Fanboys on both sides are so damn silly. Let's be blunt. The divide between the PS4 and the X1 is less than the power gap between the PS3 and the 360. Yet even at the end of last generation after devs had years to adapt to the PS3's quirks, multiplat games still looked all but identical. There wasn't even a massive difference in exclusives.
A significant difference in raw power does not necessarily translate to a significant difference in graphics, like it or not...
People are amusing. I can't think of a single console in recent memory that had a strong launch line up, or a decent library of games for the first year or so. Needless to say, it cracks me up to see people buying a new console day one only to complain about the lack of games, when they should know better.
I didn't buy my PS4 until a few days ago for exactly that reason. At launch, there weren't any games on either console I was interested in. Now though, I'v...
Riiiight. The PS4 isn't focusing on Indies anymore than the X1 is. As for remasters, the X1's biggest game this fall is a remastering of the first 4 Halo games. And lying to you about games being native 1080p? Killzone was native 1080p in the campaign. It only scaled down on multiplayer. Hard to call that 'lying'.
I bought my PS4 last week, and I'm not disappointed in the least. So far I've played The Last of Us and Killzone: Shadow Fall. The Last of Us was amazing, though Killzone was mediocre and it feels like the series hasn't improved much since I played the original on my PS2. I'll be picking up InFamous once I wear out the Last of Us, which is proving hard to do, and that'll cover me till Destiny releases next month.

Well, the PS4 is more powerful than the X1 simply based on sheer numbers. That much can't be argued. The question is how much of that difference in power will translate to a difference in graphics. The PS3 was somewhere along the lines of 50% more powerful than the 360, yet even at the very end of last generation, the vast majority of games looked all but identical. Most likely, like last generation, multi-plats will be nearly indistinguishable between the two, with the PS4's exclusiv...
No, it's merely proof that a no-name developer has no talent.
Really now? The PS4 is selling in record numbers, and the X1 is matching and surpassing the 360 in terms of units sold during it's first year on the market, and console gaming is dead? Right. The only, I repeat, only console that is struggling is the Wii U.
Except, it was never a 'strict DRM system'. Microsoft stated repeatedly that -any- restriction on used games or trading games with friends would solely be decided by individual developers and publishers, as has always been the case. Nothing on the PS4 or the X1 stops devs from implementing DRM if they want to.
Because 'change' isn't needed. Does the flavor of your favorite brand of chocolate cake change often? Of course not. You buy it because it tastes the same every single time, and you enjoy the flavor. Same thing with games. I've bought every single Halo game ever released. The core gameplay hasn't really changed. While they might add a new feature here or there, at it's core the mechanics are the same. And that's just the way I like it.
Now, if it&...
Let's see. Maybe if the ads were relevant, for example, having trailers for new games or advertisements for consoles and accessories, I might not feel the need to block said ads. However, when you put ads from everything from 'Try our super secret guaranteed weight loss program now!' to 'Suffering from hair loss? Try our formula now!' then don't expect me or anyone else to sit through them.
Sad but true. KIllzone is a terrible series as a whole, so I'm not expecting much from them.
Nothing from Nintendo interests me. Halo and Quantum Break on the X1, on the other hand, look promising. Nonetheless, I'm happy with my PS4 and it's line up.
Honestly, I'm tired of everyone expecting games to do something new -every time- to be considered great. Bungie is a master at the FPS genre, and they've refined it into an art form. Destiny has some unique elements that haven't been seen by most console gamers (The MMO-esque aspects and such)and meshes it together with solid FPS gameplay and what's shaping up to be an interesting story. In the end, if the shooting mechanics and such are as refined as Halo, then this game will...
So, the PS4, one of the best selling consoles in years, needs saving? Or the X1, which is selling more units than the 360 did in it's first year even when it had no competition needs saving? The only console that isn't doing so hot is the Wii U, and Nintendo has been going down this path for years.
Microsoft has a better offering? It's three biggest games are Ryse, Dead Rising 3, and Forza. Ryse has received universally mediocre reviews, as has Dead Rising. Forza was well-received, however.
Let's compare that to the PS4. You've got Killzone: Shadow Fall, InFamous, and the Last of Us Remastered. Killzone was mediocre, InFamous was well-received, and like the original TLOU: Remastered is regarded as a masterpiece.
How about upcoming titles...
This was amusing. There is no 'war' between PCs, but PC gamers spend an inordinate amount of time boasting about being the 'PC master race' and attempting to antagonize 'console peasants'. Surely if PC Gaming was this 'Pure Gaming' that was only about the 'experience' PC gamers wouldn't be just as juvenile as console fanboys?
Such as the illustrious Ryse or the critically-acclaimed Dead Rising 3? Oh wait....
'Why this article is a failure.'
1. 'It's an MMO!' No, it's not.
2. 'Boss Fights are boring!' It's a Beta. Many of the bosses were designed for higher level characters. The fact that you complain about having to spend '30 minutes' shooting a boss because you fought it at a low level is ridiculous.
3. 'The classes are the same!' To be fair, you admit that they will diverge as you develop yo...
Their 'draconian DRM' was 'we're leaving it up to the developers' which is the same as it's always been.
I own a PS4, but I still find it amusing how anyone thinks this is a 'loss'. Until now, games like Ryse and Dead Rising were disparaged as being terrible, but now that they are coming to other platforms, people are cheering and talking about how the X1 'lost' some of it's most 'important' titles.
