Yes, but much of the success is less to do with consoles and more to do with sales on PC. Sony does not release games on PC so this should be made clear and the comparision highlighted with this information. The title above is misleading.

Why mention PSN at all. You Xbone fanboys can't help but compare anything and everything with the Playstation.

I hate to say it but you are deluding yourself. 'Uncharted 4' looks better than 'Rise of the Tomb Raider'.

Because at this moment Microsoft will take any victory over the PS4, even if it is just for a month, and then market the hell out of that news because it is so desperate to show that it is still competitive in the console market.

After the launch debacle, the failure of Kinect, heavyhitters like Titanfall and Forza failing to shift substantial numbers in 2013 and 2014, MS thought that with a strong showing at E3 and the sole presentation at Gamescom(Sony decided not to have a ...

Kimishima looks so unhappy in the picture above. Well, provided Nintendo actually deliver a console that besides being innovative is actually as powerful the PS4 at the very least, he will be smiling again! Nintendo have some great IPs and provided they get a decent release schedule for the first 18 months with say 6 Day one releases and then a game on a regular basis, they should be fine. There is a lot of goodwill for Nintendo out there, even after the debacle of WiiU but the NX project ...

I am sure Sony could have a go and come out with an enhanced Dualshock but clearly has not felt the need to! I wouldn't mind seeing what could be done considering how much one can do with the vanilla Dualshock 4.

Sorry mate, your so called "realistic view" appears selective. You really think a corporation like Sony is not going to learn from the past and issues they experienced on Move and Vita and invest so heavily in a new technology like PS VR and 'hope' it succeeds? Hardly.

Yes, the present tech is not perfect, far from it but if it is capable of giving the kind of experience that the writer of this article and many others have experienced, I am willing to fork...

I don't think the writer of this article could have played Bloodborne or some of the niche exclusives that Sony has had this gen because they far out do anything that MS has done so far. Also considering that many of the firat party studios of Sony were supporting the PS3 with new games right up to 2013, it is not unreasonable for most of them to be only releasing their first PS4 games in either late 2015 or mainly 2016. Also considering that many of their studios have second or third te...

Gosh...you really are the glass half empty kind aren't you? You expect the PS VR to fail but then you say "I don't expect Oculus to fail just as hard". Why? Because Oculus is not Sony or that you think the PS VR is not ready yet when compared to the Rift? By all accounts from all those who have tried and reviewed PS VR, the majority think pretty much like the writer of the article. You say "let VR come back when we have hardware capable of supporting it". Tec...

$399 would be an excellent price point. Anything less and quality may be sacrificed. I would say between $399 and $450 would be ideal. $499 would scare many.

I don't envy the person who is going to make the final decision!

You think...the fact is that the so called 'greatest line-up in Xbox history' is not having the effect that was hoped for. Every time someone like Greenberg makes these kind of statements all they do is draw attention to the desperation behind. Microsoft talks more about Sony than Sony does and there is always some kind of comparision and then chest beating.

Just a few months ago backwards compatibility was supposed to be the gamechanger and then the power of the cl...

'Titanfall' was touted as the one to pull the Xbone back into contention and yet it was given away free with the console in some markets on the day of release and heavily discounted in others. It appears a similar thing is happening again with 'Halo 5'. So what next? MS should just forget about competing or catching up with the PS4 and concentrate on itself. If there are enough decent exclusives, gamers will soon find the consoles for themselves. All PR guff and chest thu...

Just a fortnight or so ago, Phil Spencer stated that he had given up on trying to compete or catch up with the PS4 and that he was concentrating on giving Xbone and now Windows 10 users the best Xbox Live experience. It is clear that the PS4, at nearly 30m sold, is so far ahead that talk of remaining competitive is just PR guff and bears no relation to reality.

As for Xbox supporters forever going on about how the PS4 has no major exclusives this holiday, people do not buy...

My 50p allowance has just been dropped in my lap.
Konami can't be bothered with console games anymore - the thought that a wonderful property like Castlvania has had no decent games of late is maddening and I blame Konami for that!

It seems that despite so many people complaining about EA and the manner in which it likes to nickle-and-dime every aspect of gaming now, the reality is that gamers cannot get enough of FIFA, Madden NFL, the Battlefield franchises and now Star Wars. Is there any wonder then that Battlefield has gotten worse with each new release, FIFA and Madden titles have become annual releases with insubstantial improvements, and the campaign has been omitted from the forthcoming Star Wars Battlefront and...

Gran Turismo Sport sounds like a lot more than just Prologue and is perhaps a new title distinct from Gran Turismo 7 but with a view to a new release every two or three years in tandem with GT. Or maybe it is a one-off title, but in any case welcome all the same from Polyphony!

I have had my PS4 since Day One and thus far (touchwood!) it has been running as it should. I have also dropped my Dualshock controller at least 4 times in that time and it still works as it should. I guess some gamers will have had issues but that is the case with every new console release that a small percentage will have problems. When I purcahsed the PS3 (the fat 60gb) one, the disc eject would not work and I had to return it on the first day. The next one lasted me 5 years till it co...
