^I call myself a gamer. Very much so. I haven't played MGS4 though. I was never into the series, in fact never really played any of them (though I did watch my cousin, who is very much into the franchise, play a few of the games before).
So, I've done neither A, B, C, D, or E. That makes me a moron? Tsk, poor poor self-aborbed, holier-than-thou gamers.
I think both will be awesome. And actually, for me, I can't even compare the two. MAG will give us online like we've never seen before. Bringing tactical shooting to online finally instead of run-n-gun stuff. Just the scope of it and strategy will put it in a world its own. However, I think Operation Flashpoint will bring us what nothing else will match in single-player action. Filling a void created by lack of SOCOM (besides the online-only) on consoles this gen. So I really won't compare th...
@znu
I think it's bigger than that. Not referring to the $10, just the issue. I think this was just the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back though. Activision has been doing alot of shady and questionable things as of late, and this was the final straw for alot of people. Not to mention, it's not just a $10 hike for one game really. It's what could come of this, if the game sells well (which undoubtedly it will), since they're doing this just to test the market. Today it's MW2 ...
"Only time will tell if all that is enough to give arcade action gamers a real chance of success."
Arcade action gamers? What? Who cares about them? They shouldn't be touching this game anyways. By no means is it intended to be a game for "arcade action gamers". This is for people who want a real shooter and tactical game, not some lame ass arcade run-n-gun shooter. The ones that want that weak arcade stuff will be heading the way of CoD.
I reall...
@kigmal
Those signatures on there can be duplicated. If I want I can go in there and sign the thing a million times myself. The number on that petition means absolutely nothing.
I agree that it's not going to take a big percentage of their base before Activision takes notice. I'm sure they already notice now. And of course they care. As money hungry as they are...they care. However, ultimately that petition will do nothing really. Especially when you consider that anybody can go on there and sign multiple times, the number has no relevance whatsoever. The only thing that matters now is how well the game sells. Unfortunately all these idiots that sit here whining all ...
I have no problem whatsoever with Infinity Ward being "punished" for all this as well. They haven't even so much as came out with a "publishers set prices" comment or anything. But they've aligned themselves with these guys knowing full well what they're like. Given IW's history as well, I don't think they have any problems with what's going on anyways. Quite honestly, I think Infinity Ward is overrated anyways. Just like the CoD franchise. I don't see the big deal. The on...
An hour is still plenty time to announce things. I never originally thought that ALL the rumors would come to fruition at GamesCom, but they still have plenty time to announce some major things. Especially if they manage time well. I mean really how long does it take to say "And here's the PS3 Slim that we'll be dropping this fall, and in preparation for that, the current models will drop to $299" They don't really need alot of time for these things. Not to mention they don't have t...
Ok, here's the thing. I'm not doubting this necessarily, however there is something that doesn't exactly add up for me and kinda stands out. First off, GamesCom starts on Wednesday the 19th. The 3hour conference though was announced for Tuesday the 18th. Thus it was the day before GamesCom started. The way I always understood it was that they were having some huge pre-GamesCom conference (which not sure what the sense of that was, but the conference is 18th, GamesCom starts 19th). So is it po...
It was on the Platinum list over in UK, but had never made it to the Greatest Hits list here in US yet.
Though doesn't matter to me, I've had this game forever now. And even to this day I still think the $60 is worth it. This is quite possibly my favorite game this generation so far. Though I guess it's good for those people who were holding out for a price drop on it, for whatever that might've been that they were waiting.
Seriously, not the place for this stuff. Your explanation is in your PM inbox.
^I don't know. WET doesn't look "horrible". I wouldn't say that. It looks mildly interesting I think. I kinda like the style of it and the Tarantino vibe of it. Probably not going to be one I buy. Definitely not anytime soon at least, maybe if I can get it real cheap down the line I might give it a try.
As for Brutal Legend: October 13th....unless I've missed something. That game just doesn't interest me though.
Well it's not going to compare to the SOCOM of ps2 days simply because there's no campaign, if that's what you mean. Other than that, I feel the online is right up there with any of the past SOCOM online games. Maybe even better in some aspects.
Or maybe it's not as accidental as we think. One leak...sure, it's a leak. Two? Three? Four? Seems Sony has had more than its fair share of 'leaks' this generation. I don't think any company would be THAT bad at keeping secrets. Something tells me not everything was accidental.
I don't know, I have to disagree. Especially after getting a better look with SpaceSquirrel's link to more pics of it. It looks pretty damn good. I actually really like that. Granted I know it's not real, but I think it's pretty cool looking. Be curious to see what Sony themselves show next week.
That mockup is actually pretty f*cking awesome. That has to be the best looking "ps3 slim" I've seen around. I wouldn't be mad at all if that turned out to be the real one (of course I understand it's not, but just mean if it looked something like that).
God I can't wait til next week.
lol Exactly. That's the place I go to all the time for sales and deals. I get news here, then jump over there to see what kind of new deals I can get on games I want. Gamers need to bookmark that place or something if this is a serious hobby to them (which I'm assuming it is if they're here). Can save so much money with the heads up you get over there. I would figure everybody would know about it, but then you get comments like "it's nice having a place that lets us know about sales/deal...
@Silent Knight
You are really REALLY doing yourself a disservice then. Gave up on it after a month? Then you definitely missed it all. Granted the game had its issues when it first came out. As of now though, it's all cleared up and works fine. I was disappointed there was no campaign in the game, but that's it. The game now is great. Really fun online game (probably my favorite online shooter--MAG might end up taking that though). If you truly are a SOCOM fan and enjoyed the online pla...
All my racing needs/wants are covered in one fell swoop (well, except for what ModNation brings).
oh....and the sky cracks and falls as the gods rejoice in utter elation....of course.
Seriously, can't wait for this game. This game truly does cover pretty much all racing needs/wants. I need GT5 and ModNation. That's it. Most likely be the only two racing games I ever own again this gen. Enjoyed Prologue, just wasn't much to it at all really. Already traded that in r...
@Chaos
I understand where you're coming from but you're wrong. Just because Sony announces the slim doesn't mean they'll drop it right then (or that week even). However, they do have to do SOMETHING. They can hold off a couple months if they want after they announce the slim. But, they will have to initiate a price cut on the current models almost immediately (within the week) to go with that. So they don't need to release the slim, but they will need to drop the price. This helps also ...
