At worst, is off by 15% and at best, within 5% on average. Though they may not be as accurate as NPD, they are constantly revising their historical numbers with input from media create, famitsu, eurpean reports, NPD, etc. Look at the VGChartz numbers and give it a +-10% window and you will be really, really close to the actuals.
In looking at these numbers, even using some of VGC's less accurate reporting period difference percentages, this one shows the PS3 got it's ass hand...
worthless drivel. Maybe one day N4G will live up to its NAME -- i.e. NEWS for gamers...
If this rumor turns out to be true I will rent it. I'm tired of paying $60 for a game I can finish in one sitting. I'm not going to do it any more regardless of how great multiplayer is. I prefer single player campaigns... Note to developers/publishers. If you can't create a game that is at least 15-20 hours long because of the expense of production due to intense graphics and sound, back it down a bit. I'd take "good graphics" over "great graphics" any day if the ga...
game I go online for. It looks like great fun. I love the art style... How bad is the Lag on the 360 on Live?
When the actual demo arrives and is playable, I'll judge the game. Forza2 and PRG4 both put out some amazing stills using "replay" and "photo" mode but then reality set in when the real game hit the streets... We'll know soon enough how good it is when actually playing the game...
stays on the absolute bleeding edge when it comes to semiconductor fabs and research. Intel is probably the only other company that stays with them. By aligning with IBM, Sony will get cheaper cell CPUs in fairly short order... The 45nm will result in higher yields on the same sized wafer and will reduce the cost of the Cell over time.
If Capcom doesn't sell somewhat close to the same attach rate on the PS3 that it did on the 360, that is going to be a serious wake up call to the industry. Capcom (and other third parties) may look at that as a reason to go multi on every PS3 title they have and skip porting 360 exlusives to the PS3. It's in every Sony Fanboys interest to hope it does fairly well on the PS3... Go ahead and disagree, de-bubble me, or whatever, but you know the negative spin that Sony will get hammered with...
Visually they both look pretty good. Neither represents the best the console can do and frankly, it doesn't matter. The graphics are "good enough" to allow for an enjoyable experience overall. Enough said. Move on... There are pluses and minuses in both -- leave it at that.
This format war is far from over. They'll beat on each other until another format comes along and clean both their clocks... BTW, welcome to ignore.
Nintendo and Microsoft go on cutting sprees. If the Wii were to cut to $199 and the 360 Elite cut to $299, Sony would be in trouble again... That isn't going to happen soon so I think Sony is at the right price -- for now -- given how expensive the technology is and how much they are losing on each console sold.
Semi Fab facilities are horrendously expensive to build and maintain. Sony pulled it's cash out of the fab by selling the facilities but will continue to benefit from the Intellectual property they own part of in the Cell processor.
are you serious? On a global basis, the PS3 is behind about a little over 7 million consoles -- more than their current sold to customers... That doesn't sound like ownage to me... With the price cuts announced today, however, Sony is making the right moves...
They also exhibit quite similar behaviors in buying video games. Look at candian numbers and multiply by 10 as said above and you should have a fairly close estimate of U.S. numbers for september. That would mean the following:
360 512000
DS 450000
Wii 429000
PS2 220000
PS2 165000
PS3 156000
GBA 86000
It's just a guess, of course, but that's what it would look like if 10X were true...
Pac Man CE and Boom Boom are really fun games... Luxor 2 isn't bad and Uno is great fun if you have the people to play online. I don't think it's bad at all given the fact that they console now has a wireless controller, included memory card, and some games thrown in for a price that competes with the Wii...
I see Leon came back and disagreed with us. How mature.
I can't possibly disagree more. The weight of the cars is clearly noticeable. RWD vs. Front wheel drive cars accelerate, corner, and brake differently. High horsepower vs. lower horsepower cars handle completely different. The lower horsepower cars are a lot easier to control and don't spin out as easy, for instance. Also, the AWD cars really behave differently than either the FWD or RWD cars. I can ALWAYS turn out better times with AWD as I like the way they handle better than the othe...
Hey, I posted ACCORDING TO VGCHARTZ in the very first part. I'll certainly refrain from posting VG Chartz news if N4G doesn't want it. It seems that people approve it when it works for them and don't when it doesn't. Historically, vgchartz numbers have proven fairly accurate in terms of console sales and they do go back and adjust the numbers when official sources are released. Take it for what it is and don't shoot the messenger.
Ratchet and Clank "Up Your Arsenal" for the PS2. It is arguably the best in the series if you like the shooter part more than the platform part. I enjoyed the hell out of that game...
How can it be good news that there are 8 PS3s that have been bought and there will be zero attach rate of games or blu-ray movies for it? Powerful or not, the PS3 needs to have stellar software sales to attract third parties and this kind of stuff doesn't help.
it seems to me that the "platformer" part of the game has been increased rather significantly. Up your Arsenal (2004, PS2) pushed the series into a frenzied shooter with some serious ass whooping fun that had a lot of FPS/TPS elements to it. Yeah, there was still a bit of a platform element to the game, but I highly enjoyed the barrage of enemies. I also enjoyed the co-op mode greatly...
The PS3 iteration, based on the demo, seems to have return to more of a platfo...
It was an EA title and was a first person shooter if you wanted it to be OR you could choose to order your troops around and to defend/attack certain areas to meet your objectives. I absolutely loved the game as it was a groundbreaking title. I'm hoping this does the same as I enjoy going back and forth from guns a'blazin' to directing the combat and letting the troops get it done.
