A history? The original Xbox had games throughout it's entire life span. While exclusives became rarer in the second half of the 360's life cycle, they didn't 'drop support'.
People like you seem to forget the PS3 and how Sony used gamers as a Trojan Horse for the format wars, and then told everyone to 'get a second job' if they couldn't afford it.
Frankly, I don't pay attention to game reviews. I've seen amazing games get low scores, and an absolute PoS get 'critical acclaim'. Instead, I base my decision to buy a game on demos if they are avaliable and gameplay videos. If I see something that could be interesting, but I'm unsure about it, I'll either rent it or wait till the price drops.
Just another click-bait article. The X1 is selling better than the Wii U did in the same time frame. The only 'competing console' that's doing better is the PS4. By that logic, the PS3 and the 360 were both failures because the original Wii outsold them both by a large margin.
Let's be blunt. The only people who think Sony 'cares' or is more 'consumer friendly' than Microsoft are Sony fanboys. The rest of us know that both of them are willing to screw over consumers if we let them get away with it.
Or just use a Plasma Grenade. Helluva lot quicker.
Killzone needs to be retired. The original on the PS2 was bland as hell, and it hasn't gotten much better ever since. It'd be better to scrap it, and try for a new FPS franchise.
In other words, much like last generation multi-plat games will continue to look better on Playstation, followed by the Xbox, with the Wii lagging behind both. And guess what? Just like last gen, it won't matter that much in the grand scheme of things. The power difference between the PS4 and the X1 is about the same as it was between the PS3 and the 360.
Frankly, the only reason Sony and MS fanboys are bitching over FPS and resolution is because neither console has any m...
I hated the Souls games, but this supposedly has some significant differences. If I pick up a PS4, I might give this one a shot.
Okay, what? The Xbox One isn't failing, at all. It's selling 60% more units than the 360 did in the same time frame, and the 360 had a much lower price point and didn't even have any competition.
Simply because the PS4 is outselling the X1 doesn't mean it's a failure. People seem to forget that the Wii massively outsold the 360 and the PS3, yet I don't know of a single person who would claim that either console 'failed'.
The Kinectless X1 only became available in June, and the month isn't even over yet. We don't have the sales numbers for this month to even start talking about how the change might effect things.
Except they aren't losing their market share. The X1 is selling better than the 360 did, and the 360 didn't even have any competition. Simply because the PS4 is outselling the X1 doesn't mean Microsoft is losing the ground they gained with the 360.
It doesn't even need a comeback. The X1 is selling 60% better than the 360 did in the same time frame. Simply because the PS4 is selling better doesn't mean the X1 is 'failing'. If we followed that logic, then the 360 and the PS3 were both flops because the Wii outsold them both by a huge margin.
1. The actual statistic is that 30% of PS4 owners had a 360 OR a Wii last gen. Also keep in mind that the 'study' in question was done by Sony itself.
2. Far behind? The X1 had sold around 5 million units as of April, while the PS4 was at 7 million in the same time frame. While the gap is significant, I wouldn't call it 'far behind', especially when you consider the fact that the X1 was $100 more expensive.
3. If you call altering your ma...
Agreed. Honestly, people seem to forget that last gen, the Wii massively outsold both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Yet no one considers either of them to be failures. When you compare the sales of the 360 to the X1, the X1 is actually doing better than the 360 despite MS's early screw ups.
This. The PS3's release was one of the biggest blunders ever. Sony went from selling 146 million units with the PS2, to 82.5 million units with the PS3. For all the people who rag on the X1, it will probably maintain Microsoft's share of the market at the very least.
Not really. There is a big difference between this gen and the last. Sony went big on hardware, and sold each PS3 at a loss of around $300. As a result, the PS3 was around 30 times more powerful than the PS2. Microsoft did the same if to a smaller degree, and sold each console at a loss of around $100.
This gen, the PS4 and the X1 are both being sold at a profit right out of the gate, but they are only about 8 to 10 times more powerful than their predecessors. Essentially, w...
Honestly, people need to realize that both the PS4 and the X1 are substandard. From the PS1 to the PS2, and from the PS2 to the PS3 there was a massive difference in graphics that was obvious even from the earliest games. Yet the PS4 and X1 don't have that. Their games look last gen, only more polished. I personally don't want to spend $400 for a new console that only offers a slight improvement from it's predecessor. Sure, on paper the PS4/X1 are 8 to 10 times more powerful than ...
And Sony isn't? Amazing how they refused to say a word one way or another about DRM and Always Online until after Microsoft came out publicly with those policies and faced the backlash. If you think Sony is for 'consumers', your deluded and you've obviously forgotten what they did with the PS3.
What a pathetic article. So, they spent 500 Million dollars on Destiny? Instead of talking about how that's bad for the industry (Which it isn't.), let's wait and see if the game lives up to it's price tag. If it actually turns out to be great, that 500 million will be well worth it. Honestly, the writer sounds like one of those 'Indies are the heart of gaming, and big, expensive titles are evil' types.
Why does n4g keep approving these click bait articles that have no basis in fact? The X1 is not a 'sinking ship'. It's selling better than the 360 did in the same time frame. Were the PS3 and 360 failures because the Wii outsold them both by a wide margin? No? Then why is the X1 a failure when the PS4 is outselling it?
