Utter rubbish to think that Sony and people like Yoshida san would perpetrate fraud on such a scale and release hardware that was not designed to work with the PS4 as advertised. It may work better with the RUMOURED
Neo (and until Sony confirm it this is all it is) but to suggest that the PSVR was never going to work properly with the PS4 sounds far-fetched
So many people have already tried the PSVR on the existing PS4 and confirmed that it worked well. That alo...
The irony here is that if the game had an interesting premise, enough to make gamers want to play it if the gameplay was good enough. However, the game could not transcend the murky business practices of the various studios that owned the property at various points since 2011 that resulted in the IP going from THQ to Crytek then to Crytek with Deep Silver then to finally sold of to Koch Media, the parent company of Deep Silver with the game being finished by Dambusters.
I have never ever played a game before where I have stopped to just admire the visuals. I was going into 'Photo-mode' every few minutes to take a shot of a spectacular vista or an action sequence!
The game that has come closest to 'Uncharted 4' in having some really lovely visuals but is still so far behind is 'Infamous-Second Son' from 2014 where some of the day-night shots of Seattle were just stunning.
I am in the middle of m...
It is up to gamers to decide whether they will pay full price for a game that should never have been made a timed exclusive, withheld from the console that has best supported the franchise. I see no reason to buy a year old game at full price and will happily wait an additional 3 to 6 months beyond November 2016 in order to pay the minimum I can. They made PS4 gamers wait a year, what is another few months?
Microsoft wanted an 'Uncharted' style game but did not w...
Yes, absolutely!
The manner in which UC4 ended has left the door open and anyone who has finished the game through the first playthrough will recognize the two most obvious people who should be in the next game . In the absence of Naughty Dog, I would suggest Sony Bend or even Sucker Punch to take over the franchise for Sony with assistance from ND.
UC4 has refreshed the Uncharted franchise and pushed the franchise to a whole new level. I was genuinel...
@Immorals
"Plus MS has a history of advertising 3rd party deals better than Sony." Right, like the piss poor marketing done by Microsoft for 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' last year which was also released on the same day as 'Fallout 4'.
Pity the devs did not put greater effort into making a better game in the first place.
@sullynathan
Sorry mate but the absence of a single player campaign was because they thought they could get away with it and they did because people like you will buy a game that offers the same kind of MP gameplay that every other shooter does these days.
The truth of the matter is that companies like EA have been slowly degrading the games industry, taking it from developer led creativity to a point where gaming is designed to create profit centres where the least amount of content generates the maximum amount of profit. The new 'Battlefront' was a perfect example of this strategy and the reason it works is because gamers do not hold these companies accountable but instead fall for the hype and buy hobbled games. 'Battlefront 2&...
Joshua has defended the silly review his colleague did of Uncharted 4 and now here he is deriding the UC4 MP:
"There is barely any expansion on the core fundamentals of Uncharted 3"
"The hook rarely feels useful and its addition has been woefully implemented, with it frequently breaking the perfect visuals when in use."
(Traversal) "...feels forced, clunky and completely unnecessary."
Each of the above state...
I think UC4 and UC2 are about equal - the story of UC4 is better told and the combat and platforming has improved but UC2 had better pacing, stand out set pieces and better puzzles. Where UC4 totally outdoes Among Thieves is the visuals and it feels more open yielding multiple solutions to a given situation.
If I were asked to pick one Uncharted game, it would have to be Uncharted 4 as it has benefited from Naughty Dog's experience of the first trilogy and The Last Of...
I know that you are not being serious as soon as you said UC4's MP is awful. Yeah, keep deluding yourself.
@Acetrologer
I actually said "Clearly the writer is no fan of the game" and one can actually like a type of game or a particular franchise and still make valid and informed points in a review of the game that go a long way towards giving us an accurate picture of the game. In fact, I will go so far as to say that a reviewer should actually like a particular type of game in order to be able to accurately assess it and should have some skill at playing that type of...
Sorry Joshua, but spinning about what Mike has written only shows that your site has an agenda with this review. No one expects a fan gushing about the game as a review but Mike behaves as though he is the smartest in the room and he alone knows what works and what doesn't. You also contradict yourself in your patronizing reply to me where you say "Finally with regard to sequels... you said it yourself. A sequel is supposed to replicate what gamers like about a series and improve i...
Gosh! Where to start with this so called opinion piece masquerading as a review. Clearly the writer is no fan of the game and finds issues with the game that most Uncharted fans will consider silly and petty. The writer does not even know that Neil Druckmann was one of the principals of Uncharted 2, the game which is considered the best of the initial trilogy. The writer appears to have less than average skill at the game and blames the game instead of his abilities.

There are a lot of fanboys here who are angry at the response Microsoft is getting with yet another cancellation but the truth is that most of the criticism is justified. Just look at the list of cancellations or games that have performed poorly saleswise:
Project Spark, Fable Legends, Phantom Dust, Lionhead, Halo 5, Halo MCC released broken, Forza Horizon, Sunset Overdrive, Titanfall and even their only major release of 2016, Quantum Break. Rise of the Tomb Raider, fro...
'Uncharted 4' is in another league all by itself. 'Quantum Break' is a good game that deserved no more than 7 out of 10. Unnecessary TV episodes that little to further the gameplay, repetitive gameplay, mediocre story. The game that is closest to QB is 'The Order 1886' and neither should even be mentioned as comparable to 'Uncharted 4'. The fact that Quantum Break had scores like 9 is a travesty and implies it is the same quality range as 'Uncharted 4...
Cannot take the writer of this article seriously. Poor reasons given as justifications and displays no understanding of the Uncharted games. I suspect the writer is probably an Xbox One owner as I don't think any self-respecting PS4 gamer would even come up with such thin reasons to dislike a game.
At this rate, this year is going to be hard on people like this writer as there is going to be game after game being released on the PS4 over the next 7 months.
The day streaming gives an equal experience for everyone on this planet is decades away and corporations being what they are - in bed for a profit only, they are not going to cut off any other income streams that give profits such as disc based gaming in areas where internet access is poor or inadequate.
To be honest, even in the UK in 2016 only a minority of gamers have the kind of internet access that could adequately cope with streaming and many of these gamers prefer di...
This is too good a franchise to leave aside after just three major games. 'Infamous' may have been overshadowed by 'Uncharted' but core Playstation gamers love 'Infamous' and the 'good' vs. evil' moral choices that were especially significant in the first two games with Cole McGrath. The 'Festival of Blood' dlc was just brilliant and in some ways 'Second Son' was a step back even though technically the last game was a marvel. Even 2 years...
