Up until this point there was a sliver of hope Nintendo could pull a profit, that the WiiU could burst onto the scene and maybe the 3DS hits a crazy streak, but now they've finally gotten a kick in the rear, something we call reality.
While they were vague on some details, there are several key take-aways. They want to boost IP acquisitions or even taking companies in (mergers). Have a consistent ID system where you can access Miiverse, downloads, and even full games be...
Sony fans make up the majority of N4G's user base. Not to take away from Tearaway, but the voting was biased.
Golden Sun, two games on GBA, one game on DS
They can call it the Xbox One Go
On second thought, no.
RE4 is as far as they should have gone in terms of horror to action ratio. While it is much more action oriented than the one's before, it still had plenty of scary moments (try doing the dog maze, insect sewers, or Regenerators at night for the first time without wanting to turn the game off after the first minute of said event)
RE5 was really fun but didn't have any scary moments, the pacing was tuned to incorporate as much action as possible at the expense of ten...
Usually bundled games are included in software sales(It's why Wii Sports is the best selling game at over 82 million)
I'm glad I got out of Gold months ago. It took several years to accept I was buying into a system which didn't cater to my gamer needs. It was alright when I was playing CoD with friends on a daily basis, but when that wore out I begun to realize Gold wasn't for me (I even went to a third party to get Gold on the cheap for my last year).
I understand there are people who use 80% of the services and are fine with $60, but for someone who used Gold just for online...
At $15 a month (after the what, $60 entry fee) you better get new content every month (and not just a weapon or piece of armor). People will only continue to buy-in month after month if it gets constantly updated with more content (that doesn't power creep).
When you charge more than other MMO's you have to offset it with more incentives, or else it won't last long
They're too busy making another HD version of Resident Evil 4
"Nintendo Fusion sounds more like a 3DS game player accessory for the Wii U"
Nintendo did consolidate their handheld and console divisions several months back. While I'm sure it was more to facilitae better game development, it could very well have lead to functionality between 3DS and WiiU.
You see what Sony is doing with Remote Play, then you look at the use of a touchscreen with the WiiU and the idea of interaction between the two system...
I hope they make a sequel (true or spiritual). It really showcased how to use the gamepad to the fullest and was true zombie survival horror. I know the sales weren't there and many reviewers couldn't get past the fact it was trying to be realistic (you couldn't run and gun or two-hit ppl) or the melee combat was too limited, but it really tried to set the bar in various ways.
When WiiU sales pick up it would be nice to see Ubisoft learn from their past mistake...
When their titles fail to sell on WiiU I actually feel sorry for them. The fact they were I believe the only one bold enough to create a new IP in ZombiU (which used the gamepad fantastically and was true survival horror) gives me respect of them. The Rayman fiasco was disappointing, but it was still conceived as a WiiU title in the first place (and sold the most on WiiU interestingly enough)
If they leverage Watch Dogs on the WiiU well (graphically and with the gamepad) I ...
Capcom wants to hire 100 Devs a year to not make Megaman
It's a sick joke, I'm sorry
But in case you wanted another one..
The mock application sheet:"Do you have relevant game design experience for platformers and have serious interest in the Megaman series? Just kidding, we're never doing Megaman"
I'm done
As long as EA and the like have stable and profitable markets in PlayStation and Xbox, Nintendo consoles will be viewed as second class citizens. Look at the Wii for a moment. EA and so many other Publishers rode the casual train, they saw the record breaking console numbers and tried to cash in with poor and mediocore games to make an easy profit, to the point only Nintendo was making high quality "core" games for their system.
While one could say the environment...
Few if any companies can survive with an angry fanbase. The only reason BF4 got any form of pass was because it was a stellar game when it worked. Imagine a sequence of games that unplayable with worse design. You won't thrive much longer.
You watch something like league of Legends, DotA, or AGDQ (Awesome Games Done Quick) and it's exciting to see so many people getting together to watch gaming, even donating 1 million dollars to Cancer research through the AGDQ event. First we had Dreamcast and Xbox Live to bring gamers together across hundreds of miles, now we have Twitch and the like. I hope one day to have a TV channel dedicated to games. Imagine switching to a channel see a featured League or DotA match, or to see 30 m...
Iwata isn't a business man, he's a game designer who became President. In his eyes the WiiU brought something new and could satisfy what most Devs could want creatively. But the industry doesn't want to adapt to strange ideas that isn't easy to grasp. And Nintendo didn't do a good job of relaying what the WiiU is about through special software and advertisment.
Parallels can be made between the WiiU and 3DS, in the WiiU is what the 3DS could've becam...
Nintendo keeps relying on the dirty tactic of releasing high quality games again and again, some from franchises decades old. They're exploiting consumers who look for fun games with above average review scores.
Makes me sick just thinking about it
Seeing how the install base for PS3 and 360 exceed the PS4 and X1 by a factor larger than 20 it's no wonder they are still making games for last gen. Also the author assumes Devs will just instantly transistion from one gen to the next, as if they've been working with the PS4 and X1 tech since their conception. Unless you're a 1st party Dev you've most likely had Dev kits for about a year at most, many third parties are porting last gen into current gen titles since all they n...
My 5 favorites are Final Fantasy 6, Golden Sun:Lost Age, Super Mario RPG, Xenoblade, and Pokemon Silver. I haven't played a lot of RPG's in recent years, but these stick out to me the most (in memorability and design)
