What if Microsoft was pushing out their big AAA titles like Gears and Halo on the Xbox 360, while the majority of their studios were working on next gen core games? I mean we know 80% of their studios haven't released anything in years.
That is what makes the most sense to me, you can fault them if you don't like the big AAA games like I do, but I found myself using my Xbox 360 more in the last 3, 4 years than at any other time.

Sony did that because that is what they've always preached, they are also going after the exact same market as Microsoft, they want family and casual gamer's too.
I wont fault Microsoft for trying to appeal to as many people as possible, but at the same time I'm sure Microsoft has done focus groups and realize core gamer's buy consoles at launch.

Start off by saying the next Xbox is fully disc based backwards compatible, Your profile as well as all of the Achievements and digital games will carry over to the new console. It will really be huge to bring that to the table as it offers something (backwards compatibility) that Sony just cant offer.

Aaron Greenberg already stated that May 21st is all about the next Xbox, so I'd suspect we'll see the console, get it's name, features and a few games showing off the new tech, but E3 is all about "tons" of exclusive game reveals.

Aside from knowing a handful of games and specs, we know nothing about the PlayStation 4. How can we proclaim a victor before either have divulged significant information, like price, release date, full list of games and..oh what these consoles look like?

I think he's in Arkham Origins, he's probably narrating in the future and telling a story going on from the past, and it could have two settings and take place a bit in both, we don't know yet.
Bizarre Creations was owned by Activision, while Project Gotham Racing is owned by Microsoft, it wasn't as if Microsoft had a choice in the matter, and actually most of those guys helped make Forza Horizon, which was my favorite racer this generation hands down.

Why would they get the guy people want to voice Batman, put him in the game, let him record dialog for 10 months, and then not let the guy play Batman? Unless he's telling the story and narrating it as a future Batman, or some other reason, this is a bit disheartening.
Valve is skipping E3, and I'm not sure they're even working on Half Life 3 at this point.
I'll think we'll see at least something on a new Zelda HD game though, Bioware also will be at E3, probably showing off the new next gen Dragon Age game, so ME4 could be there as well, but it might be too early to see anything concrete, the rest is most likely vaporware at this point.
Microsoft also trademarked ForzaVista, so it could go PGR or Forza, I'd love either one!
I was just a bit curious as to how you think they did that? Do you think a blurry video will take away hype if Microsoft actually shows their new console tomorrow? because I don't think that would be the case.
It was smart of Sony to release this now, but blurry images and teases aren't really a match for an actual reveal in my opinion anyway.
I wouldn't expect a bunch of game announcements tomorrow, Aaron Greenberg already stated E3 is all about games, May 21st is mostly the Xbox reveal.
Actually the spec leak for the PS4 had that at only 6 gigs, and I don't buy rumors anyway, so I'm looking forward to facts for a change of pace.
Although I got a good laugh at rumors and people who believed lot of crazy ones.
I want to see a controller with a better D-Pad, sleekly designed console, I want the console name, I want games actually played on the console. Want to see the new OS, and some of the other features. Hopefully some surprises, I'm excited that we're this close to the reveal and nothing concrete has leaked.
If this is true, that would be sweet. I love the Forza series and that would in a way kind of one up GT6, since the new Forza would be optimized on the new Xbox hardware. If you're releasing a new console, might as well put the game people want on it!
