 sold (a lot) more, but the Dreamcast allegedly had better games.
Personally, I just stuck with PC gaming. You know, back when it actually had good exclusives.

I'd like to point out that "compressed" doesn't necessarily mean lower quality. A lot of the time, assets in a game are compressed to save on loading times, as it's faster to uncompress a 3Mb Texture into a 15Mb texture than it is to load a 15Mb texture from disk.
This isn't always the way of things, I mean there are some compression algorithms that will lose quality and some that wont.
Basically, what I'm saying is that just having an "uncompressed" version of...

Maybe I'm a little ignorant to the situation, but I find that accounts get "hacked" by people either following stupid phishing links in emails and on forums (And from in the game itself), get a virus on their computer that logs their info (and of course, they don't have/run up to date virus scans regularly), or get sucked in by their own greed when they see a "Enter your login details here for free Gold!" link.

Honestly, if you're a hacker with the expertise t...

You guys need to keep in mind, "Studio Liverpool" did a lot more than just make Wipeout. A lot of QA and testing were done in the very same building and this will continue.
There were actually TWO development areas of the building, one that did the Wipeout stuff and one that (formerly) did the F1 stuff. When I was there, I was asking what the F1 team were doing since the license had long since went to Codemasters and nobody seemed to really know. I don't know the full details...

What other, better, "Party games" exist on the PS3/360?

I'd like to point out that they currently OWN the Guitar Hero series, but Harmonix (The people behind Rock Band) are the ones that started it.

You do realise that this exact process would work on the PS3 if the PS3 allowed unsigned code to run as well? THe only reason this works is because the console was hacked, otherwise the console itself prevents it. The PS3 is no different in this case and some day, if it ever gets hacked properly, this kind of "modding" will work all the same.

I don't think you've understood the complexity of this "mod". It requires a JTAG-hacked (Read: Soldered and flashed from your PC) 360 before you even begin his instructions and due to the way content on the 360 works, you NEED to go through all that hassle to get this to work. It's not really a practical thing to do, but interesting and potentially useful none the less.

That's a bit like saying for the Price of a PS3, I can get a Wii and a good SD TV. The point of this "monitor" is that it goes way beyond 1080p, into "Ultra-high Definition". Sure, it costs an absolute bomb, but if you played a game at this setup's natural resolution, it'd blow the socks off of anything you've seen out there on consoles, in much the same way that anything on PS3/360 blows the socks (visually) off of anything you see on the Wii.

Natal uses an ACTIVE Infra-red camera. What does that mean? It means it produces its OWN light for the 3D camera, but as the light is infrarred, you'll never see it (You might if you view it through a phone or camera, similar to how you can see light from your average remote control).
Or to put it another way - it works in the dark. If you disagree with this, you obviously have a minute understanding of how light works, the electromagnetic spectrum, basic science or are quite simply an...

You don't need a Hard Drive for Natal and Naral will be aimed at boosting console sales more than anything else, probably by tapping into the casual market.
If Microsoft sells the device right, it should fly off shelves. However, it depends on the games.
Your argument is a bit like saying Wiimotionplus doesn't work because it cuts down the amount of people the developer can aim it at, but plenty of games are coming out for the Wii that make use of it because they wouldn't work wit...

And not enough 7!

Define "nothing new". There hasn't been a games console that has this kind of technology on it before, so its new to that field. In the same way that touch screens have been around for years, but the DS was the first to make it part of a games console. Even Wiimote like controls have been around for years and years, it just so happens that Nintendo were the first to do it on consoles.
Natal, or at least the concept behind it, is definitely nothing new and although the PSEye ha...

I keep saying that I don't think the RRP for live is worth it ($60/£45 a year), however I genuinely think that $30=35 for 12 months is quite reasonable for the service you get.
