Not really, but realistically it isn't needed in a lot of games, but that doesn't stop developers from slapping it on there.
I understand why developers do it, because consumers want the most bang for their buck, but the fact of the matter is only s few games keep a long lasting community online and stay competitive. The Assassins Creed, Mass Effect 3 and Far Cry 3's of the world will never be able to compete with the longevity of COD, Halo or Battlefield.
Good thing as a gamer I only care about gaming, not numbers and not hate. Wii U is an interesting gaming experience and Nintendo all swings for the fences with their first party games.
Not sure why people are acting all upset over a list that is based off opinion. I bet there isn't a single one of us who could come up with a list that EVERYONE agreed on. It's pretty tough to come up with a top 50 list.
This is an interesting list, some of the developers I've never even heard of, but it isn't something worth arguing over.
Very impressive numbers, a little shocked that the Wii U didn't really do as well as expected. I bought a Wii U and am enjoying it very much. I also bought two Xbox 360s consoles as Christmas gifts, so I'm guessing I'm not the only one with that idea. Pretty much all month long you could pick up a 4 gig 360 for $99-$149, which is a steal.
Microsoft has done what nobody thought they could do at the beginning of this generation, and that is capture the North Americ...
Really looking forward to this game, not sure why people are so hung up with comparing it to other games, pretty much any game that releases has similarities with other games or movies.
Microsoft just takes a different path than Sony when it comes to exclusives. Usually we'd see around 3 great years of exclusives, Microsoft really pumped out great games for the first few years, where as Sony was lackluster for the first couple of years. It all evens out and comes down to preference.
If you are new to the Xbox 360 or the PS3, there is a TON of back catalog games to enjoy.
I think with AAA third party games becoming better and better, bo...
The PS2 was a once in a lifetime machine, but honestly I hadn't seen a new one available here in the states in almost 5 years. The news that they have ceased production worldwide is basically symbolic.
I don't think Microsoft see's incentive to copy PSN+, especially when more people pay for Xbox Live Gold the way it is. I also believe that Xbox Live Gold helps make up for the used game market, which is why their first party games didn't employ "Online passes" like the competition did.
If you are making a billion a year on Gold subscriptions, you don't fret about used games. After all of these years I think people are either going to go with XBL, o...
Really good idea, I picked up the Sly Collection recently and enjoyed it, but didn't want to pay a full $60 for a new game in the series, I'm not a huge platform fan, but at this price it'll be hard not to pick it up.
Hopefully it does well because platform games are a bit of a lost art these days.
No, it's not going to compete with Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony. The main issue is that most of the gamers that play those consoles prefer physical media, and any Steam Box is going to be all digital. I'd see some of the current PC people possibly buying into it, but it wont even take a percentage point away from hardcore console gamers.
Sweet! Alex Brand is a huge part of the extended Gears universe, glad you'll finally have a chance to play as her. Wonder if the hit detection for the female characters are going to be smaller than the male characters like in Gears 3?
Well I agree 100%, when you look at the most powerful consoles each generation, they almost always lost the console race for that particular generation. I loved the PS1/PS2 and those weren't the most powerful consoles at the time. As long as they try and appeal to every type of gamer, like they did with the PS1/PS2, keep the price affordable like with those consoles, and continue to make great games, they will be in a good place next generation.
Looking to close out the Xbox 360 in style! The game that got me to buy an Xbox 360 in the first place was when I saw Gears Of War for the first time, I knew I wanted an Xbox 360 and I got one on launch date.
Now that we are so close to the end of this console and the release of the next one, I'm happy they are closing out the exclusive series that got so many people into the Xbox 360 in the first place.
I think the game looks great, and Halo 4 has taug...
I think it looks like it could be something cool, I mean it does look immersive as hell, but looks a bit distracting too. At least you don't have to wear glasses like with 3-D though, which immersed you as well, but the glasses quickly took you out of that feel.
I'll be skeptical until I can try it out for myself, but it does look interesting, fresh, new and promising.
It's comparing apples to oranges really. 4K is trying to be the next 3-D and the Illumiroom is just trying to be a gimmick to attract a more mainstream audience and possibly blaze a path like the original Wii did. Both could be okay, I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I think price factors in a lot for most people.
I don't usually go in for HD Collections, but I enjoyed the God Of War Saga, Jak And Daxter Collection, Sly Cooper Collection, Metal Gear Solid Collection and as a standalone I loved Halo CEA, which was totally redone and set the bar for remakes in my opinion.
Crazy Joe..........
Not to get too political but the leaders here in the US are a complete and utter joke, not only are we heading more and more into a socialist society, but the rights our forefathers wanted for us, like the right to bear arms, are getting slowly taken away because of isolated incidents that spark fear and the fear mongering news outlets reporting on it like they do.
Outlawing guns wont take them off the streets, it will only take away prot...
Well it is stating the obvious, but it's nice to hear from one of the console makers. I doubt we'll ever see a point where consoles hit 100+ million sales again, but there will always be a demand for dedicated home consoles.
Looks interesting, I enjoyed the voice commands with Mass Effect 3, and these look as enjoyable. Glad to see they are implementing it in games like Dead Space, which is one of my all time favorite series. Options are always a good thing in my opinion.
Why waste time, development and money on something this late in the cycle? Everything right now is pointing towards a new Xbox launching this year, they have around 18 studios that have been very, VERY quiet for the last 2, 3 years.
I think Microsoft just takes the idea to launch a new console with a strong lineup.
Interested to see what the next Xbox brings!
