@Uken12...Funny that you doubt what Sony has in store when just last year they killed E3 and still held out heavy hitters like TLOU 2 for PSX. Add to this that devs praised them for having PSX for the ability to not have to "rush" something for E3 to get onstage.
I think a couple things are in play. First, as Xfiles stated, E3 is not purely gamer focused. It's an industry trade event for business execs, media, and consumers. So, while it is important, Sony is in a pret...

There's definitely a trend that attempts to use slower "love" songs in a somewhat ironic, discordant way. It's kind of a throwback to the juxtaposition of explosions and violence backed by slow, classical music. But, this works in a different way...at least on a psychological level. Rock, dubstep, trap, and hip-hop all conjure the hype. This attempts to make a connection. It's not only games and movies. It's also commercials. I'm sure there's some marketing p...

This is what many people miss. E3 is not just for consumers. Companies have to walk the line of providing instant gratification for consumers, while providing a vision for the future for the business side. Plus, with the constant media access, core gamers know what's coming immediately. They've seen countless videos, interviews, and articles. What beings the excitement is the new IP reveals. Now, updates from previously revealed IP are great. But, nothing gets the juices flowing (or t...

While I can't say for certain that was the nail in the coffin, the adult films industry certainly used to contribute to the uptake of new visual media. It helped VHS, DVD, Bluray, and now it's pushing higher quality/rated streaming tech. (along with "traditional" streaming like Twitch, Ustream, YouTube, etc.)

@Moldy...in the Playstation stable, it's actually the PS4 that's the oddity. Every other Playstation has has 2 things. One is a new format to push. Two is a newly engineered chipset.
As for your original Xbox argument, it offered more power and online access....but it did this at the end of the most successful run for a console to date. It's kinda hard to be the life of the party when the lights are on, everybody is leaving, and the dj is packing up.
Sony took n...

While I agree that this would be cool, you said this as if it were kind of casual decisions. 😂 Release dates and price drops are easy. A handheld? That would be a pretty significant announcement.
IMO, the momentum is clearly with Sony. They have a huge roster of games still to be released. We KNOW they will announce new ones. The Pro has done well for what it was intended to do (bridge the gap to 4K). VR is still growing as a medium and they have both feet squarely in the doo...

So, you identify with Christian extremist cults? That's who this is. If not, it shouldn't be an issue. They aren't any more Christian than a pagan at a virgin sacrifice.
In the games that we kill Muslims, it is assumed and often highlighted that they are terrorists. We see the atrocities, or at very lesst their results. So, it's easy to paint them as the bad guys. In this game, it seems, we will do the same thing. We will see the results of an extremist cult that war...

IMO, this isn't some "shot" at conservatives and Christianity as much as it is a counter to the idea that fundamentalists and extremists are representative of the whole. Many people accept that as truth with Islam. They conflate the many heinous acts perpetrated by a slew of extreme individuals as the aim of the religion. When the majority of that religion are simply trying to live in peace.
Ubisoft is simply challenging a developing narrative about extremists and judg...

So far the community has gotten to it. The crux of most of the "wrong" arguments IS that they disagree. (that's for all consoles) All in all, if you produce an outlier of a review, don't expect the people to except it as a norm. I'd rather the author say, "I don't like this game because...". I can't disagree that he or she doesn't like the game. But, I can argue the reasons why. This doesn't make either one of us more right or wrong. It makes fo...

You are missing a couple HUGE caveats in your anti-sjw tirade. First, blacks can't shove anything down "our" throats. Media and movies are NOT controlled by blacks, for the most part, AND you have the choice to consume said media and movies. Blaiming black people for his use of the word is myopic at best and historically ignorant at worst.
Second, most often the word is used in context with situations. Culturally, there has been an attempt to reclaim and assuage the wor...

There's some revisionist history in your recounting of NBA events. Even then, how can you begin to compare 3 different positions and 2-3 different eras of basketball?
At any rate, your answers about LeBron are summed up in the fact that the team and it's offense are literally built to compliment him. Take him out, and the team struggles. That doesn't mean that LeBron isn't great. It means that the Cavs are tied to him for success.
MJ isn't just considered...

It's not hypocritical to want to play old games. Many reasonable people have even stated as much. The issue, as I've seen it, is making backward compatibility seem like a must have feature. It's not. It's a cool addition to a slate of features.

Money grubbing Sony, who sold their console at a loss of over $100 per unit to provide backwards compatibility while people screamed that the console was too expensive? C'mon really? I get being upset. But, there's a bit of lack of perspective in this statement. You can fault them for many things. However, after continuous losses, they had to make a move to lower prices. PS2 chip was the sacrifice...and that was years later in the cycle.

Correct. The result of these so-called "wars" isn't devistation and ruin, it's innovation and competition. So, in the end, the industry "wins". Are there losses? Sure. But, not as a result of some bullet to the head. These losses come from a company's inability to evolve and compete, which is often self inflicted. The job of a company is to create loyal, returning consumers. However, some of these consumers turn into fanatics. These fanatics are the problem...a...

They are for the average consumer. But, as you pointed out, thise prices will come down to meet the price expectations of the average consumer. As for early adopters and tech heads, we still set the market. They will try to raise prices but, if we aren't willing to pay, those prices will fall.

Yes! People focus on all the things that it supposedly got wrong, and don't focus on what it does right. For those that accepted that it was never meant to rival Star Citizen or Mass Effect, it is a pretty good survival/resource game that is still evolving. It was just entirely too hyped (media, devs, and gamers), misunderstood, and too expensive for many. Behind that is a game that generates a universe from a single algorithm and sets you free to explore it's vastness (and sometimes ...

At one time, point and click adventure games helped to form the backbone of gaming.(especially on pc) They were basically complex puzzles that required you to think your way to the end as opposed to blast your way. But, they were limited in their presentation. Heavy Rain, and games of that nature, ARE the "evolution" of point and clicks. They moved to more impressive environments, more involved cut scenes, set pieces in the form of QTE's, and more acting. At this point it's ...

If EA would judt compete instead of buying up licenses and trying to monopolize sporrts games, we could have nice things. Good thing? PES is HIGHLY customizable.
