And this is not directed at either console, mind you, but simply at the notion that there was not a unified technology for hi-def dvds.
That is not a feature you want in a laptop.
Jin Kazama almost seems to be...gloating?
Can that be right?
Perhaps Mr. Kazama should get his head checked. Mr. Kazama seems to have forgotten that game consoles are meant to play games. The 360 does this at a lower price point than the PS3.
Mr. Kazama seems enamored of the 1080P games and movies he has never seen. You know, on the tv he doesn't have...well, let's be fair...the tv no one has.
All about choice, Mr. Kazama. Your G...
Because non-positive posts really upset these guys!
Generally speaking the Xbox crowd are just trying to correct a point (mistake) made about the spe's. The Xbox people are providing you with the correct info. There were supposed to be eight. Because of low yields, 7 became the target. And one spe is specifically reserved for the OS at all times.
So at present there are six spe's for game processing. It's not meant to be an attack on the console, it's the tr...
Oh, that was funny. Someone submitted a news article about something he heard from a "store employee" who said he heard it from a "MS rep"...
...ow! It hurts to laugh!
And on top of that the news is completely pointless. The 360 doesn't use the hd-dvd for games, it never will. Why are Sony people so desperate to compare the two systems as though the 360 needed the hd-dvd drive?
Oh, yeah...because of the ps3's amazingly high ...
C'mon, no one else thought that was funny? It was a perfect example of gamers taking themselves too seriously...did no one else appreciate the irony?
Some of the people posting at the 1up forum are asking her to tender her resignation, or be fired...because she wants to buy a console for her home and it isn't the PS3.
People are so weird.
Now there's an interesting problem...how do you keep multiple consoles? The wii is no problem, it's tiny. But the 360 and the ps3? Normally I'd stack them...but you can't put the 360 on top because the ps3 is curved, and you can't put the ps3 on top because it's larger and may cut off the vents ot the 360.
And vertically...well, 13 inches requires a lot of space too. I'll be honest, I just don't have the room for it.
I'd already concluded I would buy the Wii next, and then later I would consider the PS3, but now I'm looking at the space constraints. No problem with the Wii, of course, but the PS3 is problematic. Normally I would stack them, but it's larger than the 360 and may cut off the air vents. At the same time you can't stack on top of the PS3, because it's curved.
Sony has stated that all games for the ps3 will be produced on blu-ray. Makes sense, as they make more money off of blu-ray that way. It's a shame, because games will likely cost more.
Why it was all curved out...it makes it look wobbly to me, but I'm more concerned about heat dissipation. With curves you're reducing the space on the inside, making it more susceptible to overheating. And I'm not seeing a lot of venting. Are they using a power brick as well?
Every week, more and more Japanese gamers are being introduced to the 360. I'll take the message as a positive one. After all, yes, it's only 1,400 gamers...but it's 1,400 new gamers. And that's one week.
This article has nothing to do with which console is better, it just says people have different personality traits according to their choice of console.
why this doesn't bother Sony's faithful followers. MS fans certainly got up in arms when Moore alluded to backwards compatibility being discontinued. What does it take, Sony fan?
I don't have to buy the damn thing. I don't want a hi-def dvd player. It's expensive, it won't be very apparent of a difference on my tv only very large tv's notice the difference, as explained over at cnet.
I have a question for PS3 people though. I've read that when blu-ray or hd-dvd loads up movies, that it takes up to a minute before you get to watch it. Will that be true of games as well?
Is a great set of wireless headphones that I can also use on Live.
Marketing is not lying. You may put a hot chick next to a Porsche, but you're not selling a hot chick.
Sony is selling a blu-ray player, and telling you movies are available for it, when they're not. You say 100 movies available, they'd better be available.
I already have a console I enjoy, every day now for a year...while you're still sitting and waiting. Why would I drop another 600 for a blu-ray player I don't want, and a game lineup I don't feel is worth the additional 600 dollar investment? You people accusing me of being a fanboy don't have a leg to stand on here. Your console isn't out yet, your games aren't out yet. I'm supposed to hop in line with 600+ in hand for what? I already have a great game console, I don't feel it necessary...
I'm not being a hypocrite here. When you're talking about the ps2 and Xbox having a dvd player, that was (is) the accepted medium for games and movies.
Blu-Ray is different. First, it's expensive. Second it's untested...current players are exhibiting incredibly long load times and that's for both Blu-Ray and Hd-dvd. Third, it's not a decisive format. Two different format on the market.
And that's just the Blu-Ray aspect of the argument. The other side of my...
This is one of those games I am forcing, by strength of will, to become a great game. A game with Norse mythology, coupled with futuristic technology, and it ends up somehow sucking? I will not allow such a thing to occur. Better it fall back into the void, like Duke Nukem, than be released in a crappy version.
