Who would choose Smash on a several inch screen over Smash on a 30+ inch screen with 1080p and 4 friends on one screen? To think one person would buy just the 3DS version and be content is mind-boggling. I'm sure someone who wants the WiiU version will be tempted by being able to play it months earlier on 3DS before they transition
Also it doesn't sound like the WiiU version is sitting around waiting to be shipped. I really do think Nintendo wants to make the games as...
In a positive note, Atlus survived :)
Other than the fact Star Fox didn't really fit I thought it was a fun, well made game. Diverse environments, great water effects, some good puzzles, good music. It certainly faltered, but it had decent reviews and would look amazing in current day graphics.
It could also use the gamepad well. Other than inventory and map, you could use the gamepad for the on-rails shooting segments and for some of the puzzles, maybe even in added features.
720p confirmed, at least from a month ago. Nintendo has stated they were going for 1080p/60fps for 1-2 split, 720/60fps for 4 split. It's only recently people outside of Nintendo have confirmed
Nintendo has spent a lot of resources promoting their Nintendo Direct's over the last year+, my guess is they want to increase their online presence by doing a full digital conference. Yeah we miss the unexpected memes and gaffs of a live conference and watching other people go crazy over game announcements, but it also allows Nintendo to control their message better, and hopefully have less fluff. You can read it as Nintendo giving up or as Nintendo creating an online brand. Sony and MS ...
While Sony and MS are sticking with the old (yet tbh tried and true) method Nintendo is doing their own unique, innovative method. Forgo bright lights, huge room and celebrities, Nintendo is using the internet to get their message across. They have streams throughout the day, letting people try Smash early, hosting a massive Smash Tourney for more recognition and hype. And of course a Direct to pack every upcoming major content release minus pointless filler.
Nintendo should...
I could see a new console and gamepad design. A new console design that stands out (isn't a white blob) and a new gamepad with less plastic along with a stronger battery and better shoulder buttons, maybe higher range
The game's too beautiful, it hurts my eyes.
They did a bundle with Mario Kart Wii, which helped it sell 35 million. Nintendo knows Mario Kart 8 is their big WiiU game for the first half, i would be surprised if they didn't
The Bundle will cost $300 for sure, what I wonder about is if the game will be physical or digital. Personally I hope it's physical. Also I hope the special bonus isn't a demo for a random game and a steering wheel. Something like the WWHD bundle, since a steering wheel is lame
I remember playing Halo 4 and telling myself if a Metroid game looked that good it would be amazing. To think a Metroid will look even better is pure bliss. I can't wait for Prime 4, or whatever they call the sequel
One of my best video games purchases
I remember looking for a game the Christmas I got a Wii (the year it came out), didn't even know the Anthology existed. But there it was, Metal Slug 1-7+x for $40. Not only did it have every main MS released at that point (exluding Advanced but with the new 7) but it had a ton of concept art and music as well.
I laugh when I see single versions for $15, ended up paying for $5 each with extra content
The combat isn't very innovative, but the music, characters, and story are all top notch. The Lost Age is one of my favorite games of all time
I could only watch 4 minutes of Red at a time before I got bored and left. It's fun for awhile but then you realize it takes more than 10 minutes to move a single screen (at best). It was a novelty at first but now it's old news. I don't think they should stop but it's hitting its Guitar Hero saturation point, there's very little left to be squeezed out.
They announced Mario 3D World and DK Tropical Freeze at E3 and they came out within 6-8 months (World in November and Freeze in Feb, which was supposed to be released in Dec).
Also I doubt the WiiU is going to get proper 3rd Party support within the next 12 months, expect more delayed ports and the occasional DLC
Either they disliked my candidates for "worthy remasters" or disliked how I thought Tomb Raider and TLoU weren't the best choices, which is fine. I'd rather see games that take major leaps, not "what would this game from a year ago look if it was made for high end PC's".
Not only do I think WWHD was well done (it got a full visual rework and had a more steamlined experience) but the time difference meant it was being shown to a new generation o...
Nintendo did a good job with the Wind Waker HD remaster, and there's indication Nintendo will try to do more of these (I hope they do a Mario Sunshine HD).
As great as The Last of Us, or Tomb Raider is, I hope we don't see anymore games from last gen remastered. Doing Resolution and Texture updates is fine and dandy, but I want to see games that never had the current-gen touch get remade, to introduce them to people who may not have played them or want to see how they...
It will have games as a source of revenue, but not as the focus. They won't be going in as a member for the "Current Game Generation", rather one of the hundreds of smart/multi-media devices that attempts to hold all your entertainment. Gaming is very popular, whether you're a core, casual, or mobile gamer. To not tap into everything is short-sighted
There are 3 main one's I know of you can download onto an emulator. SMW2+2, Kamek's Revenge, and Golden Yoshi. There's even a website dedicated to them (and other mods/recreations).
For sure. I was disappointed in Dark Dawn, hopefully they can bring a game that echos the originals
I will miss the unplanned gaffs and memes that come from live performances, and if we ever would get a Twilight Princess moment, seeing a crowd go crazy is something special. But I will not miss the awkward moments and potential for filler content that usually happens. Also if a new Metroid for WiiU is revealed, say Prime 4, I won't need a large crowd to get me hyped, I will run down the halls of my house, yelling, of my own accord.
It all comes down to how Nintendo plans...
