Is it weird that this is the game that I bought a Wii U for? It just looks so fun and I enjoy simple yet fun games.

I doubt we see anything like we saw with the PS1/PS2 from any company in the future. I think everything will be closely matched, sort of like this generation with the exception of the Wii. It will all come down to preference and which companies can offer the most to every type of gamer out there.

This isn't like it was with the PS1/PS2, there isn't the same brand loyalty as in the past. I remember Sony making claims that next generation started when they said so, but it just isn't that way anymore.

Some people buy whatever comes out first, sure some are brand loyalists, some people will buy what is cheapest. If Sony announces a PS4 in Feb with a 2014 launch, or late 2013 launch, it might not be the disadvantage that you think for Microsoft, they would hav...

Well I cant really speak for any other gamers but my money will be set aside for new consoles, something so close to that might get skipped for a bit.

Wii U isn't doing bad, we just don't fully understand the toll that tablets and smartphones will have on new consoles. Over 3 million sold isn't really bad, they are still on track to be close to 10 million by the time the next Xbox and PlayStation release.

I think they probably overestimated how the games they launched with would push the console. They needed Zelda or something like a 3D Mario game to push people into wanting one. Third party games that were alr...

This puts the title in a bad spot, new consoles loom large in the November/December area.

Selling over 3 million in only a couple of months is still pretty good, I'd expect them do sell more when they show off some of the first party games people actually want. I was blown away by the last Nintendo Direct and I know I cant be the only one. The lack of third party support is troubling, but everyone here at N4G seems to think the Vita is perfectly fine without third party games, Nintendo should be alright as well.

Honestly they haven't had decent third part...

Despite what someone at EA says, the Wii U is technically next generation simply because of the number of consoles Nintendo has released. Nintendo has always been about accessibility and fun gameplay. The Wii U is definitely fun, I'd love to see some of the rumored E3 titles in action, Smash Brothers, Zelda and a 3D Mario game, but I've been more then happy with my purchase.

It is looking like Nintendo will get the short end of the stick when it comes to third party ...

$350-$399 max! That goes the same for Microsoft's next console. I bought a Wii U because it was priced right for me, and at this point new hardware shouldn't have a ton of really expensive parts. Blu Ray is cheap now, I don't see how these things could be more than $399 at most.

Guess this means we'll be getting a Battlefield game every single year. Bad Company/Battlefield/Bad Company/Battlefield.

Even though everything has just been rumored to this point, it's all pointed to the next Xbox being backwards compatible, which would make sense, especially from the standpoint that Microsoft wont want to tick off anyone who bought a Kinect.

Even if Kinect 2.0 is included with the next Xbox, the older Kinect games will still have to work. I don't think it'd take much from an architecture standpoint to make the next Xbox compatible with original Xbox and Xbox 360, ...

The main things I want are backwards compatibility, the ability to play used games and continued quality online service as well as games. A strong launch lineup is very important, would love to see them revisit some older IP's like Blinx, which actually sold very well on the original Xbox.

Since this Xbox wont be rushed like the 360, there shouldn't be any hardware issues, the 360s is like a rock, very sturdy.I wouldn't expect them to make any online portion free ...

They could always use LO2 as a release title for the next Xbox, if they truly want to get any foothold in Japan they will need to try and get some JRPG's like LO into the mix.

Even though I'm not a huge JRPG fan, I really got into this game and thought the story was done very well. Usually I don't like the crazy and over the top stories in JRPG's, but it wasn't too bad and it had a lot of depth and likable characters.

I'm sure this will be filled with fanboy comments, but there have been numerous Rare departures throughout their history, most people don't realize the conditions that the Stamper Brothers put on their employees in the early days. There were 3 separate mass defections, so I always get a kick when people say things like "old Rare". I always ask which old Rare? The team that built Goldeneye was new and that was their first game. The main team was working on Banjo Kazooie.

I think quite a few 3rd party developers still support the Wii and PSP, I'm glad for it. I only recently got into the PSP and I'm finding a ton of great games on the cheap. I've had a Wii for a while, but I am still enjoying a lot of the games that release for it. I know my family all loves the Just Dance series, so those obviously will continue to sell well.

When you have an established user group, you continue to put games out for those people. It makes sense. ...

Sounds like they are doing the right things here, I enjoyed the Killzone game on the PSP, which I only recently bought and finished, but the third person aspect threw me off. Glad they are going with first person and keeping the quality up.

Hopefully they bundle this game with the Vita and a memory card for under $200. I'd buy something like that for the price. I just cant afford $250+$50(game)+$50 (Memory card).

I would love a Vita, but with new consoles la...

I play a lot of Halo 4 as well, but to be fair, those are p2p as well. It just seems like it gives host to the better connection more often than not in Halo 4.

This BO2 patch did actually improve the game and make it playable imo. At least the sniper rifles aren't running amok like before.

I give Treyarch props for their continued efforts to fix the game, last night there were over a million users on BO2 on the Xbox 360, which surprised me. I hadn't played it for a month or so because it was so bad.

I found that while not everything was fixed, it is at least playable in my opinion. I hate the fact that you need to do so much to get simple kill-streaks now though, hopefully they continue to balance and fix some of the still lingering problems.
