Clearly Microsoft has not been interested in developing an Xbox VR solution as even after Project Morpheus was unveiled two years ago by Sony, there has been no change from Microsoft which has remained focussed on AR and Hololens, even though it is still VERY far from being ready to be sold to consumers at a reasonable price with useful applications. Even the hyped announcement of an Xbox controller being shipped with each Rift has no other consequence other than to let Xbox users watch mov...
A all-in bundle would be nice but not really necessary. Perhaps it is also better that Sony concentrate on a faultless release for the PSVR itself then worry about bundles at this time. The first customers for PSVR will be PS4 owners who already own the console and probably the camera and at least one Move Controller if not two. So for most PS4 owners the cost of PSVR is just $399/£349 and the cost of a Move Controller.
For those who do not have the camera and/or the c...
VR is not a 'gimmick' but a potentially game-changing technology that can change not only how we play games but also has applications with far reaching consequences in other fields such as medicine, film-making, architecture and so on. PS VR is the most accessible of all the major VR units announced over the last year by the virtue of the fact that it is a plug and play kit for use with the PS4 and therefore instantly available to over 40 million owners of the console.
@aiBreeze
Good to see that you do label yourself "opportunist" as well since you admit to ordering two kits.
I continue to be surprised by the greed that so-called gamers display instead of common decency towards others that when there is a limited supply, do not buy more than you need.
I hope that Sony release enough kits for all so that no one should have to pay inflated prices to "gouging opportunists"
Nope, I always have such morbid thoughts whenever a new console or tech is about to release... seriously, in this case, VR could be a game changer and I do not want to miss the beginning of what could be a new frontier.
I hope we all are healthy and happy come release day for PS VR!
Based on all the information and demos over the last 12 months, the answer to the above question is 'Yes'. However, will PS VR be successful as the PS4? This will depend on how it runs in real consumer use at home, and how many developers are supporting the tech. There is no doubt about the latter, at least initially, as Sony has already stated that over 150 games are currently in production across the board with 50 coming out this year alone.
With regard to the ...
Ordered on Amazon UK, two minutes before 11!
Now it will be a case of being impatient for October and hoping that I don't get run over by a bus before I have had a chance to enjoy PS VR!
@Cdn_Seahawks_Fan#4
So replace one grind for another? Hmm.
@DynoMiteLaserCat
Maybe he is constipated? Or maybe is can will himself to resist natural bodily requirements when engrossed in a game? We shall never know and neither do we want to know.
@MCTJim#4
You make a good point but for the fact that you yourself stated that you were playing the Fable Legends Beta and "loved it". Many gamers liked the beta bit even if it was no living up to expectations as you suggest, there had been plenty of time to change the direction the game was taking during the early stages of development. The game has been cancelled not too far away from release and after the manner it had been hyped, this is worrying.
@Overload
Agreed. In fact Fable Legends and Phantom Dust were really hyped when they were first announced. It is also worrying we have seen nothing of the single-player portion of 'Crackdown 3' or even more of the multiplayer aspect given that we are only months away from the release date.
I am beginning to feel that many games were announced by Microsoft on 2014 and 2015 in order to counter all the big announcements Sony were making at the time, at...
@LaWiiG
Maybe you yourself did not want this game but many Xbox One gamers were actually looking forward to this game since it was announced and talked it up no end on this very site. Now all of a sudden it was 'never wanted' since it has been cancelled just a few months from release. Reeks of double standards.
All three. Each of these three games is unique and promises new experiences and gameplay. Many PS4 owners have been waiting for 'No Man's Sky' for nearly two years now, ever since it was announced, and we all know what Media Molecule are capable of. As regards 'Wild', all I can say is that what I have seen to date in the trailers gives me every reason to believe that this will be a fantastic game. In addition to these three we have 'Horizon', 'Uncharted 4...
Sorry mate, but what you say is deluded. If Microsoft had won the console war, you would not be getting these regular big announcements of the 'next big thing'. Even backwards compatability on the Xbone did not slow down the sales of the PS4 and if anything, more people are buying the Sony console.
As for your comment about the best AAA games, this is subjective. Sony released 'Bloodborne' which in MY opinion is better than anything Microsoft has released. ...
Neither I expect. Naughty Dog are one of the the best studios at present if not the best, and their last four games have been excellent. No Man's Sky looks to be a unique experience and given the amount of support it has had from Sony, it is also likely to be an excellent game.
It is a pity that 'Uncharted 4' had to be delayed again and is now releasing in the same month as 'Doom 4' and 'Homefront' and 'Battleborn' rather than in March o...
Whilst I think that a game should be enjoyed by as many gamers as possible I do think that there is an issue here that is being disregarded by many. One of the strengths of,for example,the Playstation have been the many excellent exclusives that have been released by Sony's 1st party studios as well as 2nd party associates. Indeed, the success of the PS2, the rejuvenation of the PS3, and the runaway success of the PS4 can be directly attributed to the number and quality of exclusives th...
@Foxtrot
Your suggestion of retro is far preferable to this generic boxart! I was just looking at my original Doom boxes and they look so much better, maybe they should just use the same artwork - it would not look any worse than the design and artwork they have at present.
If Bethesda and ID have gone back to the roots of Doom as they say and have a game that gives us that same feeling of dread, panic and being overwhelmed like the first two Doom games did...
@FallenAngel1984
To be honest Sega hasn't fared too well or even better after bowing out of the console business as it has failed to convert the library of some great IPs to successful games for other consoles or the PC. Perhaps a new console is exactly what Sega needs, especially if they don't have to do it all by themselves but as a collaboration with the likes of Project Dream. Sega already has some great IPs which can be used to launch a new console and if it is ...
Not attending E3 is not necessarily smart, especially if the kind of business practices EA has been heavily criticized for recently continue regardless. If anything, considering that most gamers regard E3 as one of the most important shows where the biggest fortcoming games and gaming products are revealed each year, deciding not to attend may appear to be a petulant response to valid criticisms.
I suspect the withdrawal is a cost-cutting measure and I am sure they will be s...
Do not buy PSVR from ebay at these inflated prices. These greedy opportunists have denied real gamers the chance to buy the kit at a reasonable price and want to make money by doing nothing other than prey on a gamer's impatience to get into VR.
If no one bought stuff at these inflated prices these lot would be left with items they don't want or can't use and their money tied up in useless kit.
Sony has already stated that they will try and meet...
