What part of my response had anything to do with political correctness? How does an option align with failure? They added women in FIFA, as a similar option, and that didn't cause it to fail.
As I commented to someone else, it won't make or break the game. It's a feature to be welcomed for those that would enjoy it. For those that wouldn't, it's not intrusive enough to ruin anything.
@Knushwood...Sony and Evo spent a ton of money on Driveclub. I'd be willing to guess way more than anything that MM had. I hate that it closed, as I thought DC had a ton of potential for a great sequel. But, as you said, it's up to Sony how to run their business. You gotta think LBP and it's sequels must have generated some decent profit for Sony. Plus, Sackboy is a pretty iconic character at this point...at least in the PS ecosystem. Imo, MM is like a crazy think tank where Sony ...
Nah, it's a Media Molecule game. They have a pretty built up cache with their audience. It was ALWAYS gonna be a niche title with the chance to penetrate into the mainstream, like LBP. So, those that were checking for it to begin with will still be excited by any further news. Thise that weren't have the chance to be reminded and possibly surprised and tempted to buy it.
It's a nice option, but by no means a game maker or game breaker. I can see 2K expanding access to overseas teams and the G-League before they go for the WNBA. But, it would be nice for the summer NBA droughts to play the WNBA season.
First, there are WNBA fans that aren't female. Second, there are console b-ball players that ARE female and might enjoy WNBA players and teams. Third, if your "alpha" maleness is threatened by controlling a female avatar...you might want to question yourself a bit. Finally, it's a simple Play Now option and won't have much effect on the overall game aside from being an option.
It's only for Play Now. So, just an option at this point...though they mentioned "features added later" in their announcement.
There's no difference, imo, between the way each company is treating 4K. It's obvious that 4K IS a niche at this point, though there is decent traction on 4K TV sales. Both companies are hoping to push the gaming market toward it by offering consoles that can handle it, but don't demand it. The real difference is that MS just created a beefier console that can handle it better. Sony made a modest upgrade. MS went for more. IMO, it's not a show of commitment, otherwise each cou...
If you got Ark survival out of their announcement, that's on you. This was always billed as a space exploration game where the ultimate goal was to get to the center of the universe and discover what happened. It was more like Don't Starve on a universal level than anything that Ark did or is doing.
So when you buy one get one free, is the free one really free? Just because you have to spend money doesn't mean that something can't be added for free. It's free because you didn't have to pay for the extra product that was provided. That's a value added incentive to pay....but the extras are still free. This is not manipulation. It's a business tactic to attract more consumers...like free refills, unlimited apps at restaurants, 2 for 1 deals, etc. We ALL know that we...
Literally!😀
That's a bit of oversimplification. It wasn't just arrogance. It was timing and forethought AND it merely brought them level with the competition. Say what you will about the PS3, but it put more forward thinking into a console than has been done in most consoles ever released. They actually risked their skin to push the industry forward. They did all of this while NOT charging for internet for 8 years. MS has been charging damn near since day one. That is the bulk of where Xbox reven...
Look at the response now. Still, when they have produced updates before, people are already hating on a new one. Now imagine what it would have been like in the aftermath. There was no talking to the pissed off people. Hell, there's no talking to pissed off "fans" now.
Yeah....no! The only thing that this "research" suggests, imo, is that the younger generation has decided not to work themselves to death and actually find time to enjoy more time in their lives. Previous generations were expected to work and work and work without question. But, imo, people got a bit smarter about putting in those extra hours and the extent to which it actually helps or harms them. Generally speaking, in their minds it's no more working sick days. No more gettin...
There's always a distraction from studying. Before gaming, it was TV. Before then it was radio and comic books. Point being, if you don't have discipline or a drive to learn, you will find ANY excuse not to study. It's just that gaming is the new target for explaining general apathy.
We've seen Sony acting like they can do whatever they want because...umm...they can! Now, whether or not it works out is another question. They didn't have to offer anything with PS+. But, they did. It's a bonus added to the service of access to mp online content. I understand that the games that are offered are not what some people want. But, thinking differently, many of those games people wouldn't have even tried. Millions of people weren't clamoring for Rocket League.....
You act as though Sony has issues multitasking when it has proven over and over that it can deliver games while juggling multiple consoles. There has been no huge lack of games (at very least relatively speaking). Yet, we have a PS4, PS4 Slim, PS4 Pro, and PSVR. These games are coming from internal studios. So, all Sony really has to do is keep getting updates, make sure development milestones are being hit, and prepare to market the hell out of them. That's why there are different depart...
He's darker because he was in Greece and most of the stuff took place in what seemed like Summer or Spring. That takes a group of people who are traditionally white to olive skinned and gives them all tans. Go to any beach in Greece during that time and you will see many people of that particular hue. (by the way, I lived in Athens for 3 1/2 years and saw it first hand. I'm a lighter skinned black person and I've never had a tan like the one that I had in Greece.)
As for ...
@kevnb
It seems like you are having a hard time with the transition from the old Kratos to a new one. That is the risk that they are taking. They want to explore what happened to Kratos after all of the anger and vengeance. That is interesting to some people. They want to explore some more nuance about Kratos as a character and not just continue the lineage of him just being a bad-ass. Remember, he was once a family man before all of the chaos ensued. IMO, they are playing that again...
Because "reboots" are attempting to start the same movie or game over. It's the same characters, but played in a different way. It's been done to death from tv to movies to games. The original name creates the link that we all know to the content that may be anywhere from slightly to vastly different.
You DO know that if business was truly the driving force behind the PS3, then it should've cost much more at launch? Sony was so anti-consumer with the PS3 that they took $150 loss per console!
Seriously, I get that it was expensive. I even get that it was kinda all over the place in terms of what they tried to achieve.(the all-in-one approach) But, it's hard to say that any business would take that much of a hit for business purposes. The PS3 issue was a combination of desig...
