You need to pay 60usd for both the PS3 and Xbox, PC version can be had much cheape and thats relevant for just about any game.
I currently have BF3 preordered for 40usd ;-) try beating that price on any console.
good news but PC gamers wont be buying rehashes.
@Nathan
So do you think devs like Naughtydog, GG and the rest of the Sony developers are stupid? I know you PS3 fans discredit and call rest of the developers subpar anyways.
Or maybe its because its a business strategy tha consolegamers arent really aware of mods and will pay for maps packs, skins etc so may make them pay.
Thank Valve who are still primarily a PC dev. They still belive in user created mods as that enhances game play.
The only reason why you dont see more modding on consoles is because console devs dont like the idea of mods replacing DLC, see the link there? Mods give the oppotunity to extend the life of a game. If a game like COD which has been consolized now supported mods we would easily be able to mod the stuff they release as yearly rehashes. But naa since its on console...
Lol can you actually look around in GOW does it allow you different angles? no it doesnt.
Its a game with static environments where only the main character looks good everything else is sub par. That too its running at 30fps nothing spectacular. Naming GOW3 as a benchmark game to highlight a systems power is fail, in fact it should be avoided.
Now Killzone 2 and 3 i dont see whats so great about them, they have muddy textures and are again strictly corrid...
Crysis 2 never had the throne to begin with, unless they mean consoles.
The graphics throne currently is shared by Crysis 1, Metro 2033 or Arma 2 operation.

Dude the ancient Pentium 4 ran close to 4GHZ, there was even a dual core model. you cant really compare processor performance based on MHZ alone.
The pentium 4 would get raped by an I7 running even at 2.4ghz single core. So its not about the MHZ.
Also the memory bandwidth of the GPUs on this consoles is about 25gb/s
Any mid range GPU(which costs 100usd) on the PC today has over 100gb/s memory bandwidth. Now that is a huge difference.
Cant expect much from 6yr old hardware. Console gamers should be thankful the games even appearing on console.
@Sitris
Where does it say PS3 software sales 7 times that of Steam?
That would put PS3 software sales at 7billion usd. I read the entire article i wonder where you are pulling that figure from.
Lastly Its not just Steam thats PC gaming. Add in the MMO market. Wow alone revenues at 1billion usd a year.
PC gaming sales are on the increase yet you say its going downhill.
Console gaming sales on the other hand have taken a nose dive do you feel that is doing well?
@below
Have you not seen the sales from Steam alone last year:
http://fadellc.com/Press.ht...
Steam was estimated near a billion usd, which is a lot of sales for a digital platform, ad...
@Intel
It may not be dieing however i refuse to buy another upgrade until i see games actually taking advantage of hardware. No point upgrading to play console ports, which play very well on 4-5yr old hardware.
"So people are stupid for not wanting to pay more and not wanting bother with upgrades ect for pc gaming and are lazy as well."
People actually end up spending more on console because games are more costly. Hence the cost argument is clearly in favor of the PC. Anyone cliaming consoles are cheaper is clearly deluded.
Nintendo games actually run in 1080p emulated on PC. Now before someone screams piracy. You can always buy the software then use it.
"based on the title I can really only think of 1 reason...
PC's are modular. That right there should be the single most important reason for a PC to be better than a console.
The closed nature of a console offers many advantages but you cant really expand on its capabilities as time progresses. There is always a trade off each new gen with PC and console."
Agreed PC gaming gets better over time, while consoles are stuck to what the...
@Henry
Agreed it had memory leaks and the game would crash after 30mins of play or randomly any time basically, however that was fixed few months after launch.
I been gaming on PC since 1995. The reason why i mentioned GTA 4 had too many options is because of the distance settings it had. Setting a viewing distance too far didnt effect gameplay experience much however it did kill performance. Hence for the casual user it required too much work to study wh...
Well to be fair GTA 4 on PC came with too many options. If people tried to max everything out sure they would end up getting horrible FPS. People only needed to test certain settings. I found the shadows had a drastic impact on performance while not really doing much for visuals so i turned the shadows down a bit and the game ran liquid smooth.
We know we know, no developer cared about the PS3 and games were poorly optimized, they still are. Cry me a river, it was Sonys fault for being ignorant.
Specially to top it off with words like "they can get 2 jobs" lol
Go 7800gtx go go go lol doing sub 540p shouldnt be too hard.
Thats because DA 2 sold very badly, people didnt like the game so the price fell. The game was rushed due to pressure from EA.
Usually games dont fall in price on console.
Edit: Dragon age 2 is still at 55usd for consoles on amazon, so i dont know where you are getting 50% price. i can currently pick up the PC version for 30usd though.
