I got the God Of War Saga for $15, Sly Collection for $10, Firefly on Blu Ray for $12, Max Payne 3 for $15 and a few other great deals. Oddly enough I missed some of these on Black Friday, they were all taken before they started, so I was glad they were back on sale today.
This could do well as a cheap alternative to some of the other consoles. Not every parent is going to drop $250-$350 on a new console, especially for younger kids. I know I was out at Black Friday and all of the Wii console deals were sold out, the Skylanders Wii unit went really fast and almost caused a riot.

The game was too different for mainstream Forza fans, I can understand trying to piggyback off the incredible Forza name and reputation, but at the end of the day it was an open world arcade racer, it was brilliant and I love it, but the hardcore sim Forza fan probably didn't bother.

I think some people like to hate on popular things without actually trying to them. Halo is a great franchise and so much more than a first person shooter, I have all of the Halo games, including the Halo Wars Collectors Edition.

Xbox Live Gold members get a lot of early content, DLC, Demos and beta's that others don't get or get at a later date. You can choose to download items while your console is off as well, I'm not sure its me that hasn't done homework on the subject.

As a proud Wii U owner, it does upscale and smooth out standard Wii games. I started playing through Skyward Sword again on my Wii U and it looks fantastic, wide screen and up-scaled.
Its a next gen console because "next gen" isn't a term describing the power or technical prowess of a console, rather the number in which it was released, so even though the Wii was the weakest current gen console, it was still next gen along with PS3 and the Xbox 360.

Xbox Live isn't going anywhere anytime soon, it's more popular now than ever. There are obviously other options aside from Xbox Live Gold Membership, if the cost is that big of an issue, just go with PC or PS3.

Don't a lot of current developers say there is still plenty left in the current consoles? I don't think they will be maxed out within an hour at all. Look at the release games for the Xbox 360, games like Prey and Saints Row, they were both great games, but hardly touched the true power of the Xbox 360, seven years later you get a great and true HD Halo game for the first time.

Well I believe that if Nintendo had come out with the Wii U in 2010, it would have been a great stopgap console. They might very well still look at it that way, but I wouldn't see the Wii U lasting a full 6 years. I love it, and I think it'll do well, not having any new consoles to compete with for at least a year, maybe longer, will definitely help Nintendo in the long run.

Disneyland didn't open with all the rides and attractions working, so I wouldn't ever expect something as big as a next generation console launch to be 100% smooth, overall I'm very happy with the Wii U thus far, took me a little over an hour for the update and everything.
I think last Black Friday they sold a million Xbox 360's and almost a million Kinect units as well, they could surpass that this year, $150 is hard to pass up, especially the Skylanders deal, I can imagine a lot of parents picking that up for their kids.

Nintendo-Land is a lot of fun, everyone in my family has been playing it all day. I am around halfway through New Super Mario Bro's U, and Assassins Creed 3 doesn't have that draw in that was on the Xbox 360/PS3 versions.
