I hear what you're saying but to have it a mode that is unlocked after you beat the game would, imo, defeat the purpose. If you can beat the game why would you need an easier mode?

I keep reading 'oh, obviously Nintendo did this for kids' but kids are often the ones who just sit down, play and figure it out! I am often getting kids I know to get me past certain things in games.
I don't have the patience to keep trying the same section over and over again. Having this as an option is good so more people can get further in the game to experience more of it.

When the PS4& Xbox One were announced it was early in 2013, then more at E3 and they launched the same year. We have no idea if Nintendo is planning the same thing.

WiFi would be much better as I would love to be able to move around and still play. Since Nintendo does BC on each new system since the Wii they need to have some sort of controller with a screen or many Wii U games will not be playable anymore.

If they're such fanboys they should release Nintendo starter packs with Bowser and Donkey Kong so you can get both. Skylanders can then be purchased separately. As it stands now you can only get both if you buy two starter packs for Wii U and either 3DS and Wii. Why would you want the Wii & Wii U packs and what about those of us who don't own a 3DS and don't want to own one? As fanboys you'd think they'd know how frustrating buying amiibos has been.

The least they could have done is had release dates other than 'Fall 2015' or 'Holiday 2015' and trailers for Fatal Frame, Devil's Third and maybe, just maybe, a surprise game that's either in development or coming soon other than Mario.

Complete and utter disaster. I guess the 3DS is struggling though I missed that. It's a good thing the Wii U is outselling everything else so they don't need to worry about it. Otherwise they'd be in big trouble. E3 is NOT the place for some cutesy (???) show that somebody thought was funny! What the hell was that?? The other companies show off games not puppets! Big games would have been enough to offset the cutesy presentation.

I can't understand why people would think he said it was exclusive to Japan. What was said online after the video was that IN Japan the retail release is exclusive to Amazon Japan. I figured other regions were announcing dates because they are not at E3 and the North American release dates will be coming at E3 next week most likely around August 28th to have the most impact on sales at the beginning. Hopefully it sells well considering there is no other game like it on Wii U and no CoD...
It's going to make Black Friday shopping in the US worthwhile for electronics again for big fall release games.
Last year I got a ton at 30% off with 4 still to come whenever they release them and the prices of those went up when the dollar went down so I actually am saving even more! Whatever the deal is the lesson I learned is to pre-order as you can always cancel later on if you change your mind. 20% is better than nothing.

Nintendo is the ONE that won't be quaking! Wii U is the only place for their exclusives. I see a lot of Nintendo fans jumping on this (like I did) who have good computers but want a cheap alternative for playing on a TV. Lots of the games on Steam also release on PS4/Xbox One which might keep some gamers from buying a console if they have this option.
When I started gaming in the early 80s games went on and on and on. There was no finishing them. Because of that I play games to enjoy them and if I get far in them that's great but if I don't I'm not stressed about it.
