Thing is, a lot of the people who are bashing the game haven't even played it and it's easy to tell. I played Destiny from 11 AM EST to 5:30 PM EST, and I'm still Rank 7 and I just got to the moon, which is the second of five areas. Most of the 'complaints' I've been seeing are about how the game is 'too short' and such.
So either they haven't played it at all, or they rushed through just the story missions on the lowest difficulty, and ar...
Exactly. This dude did a speed run. It's like rushing through the main quest of Skyrim, barely skimming the side quests, and then complaining about how short the game is. It's absurd.
How so? They said it would be an open world, and it is. You can freely explore the 5 areas they've created which are actually fairly large. The game is plenty expansive. If people are disappointed, it's not because Bungie misrepresented Destiny, it's because they made incorrect assumptions.
...No, they didn't. Bungie has said that the game was inspired by multiple genres, including MMO's, but they never said it -was- an MMO. That was an assumption made by the community and not a description Bungie itself ever pushed.
I don't see why everyone is taking this so seriously. If you read the story, the dude just completed the story missions and a handful of side quests. That's a speed run. I can beat Skyrim if I just do the main quest in as little as 7 hours, but half the fun of the game is exploring and doing the different quest lines. The fact that he managed -just- 10 hours actually says a lot about Destiny's content, and not in a bad way.
There are only 3 planets. Earth, Mars, and Venus. However, there are two other areas we know of as well. We'll be able to play on the Moon, and a location known as the Reef, which is set in the asteroid belt.
3 more days. Just...three more days. Ugh, this is torture.
This crap is getting old, and I really don't care anymore. These SJWs are trying to stir this up again to keep their 'cause' alive. When people stop paying attention and giving them clicks for their crappy, flame-baiting articles this will die.
Honestly, even though I switched to Sony this gen, Bungie's behavior toward MS kind of annoys me. Like it or not, the Xbox fanbase more or less made Bungie. Destiny likely would have never existed without them. So the fact that they are giving Xbox fans the finger is...irritating from a consumer perspective.
...No, they didn't. It's been known for months that the game was online.
...Dude, it was on the official Sony support site.
The dynamic has went both ways. Sony copied features from MS, and MS copied features from Sony. And PSN is not the 'better of the two networks'. I can't even remember the last time Xbox Live went down because of a technical issue or overload.
When I still had Xbox Live, I hadn't had an issue like this in years. Even when a major game like Black Ops II released, it stood up under the strain. If PSN can't even handle Minecraft, there is a problem. But I guess some people don't want to hear that.

The fact that the only major incident that you can remember on Xbox Live happened in 2007 proves my point. I never said XBL never had issues. I said it's been -years- since I...
Flawless? While Xbox Live had some hiccups, I never ran into problems like this nearly as often on my 360. When I pay $50 for a service, I expect that service to keep up to it's competition.
Something is clearly fucked up. If it crashes during Destiny, I'll be selling my PS4. I didn't pay $400 for a console with a $50 online service only to not be able to play it.
No one is re-writing history. Indie games aren't judged by the same standards as AAA titles. It was a crappy game, regardless of how much 'praise' it received.
...Who cares? It's not like he's relevant. He's only ever made crappy Indie games, so it's not like the industry is losing anything if he leaves gaming.
I think the only people 'obsessing' over Destiny's reviews are people looking for clicks. I played the beta and loved it. Most of the people who hate on it are the sort who despise shooters in general.
Oh Jeez. Actors and actresses have been dealing with far, far worse for years, but I've never once seen an actor calling on all people who watch movies to 'take responsibility' and 'do better'.
The reviews seem mixed. A lot of people love it, and a lot of people are disappointed. Ultimately, those who are disappointed seem to have had a picture in their mind of what Destiny should have been, and judged the final game in light of that instead of letting it stand on it's own.
