Completley agree with points 1-4, safe bets really. Dislike the idea of point 5 though, it should be going the other way of free multiplayer for all (and then the £40 premium for those who want to pay to get their 'free' games, xbox video etc..)

XBL services will be free on PC, as it should be.

I like the Xbox, but really it's PR smoke used to confuse the customer (by all parites MS, AMD, NVIDIA).

The terminology is worded very carefully.

Xbox supports DX12, built with DX12 in mind etc.. this is all technically true, what you wont see written is that the Xbox (or any of these current graphics cards) are fully DX12 COMPLIENT.

In layman terms this means the Xbox (and modern GFX cards) will be able to run DX12 and gain improvements...

DX12 was out on July 31st, ARK Survival Evolved is getting a DX12 mode this week (suspiciously delayed at the very same time as this async compute revelation, the devs stated they require some unforeseen driver tweaks from AMD and NVIDIA).

Although yea, 2 years sounds about right for wide-scale adoption, hopefully it'll be quicker though when you've people like Johan Andersson (DICE) wanting to require DX12 as the min-spec for holiday 2016 titles.

To be fair I don't recall any predictions suggesting that console, PC and mobile would all see growth year on year. Yet here we are.

Who knew more people would become gamers, and gamers would play on multiple devices :)

*EDIT* That was meant for OP.

Big fan of the Forza franchise.

Look forward to turning off all assists and testing my limits again on Forza 6, such a technically hard game with no stabilisers.

Really feels special when each car handles differently, with it's own complete subset of modifications.

I love trying to top leaderboards on a certain race, shaving off 0.1s each lap, tweaking the tune, learning every little nuance to each corner into the other etc..

You've provided no evidence to back up your claims, the 2013 garner report which you hold in such high regard didn't include PC hardware, subscriptions, DLC or F2P revenue but it conveniently uses the entire console market for it's projection.

You actually think it's unbiased, representative and fair to pit the whole console market against PC game sales only?

'mobile market it's way bigger than pc'

Yea check the GAMING market, PC generates more money than mobiles in the GAMING marketplace.

Ok CBaoth I get it, you don't trust JPR, lets try a top Google result for "Global Gaming Revenue"

http://www.newzoo.com/insig...

In 2015 Consoles $25.1B, PCs $33.7B.

The same company shows 2014 data (released May 2015) with projections to 2018:

An inconvenient truth around here.

PC gaming hardware generates double that of all the consoles combined:

They actually sold for more than the manufacturing cost on release day, although that still means they sold at a loss for obvious reasons.

I don't know just how much they make through all the other content and Gold, I just know personally I've gave them well over £1000 through their ecosystem since...

You know, the same way consoles have always generated the bulk of their revenue.

Yea you're spot on the mobile phone market being much larger then the PC market, although it's my understanding it doesn't generate more gaming revenue due to the lower cost associated with the games (i.e. $1 games as opposed to Console/PCs typical $40-60).

"Dude, im talking of consoles."

"Some gamers still dont understand that this gen gamers already decided wich is the number one game machine."

Then re-word your statement to number one games console, PCs are gaming machines too. I made that very clear the first time.

@CD1 - 3813d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

Objectively PC is the number one platform for gaming with a 900 million strong userbase that generates more revenue than all of the consoles combined.

I hope you remember this fact the next time you try to claim what is the 'number one game machine'.

No way, the i7 destroys AMDs best CPUs. DX12 allows for better multi-core utilisation, so AMD will benefit a lot, but so will Intels multi-core i7s (as they still have superior performance per core).

Just to show you how wide the gap is, your new i7 5820k isn't listed on this (it would sit higher than the Core i7 4790K CPU). As you will see your CPU is superior over the very best CPU AMD has to offer:

"a game’s draw calls are not its only bottleneck under DX12. Both 3D Mark’s DX12 benchmark and Ashes of Singularity use a lot of draw calls. However, a game may hit a Geometry or Rasterizer Operator bottleneck, in which case an NVIDIA GPU will outperform an AMD GPU."

It's a bit soon to claim AMD victory due to those cards being able to handle more draw calls under DX12.

Oh my, this really is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever read.

Hey guys did you know you could control a computer (aka streaming) over a wide area network (aka the internet) since it was invented in the 1960s?

TEAMVIEWER has been allowing remote contol on PCs since 2009.

I was able to steam my PC over the internet in 1997 (albeit at 1fps) using a static IP address and third party software.

PC is not an abstract term, it specifically refers to a general purpose computer operated directly by an end-user.

You'd like to see a PC that can match a console at the same price, which should be possible, but irrelevant to which platfrom is best way to play a game on.

The only comparision is the highest end rig possible against the console (on a well optimised game for both platforms) to see which platform performs better... and of course in that insta...

That's actually an extremely good point that I never even considered. On MP the servers will facilitate everyone playing whereas SP would require all those servers for the single user thus increasing Azure resource usage exponentially.

To think I believed they done SP offline to cater for those who needed the offline experience, preventiing an outroar from the community.. when the truth is it's probably much more to do with your point. That was a successful PR play ...
