As a gamer who plays mostly on the PS4, I would rather Sony just focussed on delivering great exclusives, a service that is always improving and listening to gamers. I do not care about the PS4 knocking out such and such console as it is of little positive consequence. As gamers we need Sony to have viable competition as it is all to easy to become complacent if there isn't a benchmark to aspire to.
Agreed, it is now just silly and unnecessary. When I am enjoying a particular game, I never think "thank god the PS4 is in first place because this game is fun because of that" It is the games and gaming that should matter. This childish "mine is better than yours" serves no purpose.
Silly and unnecessary article. Firstly, there is no war only suits and fanboys who think there is. Secondly, you cannot compare consoles from different generations when considering sales as all sorts of factors come in to play. This gen is not even two years old and the best of each console has yet to come.
No one cares other than the media, and obsessive fanboys who seem to be only able to enjoy a console if it is doing better at something than the rival.
haha - "good at 'predicting' what just happened"
How embarassing - getting his Xbox prediction so wrong in light of what was going on at the time. How can he can keep a straight face?
No matter how big Bethesda are this time, 3 or 4 big games a year will inevitably mean poor quality control, buggy releases and customer dissatisafaction. The content of every game will suffer and they will become shorter as,again inevitably, ideas will be saved for the following release. A perfect example is Call of Duty before the brand became an annual release. The first two COD WWII games for the PC and the first couple of console releases were excellent games. Modern Warfare is consid...
Pachter has been mostly wrong about every analysis this gen. The only thing he has got right, and this is something a six year old could also predict, is how well the PS4 has been doing in the second year. Welcome to the party pal - just really late.
Nintendo has had a really bad year with the loss of Iwata but I am sure the company will rally and come out with a really good console. Perhaps the Quality of Life initiative will be re-launched after the release of the next...
That is why I said 'most'...!
Exactly...
Look at the response Sony to the original teaser way back in 2013.
The Uncharted brand is important, very important but it is only one IP. Unlike the GTA series which come out every 4 or 5 years, the first three Uncharted games came out in 2007, 2009 and 2011 and by the third instalment, some gamers were complaining that they wanted something new. The games have also been about one character, Nathan Drake and his pals and the adventures they got u...
Another day and another article on how Xbox will beat PS4. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Talk is cheap and Xbox and Xboners are doing a lot of it. Now the terms we hear daily are 'backwards compatibility', 'cross-play', 'Windows 10' - fine so just get on with it without telling us the same thing every day.
Xbox is what it is now precisely because gamers rejected what Microsoft had planned to introduce with the new console and preferred what the PS4 had to offer. The PS4 chose to focus on gaming and gamers foremost and everything else was secondary. The result is what we see now - well over 25 million consoles sold and still going strong. It is now the first choice for most gamers who want a console. Does this mean the Xbox is irrelevant - not at all. Most gamers appreciate the renewed emph...
Sony has been successful with the Playstation brand because it has always focussed on gaming and gamers first and has always charted its own path as opposed to reacting to a rival. The one time that Sony faltered was with the PS3 when it was used to introduce and win the HD disc war with Toshiba's HD DVD technology. However, Sony soon corrected the problem and the PS3 went on to be very successful. With the PS4 Sony has definitely cut out any excesses and focussed on giving developers ...
Nope, Microsoft have blown their wad for this year, it seems. All we now get are PR fluff from Spencer and Co saying "Look we do this which our competition does not...". Just today there is an article about cross-play and cross-buy, stuff that Sony has been doing for ages now but suddenly Microsoft and Kudo Tsunoda think they have invented. I like how Sony deals with all this bull - just quietly keep selling PS4s and let your product do the talking.
I like your meal-time analogy - weekends and holidays must be really hearty in your household - eat on!
We will have to differ in our opinions. I think the graphics upgrades are good and the only feature they have removed is the multiplayer but we are getting the UC4 Beta Multiplayer and the extra modes. Yes, we would all like more rather than less but as it is, the three games are definitely worth the purchase. I consider the remaster on of the best to date because in my opinion that is what it is, when compared with some of the other remasters, such as God of War 3, and Halo MCC. I am sure...
This remaster is turning out to be one of the best to date. With the additional difficulty and different modes added specially for this remaster and the the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Beta on top, this release will be bought by those many of us who already have the PS3 originals. If you have never played the Uncharted series, I envy you coming to it fresh as they are some of the best games ever made.
You are either not seeing what most of use are or you don't know what you are talking about...or both.
All we can do is wonder as neither Sony nor Microsoft would ever collaborate in such a manner.
"Ouye" is the sound they made when they, ahem, came.
I stand corrected on the Australian prices, thanks! As regards AAA, the PS4 has had 4 major AAA releases globally, one more coming later this month ('Until Dawn') and then a host of JRPGs like 'Disgaea 5', 'Persona 5', 'Dragon Quest Heroes...' as well as releases like ' Tomorrow's Children' and 'Rime' which may be considered indies but are big exclusives for the PS4. I am not even including 'The Uncharted Trilogy' and 'No Man...
As a PS4 gamer, I too resent bullshit like this. No brand has a built-in right to win every market it competes in and both Playstation and Xbox are better off having competition. Gamers would be worse off if one of these brands disappeared.
