Software will always be cracked, PC game piracy is going away due to steam (easy to use platfrom) and multiplayer gaming (can't join the full player-base on cracked games).
Valve doesn't get enough credit for single handedly bringing PC gaming back into legitimacy in the eyes of developers, and then the media. It also amazes me when people talk about the 'best developers' they rarely consider Valve, when they're the only company to put it all on the lin...
On console it sure is, the game looks beautiful... PC is vastly superior objectively, although outputting those visuals on a <2TFLOPs console is extermely impressive even if it is 'linear'. Thinking of buying a PS4 for this one!

I don't get it. The XBO version is 720p, so the average PC resolution of 1080p is better... also 60-144FPS makes a huge difference.
I'll probably get it on XBO as I can't tell if my PCs will run it smoothy, aka bad port.

The massive gains coming with DX12 are mainly on older AMD hardware (PC), especially on the cheap AMD CPUs... this will make PCs that cost the same as a console run by order of magnitudes better (at the moment performance at that price point is similar).

DX11.X is DX12, XBO has always had it. Async compute gives the main boost on compatible hardware... PS4 has always had this too!
DX12 is huge for PC gaming, cheap AMD CPUs and GPUs recieve massive boosts in performance.

Wouldn't they be better buying a gaming PC, MS is intergrating Xbox Live heavily into Windows, with cross-buying and cross-playing games incoming. It's plainly obvious to me it's a much wiser option for the 'Xbox One Only' gamer.
That said, if someone could only afford one console and asks me which to buy, I'd suggest PS4.

Maybe if you stuck with the truth you touched on, the consoles struggle to maintain a solid 60fps (causing stuttering, rubber-banding and screen tearing) so it would be preferable to have a stable 30fps... as that provides a better expereince than an unstable 60fps.

I thought it ran bad on PC until I played on XBOX, evidently the PC version runs like gold in comparision... 60fps with dips into 20fps (1080p and nice graphics to boot) doesn't seem so bad up after playing 20fps with dips to 0 fps.
