The PS4 is small, but not nearly that small.
...No thanks. It looks way too small for a console. That kind of design would probably have some major cooling issues.
PC fanboys, actually. Originally, they claimed their 'reason' for the attack was 'PC MASTER RACE'.
This writer is silly. When the story first broke, their stated 'reason' for doing this was 'PC MASTER RACE'. It was only after they had gained some publicity that they tried to act like this was about fighting against 'corporate greed'.
And their stated reason for wanting to destroy Sony? 'PC MASTER RACE'
Oh wow. Some PC gamers must really feel threatened by consoles.
It depends. For a lot of people, decent internet is expensive and there are almost always data limits. Video game streaming would require a fairly fast connection and would eat up a lot of data, which would be beyond the reach of most people. It's why there was so much backlash against the 'Always Online' aspect of the X1.
Yeah, no. It won't happen. Fact is, most of the planet doesn't have the sort of internet infrastructure needed to support a 'video game streaming' market to any significant degree. Internet companies in the US are already having problems supporting TV streaming services like Hulu or Netflix, and are imposing draconian data limits to keep things under control. So unless something dramatically changes in the next 10 to 20 years, I doubt the Cloud gaming model will ever actually ...
You lost me at this point.
'Imagine if Sony and Microsoft instead had to carry their own systems on their own backs, with the majority of their libraries consisting of first-party exclusives. Trust me — they wouldn't be able to do it.'
I call bullshit.
Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii sold roughly 13 million units. Super Smash Bros for the Wii sold around the same. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword sold 3.4 million units.
And? They learned the tactic from Nintendo. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If someone only takes a dump once a day, it doesn't make shit smell any nicer than if someone took a dump three times a day. Frequency has nothing to do with quality, and Nintendo is the master of rehashing games.
Sony doesn't pump out a lot of First Part Exclusives? What world have you been living in for the last 15 years or so?
I honestly don't think they care very much about pissing of the small number of Nintendo fans who might actually buy their games.
It's not just Ubisoft. EA has made comments about Nintendo too. Major Third Party devs simply don't like Nintendo, and for good reason.
They 'lost the magic' a long time ago. Frankly, the only people who still buy their consoles are casuals and the hardcore Nintendo fans who don't mind playing Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong again and again because of some need to relive their childhood through nostalgia.
Lawson, it's a fact. Why do you think games like Skyrim didn't come to the Wii? Because the hardware couldn't handle it. And the gulf between the Wii U and the PS4/X1 is just as big.
This guy is an embarrassment to all gamers, Jeez.
They haven't really had any 'heavy hitters' since launch, and it's still been selling phenomenally.
I play games to have fun, but I also play them to enjoy great stories, interesting characters, and deep, detailed worlds. First party Nintendo titles, more often than not, don't offer that. They are simply about 'fun', and that's it. Aside from titles like Zelda and Metroid, most Nintendo games don't offer any attempt at world-building or delivering deep stories or amazing characters.
And most Wii U versions aren't of the same quality because the console itself isn't of the same quality of it's competitors.
Honestly, I found the entire article somewhat insulting. He seems to be insinuating that all the gamers who bought the PS4 dislike or are afraid of change, all the while praising the X1 and the Wii U for their 'innovation'. (Of course, he ignores that the X1 didn't 'innovate' anything. A Camera for motion and voice controls have been around since the EyeToy for the PS2.)
...What are you smoking?
