Um...why would they put more fat models on the market when they're trying to get rid of them? Shortage (and soon-to-be extinction) of the fat PS3 is the whole idea of what they're going for.
Edit: lol Guess Harry beat me down the path of logic there.
This has nothing to do with the popularity or the pre-sales of the Slim. Rather it has to do with investors' opinion of the price cut. Which seemingly they didn't like over there, possibly due to them thinking the price cut will cut into Sony's money even more (which probably doesn't bode well for those investors who think that after recently coming off of a 390 million dollar loss). Though I personally think that's being a bit short-sighted about the deal as this new model cuts part of the e...
Yea, something like that. That's the only logic I can make of the situation, cause like you, I find the situation to be pretty baffling. For the life of me, I can't make any real sense of it all. I mean there's not really anything impressive that it offers over the regular PSP other than aesthetic stuff. Though there is one thing that I haven't seen mentioned. Is the regular PSP going to be able to access the app store and download games like the PSP Go? Can't really see how they'd want to ma...
Yea, since you put that "after Uncharted 2" on there, then you are not alone. I'm with you. I was hooked the moment I saw this game at E3. It will be a day one buy for me. And I just know me and my friends are going to put alot of time into this game and have tons of fun. I've been hooked from the start and with each new look at the game I'm even more excited about it.
Well I'm pretty sure PSP and PS3 divisions do communicate, so I'd nix that out. I think we can agree Sony obviously isn't stupid or they wouldn't be where they are and be the huge company they are today. And power tool obviously not. I will have to agree though. $250 for the psp go after they've now announced that the ps3 will only be $50 more now, does seem a bit weird. I myself am wondering about that as well. I mean, you can still get a PSP for cheaper than that obviously which will work t...
LOL I always find it funny when I come into one of these threads like this and see all those deleted remarks. It's pretty funny seeing the casualties and the aftermath of these ignorant fanboys.
More on topic: I think Sony is really hitting their stride now with PS3. That price cut and the Slim should really give them a huge boost. Along with the great lineup coming for the rest of this fiscal year (that includes the first quarter of 2010 people). They really are on a roll right ...
The dynamic themes could indeed make some cool lil pre-order bonuses. I'd imagine they'll do like they do with themes now though (as far as pricing), where they'll have some free ones to draw you in, then premium ones that you have to pay for (and are probably a bit better). I would half imagine those three they showed there as coming with the firmware for free.
@insanemcbain
um....you mean the backup feature that is included on the ps3?
If I'm not mistaken there will be more avatars coming with this firmware. They'll be introducing them and continuing to put more out through the PSN Store. Both free and premium avatars.
That is very neat indeed. Especially if it allows you to just jump in and out of a game like it seemed to do there in that video. Even better if it allows you to do that with multiple games (since it showed last 3 you played), being able to practically seamlessly jump from MLB: The Show to play a lil Fat Princess, then back to MLB without ever having to go through those loading up screens and whatnot. Even better if it remembers your "bookmark" like that when you switch between disc...
Definitely. I've been wanting them to implement more animated themes. The original theme got old and the still picture theme I have now just seems so stoic in comparison. That LBP and Pixeljunk one they showed though look pretty cool. Be interesting to see if they allow for users to create these new types of themes like they do/did with the current style of themes.
Exactly. I just had that feeling when I saw ModNation at E3. Knew from then on I would be buying this game. But this trailer here just takes it to a whole new level. The scope and detail of that track and city...just awesome. I feel like a giddy schoolgirl right now lol I'm really excited about this game.
Indeed. Looks like a ton of fun. I never got into the LBP creation much, cause frankly it was intimidating. This however looks easier and not as intimidating. Yet, still manages to look like you can design with the same degree of detail and all. I will definitely get into on this. And the community created levels I can just imagine. I mean we know some of the best levels in LBP came from users creating them (better than even MM did). So, I can just imagine what we'll see from this game, espec...
I'm sitting here reading the live blog on VG247 (which is pretty much just reciting what Peter is saying it seems). I will say he has a way for building something up. This game is sounding f*cking awesome. Fable has been one of the few titles that I feel regret about missing out on since I'd never buy a 360. Fable 3 here is sounding awesome. I really like the whole strategy element with the Judgment feature and all. Game is sounding very nice indeed.
Now it's over? Fable talk is ...
OMG!!! That looks f*cking awesome. That huge city? That sh*t is amazing. Looks like this is going to get into some serious creation tools. I can't wait. The more I see the more hyped I am about this game. I want it NOW! And new terrain I notice as well. There's the desert that I remember somebody asking about before.
This is probably my most anticipated game this year. Actually...no probably about it. Definitely. This game is going to be epic. Just like the first one was an amazing experience. I'm going to have to go back and play the first game when we edge a lil closer to the release of UC2 just to truly and fully build up for the epic experience that will be UC2. And god does this game look good.
As for the trailer, just....wow. Truly is riveting. On par really with truly epic Hollywood m...
Yea it should be amazing to see how all these characters' stories weave together and what epic story unfolds. I can see some sort of "Crash" or "11:14" clever plot playing out in this game. Which makes it even more appealing. You're right though, this won't be a game, it will truly be an experience.
I can't wait for this game. Going to be day one buy definitely. This is definitely a great move towards mature games I think. Narrative actually taking to the forefront. Seems like the story for this is going to be awesome. This trailer was pretty emotionally involving. I do, however, think I'm going to have to stop watching things for this game now. I don't want to ruin it since this is going to revolve around the story. Should be epic. I've definitely seen more than enough to be sold.
I have to go with darkride and a couple others. BC could be useful to some, but quite frankly it's not something that Sony should get so much flack for not having. If I had the option, I'd probably use it (namely so I could go back and play the first two GOWs and then Ico's first two games before I play the third games). However, like darkride (i think) mentioned, you can get a ps2 very cheap. Really I bought my ps3 to play ps3 games, as an overwhelming majority did. Most of those probably ca...
I agree wholeheartedly that Activision sucks and are evil. And I will even give EA credit cause they've really seemed to turn things around lately and gotten past their "monster" ways. It's funny, however, that it's EA that finally comes out to speak out against Activision.
If we're lucky maybe EA can give Activision some pointers on how bad being the "huge and ugly monster" can be for them and show them how they made the turn around for Activision to follow ...
I've seen (on numerous accounts) where you can get a pre-owned/used ps2 for $30. So yea, I agree with you.
