The Headline should read 'Microsoft's new Xbox plan is underway, Sony CHOOSES NOT to counter'

The writer says first that "Sony will need a console this year to truly show what VR is capable of or risk endangering its chances of coming out on top with PSVR" but then suggests that this is exactly what will happen as he considers the PS4 cannot support the PSVR. Does the writer seriously think that Sony, a company that has built a reputation on excelle...

Always something to criticize Sony for....so it is okay for Microsoft to release games a long time after they were announced but not for Sony? Take a look:

Quantum Break - announced in E3 2013 delayed until finally released Q1 2016
Phantom Dust - announced E3 2013, in development limbo at present
Fable Legends - announced August 2013 and cancelled March 2016, just before release
Gears of War 4 - announced as in development as early as January 201...

@Foxtrot

I think you are right but I suspect that the boy will be the catalyst for Kratos to then want to take on the Norse gods.

Bryan Intihar, Creative Director at Insomniac confirmed the following yesterday: Sony Interactive Entertainment approached Insomniac with the opportunity to create a Spider-Man console game The footage shown was all in-game, the game is a collaboration between Sony and Marvel and is exclusive to PS4.

Right so like Microsoft has only had one exclusive so far while Sony has had 5 in the first 6 months Other major titles yet to release are No Man's Sky, The Last Guardian, several JRPGS, Tomorrow's Children, and on and on. So even if Microsoft releases 4 or 5 exclusives in the Autumn, hardly comparable with Sony.

Microsoft announced games in 2014 and 2015 that are STILL NOT here (Crackdown 3, Phantom Dust, Fable (oops, cancelled!), Scalebound delayed, Recore was d...

Sorry mate but you are delusional:

Games: Sony
Hardware: Sony due to the fact that Project Scorpio is not due for 18 months and Neo may well be better.
Accs: Xbox (I am being generous)
Services: Xbox (I am being generous)
Exclusives: Sony (fact)
Indie: Sony (Sony has more indie devs and more indie games released on the PS4 - fact)

There, see - SONY ALL THE WAY!

I would say Sony's presentation at E3 this year was second to the presentation last year as it is impossible to match the reveals of FF7 Remake, Shenmue 3, and The Last Guardian which were ALL in just one show. But Sony came close, as close as was possible with God Of War, Spiderman and Kojima San!

The best conference of E3 so far and I doubt it will be topped. Sony focussed just on the games for the PS4 and PSVR and sent a message to competitors. It doesn't ma...

Yup, Sony just knocked it out of the park. They focussed just on the games and left the hardware OUT! This conference was almost as good as last year's (I honestly think nothing can compare with the return of The Last Guardian, Shenmue and FF7, all in one show).

THE PSVR continues to get games that are worth buying and playing and I can only imagine what Sony has in store for us with regard to the hardware when they actually do announce Project NEO.

God of War is back! The gameplay looks awesome and it is clearly a game that has been in production for a while. I suspect this is a 2017 release but even now it looks polished!

Sony was just the best this year at E3. Oh my god! The games and Spider-Man and....Kojima and ...on and on. A Knockout and then some!

@Docknoss

"...Scorpio is going to be the most powerful console this generation" The Scorpio is still 18 months away and Sony has yet to announce the specs for the NEO.

Sony is the company that has always had released different versions of each console as each generation matures. It is Microsoft that is copying the Sony strategy now. Even the possibility of NEO was announced well before Microsoft came up with Project Scorpio. Sony have been ...

As usual, Microsoft try and cover all bases and effectively kill them all. By Announcing project Scorpio 18 months in advance of the earliest release date, Microsoft killed the XBox One S OUT OF THE GATE! Why would anyone sane buy the original One or the One S when the most powerful Xbox is yet to arrive and when all the games are also playable on PC and Windows 10? Added to this Project Scorpio will have little effect on the console race when it is MORE THAN LIKELY that Sony will ensure t...

Sorry mate, but if Microsoft can come up with Scorpio, do you really think that Sony, a company that has real experience of building sterling gaming consoles cannot come up with an equally good console? Why do you think Sony has still not announced Neo officially? Because they wanted to see what MS had to offer and they will just up the stakes. They floated out the idea of Neo, let Microsoft bite and then said that Neo will not be at E3. Added to all this is the fact that Sony will alway...

Stupid article! - Microsoft is following THE SAME STRATEGY as Sony and focussing on the Rift as the VR technology of choice for now. What Sony is doing is labelled divisive and alienating so it follows Microsoft is also divisive and alienating gamers. Sorry,but the bias is so obvious here that it gets in the way of any meaningful discussion.

Sorry, but I beg to differ. You may well be correct in saying that YOU are disappointed in this current generation but I and my friends are certainly not. We all own the PS4 and a few of us including me also own the Xbox One and we all are more than satisfied with the amount of gaming we do on the PS4. Do we want more exclusives on the PS4? Of course, we do but then we would not be satisfied if there was one release every month on the console because games are what gamers want - always. ...

The numbers are fake... a more accurate figure is under 4 million and even then it is a generous estimate. As others note below, if the 5 m figure was indeed true, Microsoft would have been shouting about it on every website but they haven't.

I suspect this will be a repeat experience like that for 'Watch Dogs' the game will be significantly less on all fronts when actually released. They can fool us once but if they do it twice, we deserve it. Wait for the release and the genuine reviews and then decide!

Hmm. Sounds odd considering they have had success with their present strategy, I remember another famous developer that was developing only for the Playstation and to some acclaim I might add and stated that they wanted to bring their games to a larger audience - and then promptly went Xbox exclusive. The studio? Insomniac. Their next game was 'Sunset Overdrive' which is not available for the most popular console this generation. So much for bringing games to 'wider audiences&...

What was the point of this article? If it was to honour Mr. Druckmann, then surely it can do that without all this 'deal with the devil' flavouring. The writer likes the Uncharted series so much but then lists over 17 problems which are all subjective by the way and may well be listed as strengths by anyone else and then goes on to suggest that Uncharted 4 was Druckmann putting right all the negatives the writer has listed. Neil and his colleague Bruce and their team were obviousl...
