Because that's not the ONLY reason people play sims. Part of it IS the experience of trying to do something that we don't/can't do in real life. Some people had aspirations in life, like becoming a pilot, that they didn't achieve. These sims can help provide an experience where they can do it as a hobby, without the huge expenditure of actual flight training.
The other part is that the best of these types of sims can be teaching and learning tools. They can help enhan...

Truth!!! This explains why the focus has become MP for many devs. It simply takes less in terms of artistic and creative intensity. There's a pretty direct formula to create MP focused games. Sure, devs will add here and there. But, for the most part, it's kinda the same. For a SP experience devs can create with a much broader brush, as you said, focusing on an exact experience that they want to convey each and every time the game is played.
None of this is to say that I don&...

While this is true from a basic, philosophical standpoint, devs follow trends. They go where the majority go. So, when they have to choose where most dev time (which is finite) goes, they have a tendency to look at where the most players are and where they feel they can make the most money. In this, online mp makes more sense simply because they can nickel and dime with MT's that are way more crucial to MP gameplay than SP.

Add FIFA Street, NBA Street, SSX, and a not sucky THPS!!!

It's NOT. But, it's not this evil, nefarious plot either. It's a corporation doing what corporations do...looking after it's own interests. MS did the same when they were in the majority. Why are we shocked when corporations do corporate things!?

Is this some bizzaro review where two titles are confused? Seriously, that's the "knock" that FIFA usually gets. Yet, somehow, PES is now style over substance. Don't get that at all. Their "style" didn't improve so much that it warranted such praise AND their substance hasn't fallen off so much to warrant such derision.

Why does it need to be Xbox, though? Competition can come from anywhere.
I'm not trying to hate at all. But, similar things have been said since the beginning of gaming. There was no way anyone could see an industry without Atari...until they did. Then, it was Sega...until they did. I'm not wishing anything or implying anything. But, IF MS decided to pull the plug on all things Xbox, the industry wouldn't just crawl up in a ball and die. There are companies that are chomp...

Genetically repetitive? Don't really get the connection. Are they asking if FPS's are made of the same repetitive elements? Or they borrow too much from prior FPS's (like genetic inheritance)? Maybe the analogy is to point out what is known about genetics...it is a redundant system used by all life with similar to exact same genes sometimes producing different expressions of the genetic code. Keeping with the analogy, there are only so many elements in game design, but how you cho...

True!!! It's just a matter of how much joy we can get out of the repetition that makes a difference in whether we complain about repetition or enjoy the game.

The hardest part of that is garnering the physical and emotional energy to go out and do ANYTHING! Depression, by nature, is intensely selfish. Not that everyone depressed is inherently selfish, but that in depression there's an intense scrutiny on ones self. So much so that the person is usually renedered stagnant because they are overwhelmed by that sense of nobody caring, being alone, nobody understanding, etc. despite oftentimes the situation being the exact opposite.
I DO a...

Yes???😖 Personally, I'd expect that the manual dexterity aspect of gaming could translate to more technically advanced control solutions anyway. So that part, at very least, sounds like a bit of fluff.

At Xb1PS4....Here's the problem. Trangendered is NOT pedophilia. A transgendered individual has no more interest in your daughter than the average person. If a transgendered person were to be using the restroom next to your daughter, it would be in the stall next to her, so she and everyone else would likely never know.

World travel does wonders for perspective. Having lived in Japan for 3 yrs., it was not unheard of to just have a bathroom. Hell, there were some where the urinal was up front and women would have to walk by to get to the stalls. Was it a culture shock at first? Yep! However, logistically, it made sense for certain facilities. There weren't pedos waiting for young girls so they could oggle them. People would respectfully handle their business and be out. Maybe this "worry" says ...

I can see ESports catching on a bit due to the attainable nature of it's feats. We know, for the most part, we can't be the next LeBron (if you ain't a 6'7 240 lbs. highschool phenom...you won't be!) or Messi. But, we could be the next StinkyPants363. Many physical sports have physical requirements. NBA players are TALL. (yes, there are outliers). Amercian Football players are BIG and athletic. Many won't ever fill that bill. However, to be good at an ESport appears to...

Exactly! True depression, by clinical standards, would pretty much mean that you would loose the joy in things that you once found joy in...including videogames. That being said, if one can find an ounce of joy in a joyless period of life, hell who am I to stop them. I guess the other thing is that treating depression, once past the meds, should be individualized. So, if it is indeed working, keep doing it. For me, I just have to ride out the lows and try against everything in me to find some...

Agreed. I don't play the same types of games that I used to play as much. They don't seem to hold my interest as long. Part of it IS that we are, for lack of a better phrase, dating the vapid supermodel with many of our games. They are beautiful and fun for awhile. But, when you spend more time with them, you can see how shallow they really are. The AI in most haven't t really advanced past what we knew last gen. There haven't been many leaps in actual design of games. Open wo...

Also, during that adjustment and learning curve, it can feel less like fun and more like work. The older you get, the less patience most have for anything that requires extra work and isn't gratifying. I've even gotten that way with competitive mp games. I just don't care anymore because the grind is far less gratifying for me (too many people with far more time to master the game). I don't always suck, but I just don't care enough anymore to get really good. Plus, the pot...

True. There are some diehard Live fans that, much like other games, will ride or die with the franchise...regardless of quality. This exact same thing was said when the last Live was released...even back when the "Christ Bynum" version was released. They are just diehards. Good for them...I guess?! Just don't try to wrap poop in a wrapper and claim you have a snicker's bar.🤔😂

I will say that live stepped it up in comparison to what it did previously. However, it still lacks A LOT on the floor (where it matters) in conparison to any 2K after 2k13. Call me a sheep if you will, but that's my opinion. I liked what I played in the Live demo, in terms of options and even presentation. However, on the floor, it was a bit stiff and shallow. Part of the reason that many YouTubers are supposedly "jumping ship" has less to do with Live's greatness and more ...
