I'm glad they are choosing to close out the Xbox 360's life with such a great game. Gears Of War was what put me onto the Xbox 360 in the first place, glad to see them close out their generation with such a sweet looking game!
There is so many great looking games to buy next year, its too bad I know I probably wont be getting a lot of them because the new consoles are going to be released and that takes top priority for me.
I think this could be due to the slight decline, but I think the franchise is fine as a whole. Personally I think MW3 left a bit of a bad taste in some peoples mouth, I had high expectations for BO2, but I believe they changed it too much for the fan that has been with the franchise since the start.
I disagreed because as a gamer I don't care about sales or who won. Every console this generation has put out some amazing games. Its been a bit of up and down, but arguing over something as dumb as numbers, especially when a new generation has just kicked off, doesn't make much sense.
If PS3 is fine for you, then that is great, but people can like other consoles as well. I own all of them, including a Wii U. Nobody thought the Wii would do anything last generation a...
Its not perfect and like every other award show its pretty much bought and paid for via various corporations, but it does bring gaming to the forefront and out of what people tend to perceive as "something nerds do".
Its a spectacle and there can be some decent reveals like last years The Last Of Us reveal. So its at best a bit of a mixed blessing, but at least its a pretty big gaming related event that makes the news. I'm so tired of negative gaming news latel...
I signed it, I think its a great idea and it would be super easy for third party developers to add them since they already to them for the Xbox 360/PS3.
PS3 didn't launch with a system, but I remember a ton of complaints and eventually Sony listened, so hopefully Nintendo offers them in the future as well, it just sucks that not every game will have them from the start, which is one of the things I liked about the Xbox 360.
Lets face it, all of the big three have certain franchises that pay the bills. They shouldn't be ashamed of it, as long as the quality is there and people want the games, who cares?
I loved God Of War 3, and recently started playing through the God Of War Saga that I bought on Black Friday for $10, they are really enjoyable titles and even the PSP games are fun and enjoyable. Has this generation become so jaded that we cant let people like what they want to without trying...
True enough everything is down, but that is because of market saturation. There obviously isn't going to be the demand for the current consoles in year seven that there was in previous years.
I will say that I read an article that says gaming is actually up now compared to when the first next gen console launched (Xbox 360) in 2005. You cant expect growth every year, and the Xbox 360 technically had the best year of its life in 2011, its pretty unbelievable that they are ...
Please do research before you post the same regurgitated statements that ignorant fanboys post.
Rare was basically a shovelware developer for the NES in the 1980's, they put out over 50 games, mostly licensed properties like Sesame Street and Nightmare On Elm Street. They had mass turnover because of working conditions.
Eventually they made some quality games, but the team that built GoldenEye on the N64 was actually a brand new side division of Rare whos...
Best of luck to him, you'd think with the AAA Gears Of War Judgment, Fortnite and the new Unreal Engine 4 that people would have stuck around. Sort of reminds me of what happened to G4, a lot of the better people left before the channel was sold off.
Looks to me that Epic Games is about to be bought out, the question is by whom?
The fact that Xbox was number one for November isn't a surprise. The fact that it was down also isn't a surprise, last year it sold over a million on Black Friday. We also have to keep in mind that the Xbox 360 had its best year ever last year, would have been a hard year to top.
Xbox 360 is long in the tooth and the fact that its still leading anywhere is pretty impressive, it speaks to the quality and fanbase that Microsoft has achieved this generation.
Well they don't really make stereo systems anymore, my consoles are hooked up to stereo surround sound system, so I like to chill and listen to music on them from time to time, it allows me to crank it up a bit.
There are a couple of free satellite radio options on Xbox Live as well. I usually have a few people a day listening to one or the other, so there is obviously a market for it.
Well it's obviously going to be a totally new IP. Just because the studio is saying they want to make the next "Halo or Gears" doesn't mean shooter, it means huge franchise.
I kind of doubt sci fi shooter because they could have bought out Crytek years ago but decided they didn't need another sci fi shooter in their stable of games, doubt much has changed and they don't want something to compete against the already huge Gears or Halo. Also, Rare had ...
Oddly enough Free Radical was founded by ex-Rare members. Rare has had mass defections throughout their history, of course most people choose to believe they went downhill when Microsoft purchased them, actually they had defections in the 80's and 90's as well as the early 2000's due to harsh working conditions and extensive hours.
Most people think Rare was all great games, they made shovel ware in the 80's for the NES, a lot of licensed games like Nightmare...
This is a pretty detailed explanation and it seems very plausible. It's hard to believe that Haze possibly played a role in the demise of the Battlefront series, I mean I realize the game was god awful, but who knew it could destroy something controlled by The Force?
I had to call a little BS when I heard Free Radical saying the game was so close to being completed, from the leaked footage it looked like they were maybe 60% done or so. A game that was above 90% finished w...
Microsoft has quietly released a Halo game every year for the last 4 or 5 years, but they weren't Halo sequels per se.
I think Halo 5 is in development, but the only studio that will handle the Master Chief Halo games is obviously 343i. I could see Halo 2 Anniversary next year, then Halo Wars 2 the year after. No way do we see Halo 5 next year though, I'd bet a million dollars.
I find it funny when uneducated people say things like "Rare is dead now" or "I miss old Rare". I'd suggest you guys do a little homework.
Rare has gone through 3 separate mass defections, the Stamper Brothers, who created Rare were notorious for terrible working conditions. Seven day work weeks, 18 hour days and only Christmas mornings off, but you had to show up for the evening shift.
Rare has been restaffed quite a bit, in fact ...
Those are great numbers all around, surprisingly I saw a ton of regular Wii's flying off the shelves on Black Friday. Everything is up, yet people are still finding things to argue and complain about.
At the end of the day, if the console you prefer hasn't sold as much as the one you don't prefer, how does that affect the fun you have with you're console?
Weird how people act about things like console sales.
Microsoft announced the original Xbox and Xbox 360 before E3. They held their own presser and I'd suspect the same thing this time around. Microsoft will want to focus on launch games, price, release date and they will also want to show off Xbox 360 games and features at E3 as well, so I'd fully suspect a reveal before E3.
If I had to guess, I'd say early April, after Gears Judgment.
I think most people already figured on this, I know I've been suspecting it for quite some time now. Hopefully the leaked documents were right and we'll see at least one version priced at or around $299. I highly doubt Microsoft will price anything higher than $400, they can afford to take a loss on hardware at launch, just like with the original Xbox and the 360.
Here's hoping for backwards compatibility, that is a huge selling point for me, because unlike last ...
I loved the trailer, I was wondering what the game was...then it was Dark Souls 2. I'm not really a fan, but the trailer looked damn good.
