Uh, they already showed their next-gen, uh I mean current gen system, that is in the same generation as Xbox One and PS4 - the current generation of systems.
Btw, has anyone noticed that since the release of Wii U in 2012 to end of that year Wii U sold over 3 million units. Since the Xbox One's release in November of this year to end of 2013 it has sold only around 2.5 million units. How quickly everyone forgets that PSN was down for quite awhile in 2013 with a breach. I guess that's okay and smart planning for Sony but when Nintendo is down a few days it's poor planning on their part. It's not the end of the world and it'll be back up as soon as they can make it stable. I got on last night after being unable to for a few hours.
The January 10th date has been known for a while now. Confused as to why anyone is shocked by this or why this is a rumor. It's a fact.
Part of the hype around this coming to Wii U is that Nintendo is moving in a different direction by releasing it. That's what gamers want from them and it's a departure from the usual Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda etc. We'll see how it sells but it's in a category pretty much without competition on the Wii U - at least from a 1st party perspective.
Why aree you talking about the Wii? I'm talking about New Super Mario Bros U and New Super Luigi U on Wii U that are consistent sellers since they came out- and that's a year ago for New Super Mario Bros U. Super Mario 3D World has already sold over 700K copies worldwide in only a few weeks. It will continue to sell well on Wii U just as the other games I've mentioned. Mario Kart 8 will sell the same way in 2014 once it's released.

Super Mario 3D World is selling just fine and it - like New Super Mario Bros U - is a game that will continue to sell for years to come. NSMBU & New Super Luigi U are constantly in top selling lists a year after release.
Be grateful you have the chance to play a sequel. However it's your choice to ignore the opportunity by not buying a Wii U. Nobody is forcing you not to have a second console. But those who don't go for it could miss out on a fantastic game. Meanwhile Wii U owners will enjoy a game that could sell well on a system that won't have tons of similar games to compete against it!

Hopefully Nintendo keeps up the advertising going forward. All these help whether people want to accept it or not. I'm glad I'm now actually seeing commercials on TV for Wii U. Reviews certainly don't hurt either when they're as positive as the ones for SM3DW!!
While these are certainly wicked first day numbers it doesn't necessarily prove that it's going to sell huge numbers like this through its entire life of the console. We knew pre-sale numbers were huge and fans would buy it right away. However the issue will come soon trying to convince current owners of the still selling PS3 to upgrade. Fantastic and a great idea from Nintendo! This parade is huge here!!! More than 750K people & mostly kids in attendance. The weather might help too if it rains the tent will be even more popular to try out Wii U games!
Retail reorganize things all the time especially coming up to Christmas as well as new launches.
They've already put out Black Friday flyers for the USA advertising Wii U consoles and games. I'm sure they're just reorganizing the department with PS4 and Xbone launches. Big games are coming for Wii U now and into 2014 whether people want to accept that or not.

Exactly! It just shows that they realize they are not in the same endless battle as Sony & MS. There are lots of games coming to Wii U now and the exclusives are going to be loads of fun like Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Brothers to go along with other exclusives like WW HD, Lego City (only on Wii U NOT PC), Pikmin 3 etc.

This could be great for Nintendo as the DSi (and maybe now the 3DS) is already sold in China so Nintendo IPs are already familiar to gamers there. It was the only legal game console sold in China. Time will tell what happens and which system does come out on top. In any case it's good news for all 3 as the market potential is huge!
