I was irritated this got delayed but then I played the challenge mode more and love it! Can't wait for next week and it's great news to hear that the Wii U version is the best one. After all this is a game originally started on Nintendo's system and ported to all the others! That's a change and I'll love playing this on my Wii U.
It actually came out first in Europe and the sales on this chart are for two days in Japan as it came out Saturday, August 24th. I'm looking forward to it coming out in North America soon.
People who only buy one nextgen system - Wii U - are gonna buy multiplatform games on it. Hopefully they do get the dlc figured out on all systems including Wii U from now on.
That's very true that it could do very well. You have to consider that on PS360 it was just another game in a jumble of similar games. On Wii U it will be a unique game with not a lot of similar games to compete with. Wii U owners want something new and different and to those who don't own PS360 (or the new ones) it will be. Somebody's confused. Gamecube was same generation as PS2; Wii was same generation as PS3/360 and Wii U is same generation as Xbone/PS4. For most of the last generation sales Nintendo won against Sony/MS. Furthermore, Wii U competes with PS3/360 simply because they're all out now. The others aren't so obviously it can't compete at the moment with unreleased systems.
Another reason why this could sell well on Wii U is that there are a lot of Nintendo gamers just waiting for something more 'mature' and this will be one PLUS there are not a lot of other games like this on Wii U yet. On PS3/360/PC the original Bayonetta might have gotten lost in the shuffle with similar games when it came out. Hopefully it does sell well and they make Bayonetta 3 exclusive to Nintendo as well! I never played the first one but I cannot wait to get my hands on this...
Keep in mind that Pikmin 3 was only out for 2 days July 13&14 and sales went up by almost 13k units. From now on there are exclusive games for Wii U each month into 2014 - Wonderful 101, Sonic Lost World, Legend of Zelda WW HD, Wii U Party, Donkey Kong Country, Mario World 3D, Pokemon Rumble U, Mario Kart 8, Wii Fit U and Bayonetta 2 among others. I think we'll see sales going up as the year goes on!
What's going to be interesting is later on when PS4 and Xbox One are released if they don't sell like everyone thinks. At first they will sell like crazy as the biggest fans get them but lots of people may wait to see how it goes, what games come out, what kinks need to be worked out etc. 360 and PS3 did not have great launches when they came out. At that time Wii U is going to have big releases!
i agree with you plus if it wasn't for Atari/Mattel/Coleco and Nintendo there might not be Sony/MS systems. Nintendo was publishing on those systems in the early 80s until the NES was released. Since then their games have only been on their own systems.
To keep it simple Sony/MS can make their exclusives multi-platform so everyone's happy. That scenario is as likely as Nintendo games going multi-platform.
What's pathetic about articles like this is that Nintendo will never publish on other systems. Fans of Sony/MS constantly put Nintendo and Nintendo fans down for liking games like Mario and Zelda YET they constantly dream on that one day they'll play the games on PS4/Xbone! Just accept the fact that you need Wii U to play them and enjoy the best of both worlds.
Yeah, it's funny that everyone forgets the launch of PS3/360. No big games as you've mentioned. Xbox had issues and systems froze and no longer worked - the red ring of death or whatever it was. The games coming out in 2014 look fantastic! There are lots of games coming starting monthly with Wario on June 23rd in NA. Also, Sonic games usually sell pretty well and Sonic Lost World looks very interesting. As an exclusive hopefully it helps with sales along with Wii U Party and LoZ: WW HD all in October. Same goes for the dreaming that this, Lego City, Wonderful 101, Sonic Lost World, Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong etc etc etc will ever be on anything - legally - other than a Nintendo system. It's NEVER going to happen. Nintendo is not that desperate.
With Nintendo paying for and publishing this game I don't see them letting it be put on Sony/MS. Platinum Games already confirmed months ago that Nintendo would be the ones to allow this and The Wonderful 101 on other systems. In other words exclusive to Wii U they'll remain. Hope it happens! I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time a developer becomes 2nd party. In this case though it sounds like it's Platinum who wants it not Nintendo searching it out!
