Well considering the majority of their first party studios haven't done anything, hiring at Rare and Lionhead for next gen titles, 343 already at work on the next Halo for the next Xbox, Black Tusk was recently renamed that, and it was outed that they were working on a core AAA title. There was the first ever AAAA title in the works, among others!
Just because Microsoft doesn't do things exactly like Sony, doesn't make them wrong, or right really. Just means they ...
Not sure why this is a surprise, Microsoft has over 20 first party studios and most have been quiet over the last few years, obviously gearing up for the next generation. We also know Black Tusk is working on a huge core AAA title!
I got an Atari 2600 in the late 80's, also had an NES obviously, but I have some great memories of Space Invaders and some Star Wars games on the 2600.
Sad to think that a lack of quality control over the games really killed that brand and the industry. Back then, anyone could make a game for the console and didn't have to pay Atari anything for it to be sold and on the console.
Things were so much simpler back then, even though I'm only in my l...
Congratulations to Microsoft! I've been on board since the 360's launch. Cannot wait to see what the next Xbox has in store for us all. When you consider that the original Xbox sold only 24 million, this is an incredible number. Also consider the market share that Microsoft currently holds, it is indeed impressive.
Actually Sony hasn't released any official numbers, so we don't know for sure. What we do know is that the original Xbox sold 24 million and the Xbox 360 has sold 76 million. Quite the increase in market share wouldn't you agree?
The Xbox 360 is also looking to overtake the Wii for #1 in North America, a place Sony dominated for two generations.
I think Dead Rising needs better characters and story telling elements for sure. They couldn't have done the same mall over and over again. Left 4 Dead was pretty good, but the second one was more of the same and I didn't spend nearly the time with it as I did with the first one.
Games need change from time to time, there is no game that is exactly the same as it was in 1995 as it is right now....none.
I personally hated the camera/controls/story of ...
The fact that you have so many agrees so fast, and the fact that this "Unnamed Microsoft insider" has so many Sony fans up in arms, who exactly is the insecure one?
Do you actually think Microsoft is upset with how this generation went for them? Microsoft and Nintendo both saw increases in console sales from the previous generation. The original Xbox sold 24 million and the Xbox 360 is at 76 million. The Gamebube sold 22 million and the Wii sits around 100 million s...
Your trolling kills me, you have very selective memory, either that or you work for Sony.
The next Xbox and the next PlayStation will probably be pretty equal in every aspect. Microsoft will most likely continue to do well in North America and Sony in Japan, EU could be up for grabs and should be close.
All we have right now are rumors, if we believe this rumor, should we believe the PS4 wont be backwards compatible ? or that it wont be able to play used gam...
It should be on an even level, glad to see Sony learn from one of their mistakes with the PS3. Now people who might only be able to buy the next PlayStation will be able to have the same offline experience as people who buy the game on the next Microsoft console.
I could see it working on the Wii U, I probably wouldn't buy it on that console because I like Achievements, but it would be nice to those that only own a Wii U.
I have a feeling a lot of studios are making an unannounced next generation game. These studios probably sign agreements not to mention the new consoles. I believe Watchdogs was a next gen game shown at last E3, and they weren't allowed to say exactly which consoles that game was for.
That is quite a bit of money, but these games are bigger than movies these days, some of these AAA titles need that much money, but in the end they recoup what they spent in less than a day.
Halo 4 cost over $200 million, but made more than that on the first day of sales. I think this is what hurts smaller developers because they try and compete and they really shouldn't.
Agree, I just wonder what the fanboys will have to argue about if the PS4/720 are relatively the same in power? I guess they will have to find something else to measure their manhood with.
The Wii U is technically "next gen", just like the original Wii was "next gen" when compared to the PS3/360. It is not the tech inside that makes a console next generation, it is simply the order or number of hardware that has been released.
I am enjoying the Wii U, if that had launched with the PS3/360 instead of the Wii, Nintendo wouldn't have won that generation. The Wii U will certainly be less powerful than the next Xbox and PlayStation, but it wo...
Really looking forward to actual information from the companies themselves. I refuse to buy into the whole "which is more powerful" arguments in the next generation. I fell into that trap a bit too much and in the end it didn't really matter because I felt like I received quality games from each of the console makers, some had different things going for them, but each were good in their own way.
I do find it funny that so many of these rumor articles are getting...
I liked RE6, and I liked RE5. I also really enjoyed RE4 more than any of the others in the series. I've never been scared by any game in the RE series, and I remember playing the original titles as a kid growing up. They were fun, even though they had terrible stories, controls and camera angles.
How many times can they stick you in a mansion and put you in the same situations as the first few RE games? Eventually you aren't going to be scared of those situations. I ...
It needs to be there for it to be a day one for me. I bought a Wii U and it is backwards compatible, this is good because I have close to 100 physical Wii games that I still play through. The next Xbox will also need to be backwards compatible for the same reason, same with the PSO. I only have so much space, I spent a ton of money on the games that I own and I don't like to get rid of them. Some games I still haven't even played yet!
Being able to put in a disk from ...
It is looking like the PS4 announcement and probably a Vita price cut as well. All the hype should send the Sony stock through the roof for a time.
We don't know for sure what Sony has in store as far as Orbis is concerned, but Microsoft has long been rumored to release the next Xbox in 2013, being that the Xbox 360 is the oldest hardware out right now, going on 8 years. Just because Sony might announce their next console first, doesn't mean they are releasing it first. They could be trying to use the old Sony tactic of trying to force people to hold off on buying the competition.
It looks to me like the next Xb...
Probably nothing, I was planning on getting at least a couple of those games this month, but with the probability of Sony and Microsoft releasing new consoles later this year, I'll have to save for that.
