You didn't read the article did you? These are indie devs saying that the articles about Xbox abandoning indies isn't hurting Microsoft, it's hurting the indie devs!
Please don't read the headlines or a comment, read what these people are saying.
I was impressed, I think that next generation means better physics, graphics and opportunities. The biggest thing for me, is the ability to play COD with dedicated servers for the first time on a console.
We all know host advantage sucks, and so does host migration, or getting thrown into the main menu lobby when someone rage quits and just turns off their console, so hopefully the implementation of dedicated servers, at least on Xbox One, helps those issues.
If the game is always online, it doesn't need mandatory online checks yes?
The Wii U doesn't have up-gradable hardware, and we don't know if the PS4 will either, but you can use a standalone external HDD, which is what I do with my Wii U now.
Doesn't the PS3 have mandatory HDD installs for games? and we still don't know if the PS4 will, but one assumes so.
The jury is also still out on Sony and used games, if developers ...
I'm just pointing out the truth to be honest, I never said I didn't like the PS4, plan on getting one of those too, just need to learn more about it.
I think people are piling on and finding every little thing to hate on Microsoft and the Xbox One at this point. How is privacy issues with technology only an Xbox problem? Seriously? It's a problem for every form of technology that has internet and a camera.
I live in Florida, no basements here be...
Looks like it works so much better than the original, I have a feeling the Xbox 360 owners over the last couple of years were beta testing Kinect and things like SmartGlass, which both look to play big roles with Xbox One.
Far too controversial, I mean the way it's understood is that there will be no indies on the Xbox One.
You can do video chat with the PS Eye, I've heard of people doing some pretty raunchy things with that, same with cell phone cameras.
I'm not saying I promote it, just pointing out that it's not something completely new and astonishing.
I'm interested to see what sales will be like if the Xbox 360 finally gets a price drop and possibly a super slim at E3? Wii U needs some games...the Wii is outselling it.
Yes, Destiny is a game, playable on Xbox One and every other console. Did we all forget that Destiny is an online only game? Or do we look past that at this point? I mean I've had it pre-ordered for a while, just curious why we haven't seen people accuse Bungie of being anti-consumer.
How is this a different concern that parents buying an iPhone for their kids? I mean kids take pictures of their butt's, teens sext and do things like that. If you had a Vision cam or PS Eye you probably engaged in some illicit thing online already, this is nothing completely new.
Uno was popular for a long time over Xbox Live and I remember many a game of strip Uno.
Amazing game, and the best cut scenes in gaming today. The multiplayer is fun too, if you were hesitant in the past to play online, this one balances things nicely in my opinion.
I wonder if it'll be more for like interactive TV? I could see if you are using SmartGlass or something like that, or maybe like the whole National Geographic TV with Kinect is used right now, I believe you already get Achievements for using that, or maybe I'm wrong and they want to add those in.
Anyway, it's a nice idea if it's something like interactive television, probably not for just sitting and watching a show though.
Nice to see a positive article for a change, I want an Xbox One, yes I don't support the "rumored" idea of not being able to loan games to friends, but until that is confirmed it isn't fact.
While people were busy being angry, I was thinking how great that controller looks to be, how having dedicated servers on every single Xbox Live games is going to be a true game changer (imagine COD finally being playable?), and I just imagine how much better the games ...
I'd just like to say that is one of the most level headed comments I've seen around here lately, I bubbled you up!
I'd also like to throw in that it's crazy for people to think Microsoft comes out and says this in an attempt at damage control, obviously they have big plans for the Xbox One, and games are a part of that. One thing is for sure, there will be a lot of advertising going on, and Microsoft is setting up the Xbox One to have content for everyone, if ...
Something tells me it'll come to PC as well, it wouldn't make sense for it not to. One of the good things about Bungie leaving Microsoft and Halo is that we get to see some of their more creative things across all platforms, which is something not possible before, especially if they were stuck with Halo games only.
Since it looks like 343i can do a solid job with Halo, it ends up being a win/win situation for gamer's.
Yeah, the Cloud is a big part, but every single game on Xbox Live for Xbox One will be on dedicated servers.
It's sort of something we might see in the future, as we've already heard some developers talk about how the Xbox One can become more powerful over time, so I think it's clear that Microsoft expects the internet to get better over the next 3-5 years, which is very possible.
I agree, I mean if Sony came out and said "We have a big announcement for the PS3 at E3" and then went on to say "We think we can reach 100 million consoles in the next five years", I highly doubt anyone on N4G would disagree, yet when Microsoft says those exact words, people are skeptical. I guess they all just figured Microsoft would give up on the 360 ?
@amiga-man
You do realize the check in every 24 hour thing isn't confirmed? Same with used game fees, but if Microsoft were to implement them, Sony would too. Sony hasn't been clear on used games at all.
Paying for Xbox Live has never bothered me, it seems to bother people who don't like Microsoft, but I've never paid more than $35 a year for it, which breaks down to less than $3 a month, throw in the dedicated servers for every Xbox One game, and it ...
Holy crap! That is a nice feature for gamer's...look at that.
