It's an opinion piece from someone with no education and no credibility. Michael Pachter is an idiot who knows nothing about the entertainment/gaming industry and he's more credible.
Dumb article, doesn't know how to create a coherent thought or come to a point, and he even starts arguing with himself contradicting his original preface. I take it he failed every essay in school.
Just about every Microsoft insider outside of the executive pool in charge of their gaming division thinks the Xbox lost its way when it started trying to dilute its fanbase, catering to casuals and abandoning hardcore gamers, trying to be everything to everyone, while becoming nothing to no one. The next Xbox will only push new features, it won't spend a lot of time saying what the specs are. The plan is to never have to buy another game console, pushing streaming and cloud gaming instea...
I'd be mad too if I spent 3000 bucks on a PC that still can't run Crysis 3 on Ultra high settings at 1080P 60FPS without it dropping frames, only for PS3 owners to be happily playing fantastic looking games on a machine that now retails for less than 300 bucks. You can't get console power for the same price on a PC, that's why PC owners are bitter, elitist, revolting trolls. It's the same elitist 1% who think they are better than the 99%.
All those things were childish quite frankly. You can't expect everything to be finalized one year in advance, including the specifics on features, the final packaging of the system and how it will look, final specs and total cost. Development just doesn't work that way. With a year to go all you have is a vision, the nitty gritty details aren't finalized until much later, that's just how manufacturing something of this magnitude works.
Showing every single g...
"Cheaper" is the wrong word. "Better Value" is a better phrase. However, that's if developers actually make better games with more play time. A 5 hour game isn't worth $60. Sorry Crytek, but Crysis 3 should have been free to play online, and 20 bucks for that tiny campaign.
If it comes out for PS3 it had better come out this year, else it will be overshadowed by the PS4, as it will push graphics way better than anything GT6 will be capable on just the PS3.
Also, it doesn't mean it can't be moved to PS4 depending on how far GT6 has been in development. If the design of the game has been done moreso than the actual coding, then a PS4 release may not be so pie in the sky, as you just need to start coding on a new machine with whatever desi...
People just don't get it. The PS3 cost almost 900 damn dollars to manufacture. The graphics chip Nvidia just put out, the GeForce Titan, costs $1000 alone. It only has 6GB of GDDR5 RAM. The PS4 has 8GB of GDDR5 RAM. If anyone thinks this will be cheap to manufacture has their head up their a$$.
You can tell the idiots on N4G are overly defensive nerds with no sense of humour, who couldn't recognize satire if it bit them in the ass.
This is a satirical website with reasons that were so completely nonsense you should've gotten that they weren't serious. Like not getting PS4 because the inevitable PS5 will make it look ancient. I mean c'mon people, take off your fanboy hats for once in your life.
The "news" on N4g is 99% trol...
The final packaging hasn't been finalized, as even the proposed specs can still change, especially if Microsoft tries to outdo them substantially.
The fact that anti-Sony fanboys are already condemning a console when they know almost nothing about it should destroy any credence they had to their voices, and they should be shunned for their one-dimensional minds.
Why not celebrate progress, and buy whatever console comes out that has games on it that you like, and satisfies whatever your wants are? The fanboy mentality makes gamers look bad, and it's the antithesis to gamers trying to be taken seriously. If we want ...

People who complain about no console showing are the same people who don't have foreplay, and prematurely ejaculate every time they have sex. Everything all at once, save nothing for later. The market needs to be treated like a woman - you have to take it easy and be patient. Keep the hype up all the way to the finish line. That way you don't end the hype early and get overshadowed by your competitors.
Microsoft definitely isn't going to block used games if Sony isn't. You can put money on that one. They aren't stupid enough to let something like Used games be the deciding factor above all else. They need to compete and as such must give into demands of us, the consumers. They won't risk having their next gen system being obsolete as soon as it's released - with technology no one will ever buy into.
Wow we have some mentally challenged people commenting on this thread ^
Details are time sensitive. Sony hasn't finalized the packaging of the hardware which is why it wasn't unveiled. Plus timing is everything, and there is a long time between now and release, so more details must slowly be unveiled. Blowing your load all at once will kill the hype as it can easily be overshadowed by other big announcements from Microsoft later in the year.
Butthurt Sony haters hating on Killzone as per the usual, even though it looks better than anything Crytek has ever created, including that lousy sub 5 hour campaign on Crysis 3.
Using the past as the only means to predict the future is a fallacy of logic. Sorry.
The market has changed, the industry has changed, Sony has learned a lot of valuable lessons on how to not repeat past mistakes (hopefully) and with it the new console will change.
I don't get how he's going to lose money... did he invest his own money? Why would he do that? And if he invested his own money, as a developer, he's in the one place where he can actually ensure the game is A GOOD GAME! He wouldn't be in this financial mess if he didn't put up his own money for a game he didn't care was good or not.
I doubt he invested his own money. What he meant by "lose money" is likely the lack of a bonus he'll get ...
I don't doubt any of these claims from this tester, they all line up with the reality that the demo was indeed way better looking and playing than the final game, and the fact that the game was indeed sh*t, regardless of what Gearbox and Sega say about it. It doesn't surprise that the same people responsible for the trash can that was Duke Nukem Forever, claiming it really wasn't that bad a game, are also doing the same here. I mean come on people, you don't even need to read ...
Yeah, hype happens whenever a fanboy of the said subject matter is covering the game. Is it really so bad that you expect a game to not be completely sh*t when it comes out? Hype is a good thing as it boosts sales at least somewhat, so as a developer it can only be good. Having no hype or viral marketing behind your game to at least get people talking about your game will do one thing - ensure people don't even know your game is even out, and watch as sales slump.

I know right. What is it with people, Sony exec already said they will support used games if you were to buy a physical copy, end of discussion.
The left stick also includes better ergonomic abilities for racing games, I can't stand the 360 controller for racing games, the place that it's in now is perfect. For FPS games you just need the right stick for fine tune aiming, in which case it's already in the same place as the 360 controller anyway, so quit your whin...
