It's investors. And Sony was asked about it, they refused to comment.
Maybe Sony would be better off postponing until Feb/March. That way they'd have more consoles ready, and more games.
And what I mean by that is that they're not infatuated with a product, they're looking at the business model. Being downgraded just prior to your release is probably not a good sign.
Specifically noting the difficulty Sony is having in getting certain components (deja vu, deja vu!.

TGS comes before X06, so MS will have a little time to see what everyone else put on the table. X06 is really the last blast of the year before Christmas, so expect MS to pull out all the stops.

Someone posting over at Gamespot was asking whether disc was carrying all regions. I remember this being listed as a benefit of the Blu-Ray by someone at Sony before E3, so maybe that's the case here.

So what this article is saying is that games for the ps3 are now barely fitting onto the blu-ray? Games for the ps3 are now ten times larger than pc games have ever been...and this is just the beginning?
Amazing how all of those old fogey developers over at MS were so completely off base as to the future of game size. What would MS know about gaming anyway?
Because I believe the opposite will happen. Gamer will walk into store, and will see one console readily available. He will see cool games on console that is readily available. He will walk out of store with a game console, instead of walking out of store with a "Wait until March" t-shirt.
It's a Sony rep in response to the Gamespot interview...to 1up.com?!? Gamespot hasn't reported anything yet.
And even more interesting to me, having to correct your boss is no small thing, but for your boss to be off by that many units? What is it with Sony and numbers these days? Remember the # of Blu-Ray movies to be released thing just a week or two ago?

I'm not worried abou this for the 360. Blu-Ray and hd-dvd are for movies, except Sony is requiring all games to be on Blu-Ray.
Let's see what games actually will require Blu-Ray, and why. Then we'll see whether MS is missing out.
This is MS's big issue, they need a more family friendly console. Little kids have nothing to play. And while I think Viva Pinata looks good, it is one game.
I'll be honest, I still like the Live interface better. I'm not getting a community feel from that setup. And the internet browsing feature freaks me out, what with viruses, cookies, pop ups....Sony is trying to do too much with a system I would want as a game console.
They're hoping to have 2 million units by the end of 2006. If they started in Spetember and they could do a million a month, that's 4 milion units. Kaz says two million, guess what? It's two million.
I don't know where you're getting the million/month thing, but it isn't from Kaz.
It will be exactly the same situation as MS last year, only worse. I foresee less inventory than MS had, and wehat makes it so bad is Sony had a year to plan, and they haven't even started production. The question is why didn't production start earlier? This was originally supposed to release Spring '06, remember?
I like the smoke background in that, and it does look better with actual content.
That earlier video, they had no background, and no content to show. Oh, and they were boring. So that sucked.
